Has anyone here seen the movie The Ghost (1990) romantic fantasy thriller by Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze and Whoopi Goldberg? This picture perfectly rehearses and depicts every scene in that movie where the 'Reapers" in form of migrating creatures in the shadows come to take away the spirits of the dead friend and the assassin of Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) who all plotted his murder. Just saying sha.

pinceprinz:Yes there is, and multiples sef. Pray tell, how many emergency numbers do you know or that is available? And if at all any is available the logistics of broken ambulance or fuel unavailability may be what you will be greeted with. Sadly that is what obtains in the country for now. |

Thespecialone:Frankly I'm getting very uncomfortable with your exchanges with valarinz on this thread and sincerely speaking I cannot but cringe at the thought that I would have probably been treated likewise if I was unfortunate to be in her shoes. I am not a patient person when it comes to issues like this and that is why I will think of myself as a perfectionist - if your condition to deliver to me customer satisfaction will cost me a thumb and toe which must be handed over to you at a deadline, I will not hesitate to meet that deadline. What I hate is when the other party fails to appear as dedicated in our deal as I was in sacrificing a thumb and a toe to ensure he/she has a smooth sail. That is why I may be so impatient when things like this come up and I oft throw all cautions to the wind. Having said that and trying not to be judgemental or even biased, the best and simplest thing you could have done was apologise to the justifiably angered customer and move on. You can even fly a discount price for the present transaction or future transactions with such person in order to still keep 'em around since customers that readily fulfil their part of a deal are the best to always have around. Valarinz or anyone should not be made to modify posts that have been justifiably made even after issues are resolved cos it helps others to make informed decision. Hundreds may still decide to transact with you despite one or two negative reviews and some may not - that is informed decision and those ones that get adequate satisfaction will still come back to give you positive ratings, simple. The questions you need to ponder on though are these: *Did unforseen issues truly arise that led to delay in delivery? If yes, then its agreed shyte happens that may be beyond your control. *Did you still demand/get the full payment of express shipping for the late delivery? If yes, then my friend you have not lost anything in this deal. *Did the buyer lose time and money for the delayed delivery? Most likely yes and TSO, that is something to ponder on. That is why the customer always has the right to complain and justifiably so. Which is the same reason that the service provider always have to admit and say: "We are indeed sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused you. We are working at ensuring such issues do not arise as we aim to serve you better in your future transactions, and as a proof of our company's concern for our customers on issues like this, we will offer you a discount of **% on your next transaction with us which you are assured will be delivered to you in record time. Thank you for your patronage on TSO and we do hope see you again." And the discount may not even set you back more than 2 hundred naira o, but it will be like 2 thousand naira to the customer. After all na you sabi the in-house calculation for your discount well well ![]() I can bet the other thumb and toe - that is if I gave you those first ones of course - that they will all run back here to say:"Even though there was a delay by TSO but he made me realize that unforseen circumstances can come up and in good faith did not charge for express shipping/has offered adequate customer satisfaction on my next order with them, so I still hope to do business with the company" and gbam! 5 stars. |
Hi. How much to get these with original customs licences and registration from Cotonou? 02 Benz C230 05 Lexus is250 04 Toyota avensis saloon. 06 Acura TL Thanks.

Kirinwa:He may not entirely be blamed. As far as this third party shipping thingy is concerned, it seems to thrive on competitive pricing and that is what gets you more customers and patronage. It is all about business and there is no crime in a business beating down its price to lure customers as long as quality is not compromised, neither have the customers who jump at discount prices done wrong. Krismax may have to take the blame on this for failing to fulfill his own part of the bargain. Better to have expensive but quality offering than discounted but poor services. As for me, I am still very wary of using these third parties. I don't want hypertension. So I have done a few of my shipping using DHL. I am trying to risk the terrain of third party shippers starting with "ShopToMyDoor" and then "Chrisvicmall". I have registered kn their platform and working on the courage to take the plunge.I cannot come and go and kill myself away. |
Uchexxy:I hope the Acer tablet PC you got is not actually "an Acer chromebook" like HAkorehdeh put up above. Check well o and make sure the OS on it is not Chrome OS. If it is, HAkorehdeh should be able to put you thru with working it ![]() If you're lucky and it's truly Windows 8.1, I will suggest you delete your Android phone from the list of "devices and printers", then try to do a fresh re-connect and pairing between the two devices ensuring to go thru the proper steps of selecting the correct pairing passwords displayed when prompted. You may also have to enable the "allow this device to connect automatically" action when it is requested. When you complete the pairing, try to send your files again. |
HAkorehdeh:Chromebook? Pffrrr! I think you will get better resource using bing search to research hoe to work that device with the OS. Working this device shouldn't be serious trouble for anyone who has worked with a PC or even any phones before. So I believe you won't encounter much difficulty getting it to work. However there is a basic thing you should know about the Chrome OS. It is a poor attempt of google at creating a desktop OS based on the android rootkit OS and aimed at creating a competition with Windows desktop OS, Apple Mac OS, Linux etc. And as you can see, it has been a futile attempt so far. Best experience you can have there is browsing using the google chrome browser which apparently works well on the OS. Most of the other apps available for that OS are web based apps and well, not enjoyable. Google has announced it plans to "unify" the Chrome OS and its android OS to an improved single multi-device OS come 2016. Hehehehe, people be copying Microsoft windows 10 OneWindows concept. I think apple too is working on something similar. I don't know how you will enjoy your chromebook o. Chromebook ke?! Try to sell it off jare and use the money to buy a windows laptop that will give you more versatility and less stress. Yèyé "Scroogle" of an OS. |
Defcon1:I guess you didn't get that link to open up the "store" app on your device and take you straight to "opera mini" app. You must have been browsing using any other browser aside from IE and set your website preferences to "desktop" for this scenario to happen, hence your difficulty in locating the download button. So here is what you should try to do: Copy that url, launch your IE (internet explorer) on your phone and paste the url in the address bar. The IE will then launch your "store" app and directly take you to the download page for "opera mini". Good luck. |

danidee10:NCC was not harsh on MTN at all. All the network operators knew well ahead the penalty for default of SIM card registration. The other three of the big four fearing what the sanctions for default will amount to hurriedly fell in line and met the deadline. The standard is set as a penalty of NGN 200k per unregistered subscriber active on any of the network providers. MTN deliberately held back 5.1 million unregistered subscribers. Ordinarily such SIM cards should have been deactivated and the affected subscribers expected to come and present 'emselves for registration, but I guess 5.1 million subscribers is a tad too difficult for MTN to let go, hence the reason for failure to meet the deadline. Remember that the NNPC money that was "criminally" held in trust by FirstBank and UBA was so much that those banks must have though: "damn, this is cool untraceable cash about to leave our purses, so let's just keep it". They got fined 5% of the money amounting to 5 billion and 1 billion naira respectively. Now to your next question: MTN doesn't have to necessarily fire staffs except they try to be vindictive. Neither will they hike tariffs. This is because there I already competing providers out there. They other big three will be willing to welcome subscribers from MTN who wishes to decamp for attractive tariffs, hence increase in revenue and new employments for "laid off" MTN workers and staff strength for those providers. And to your third question: This money is not going into anyone's pocket. Things have changed and every penny generated is being accounted for. Finally, it's high time Nigeria moved from significant reliance on crude oil to forms of revenue generation like corporate taxation as the UK does (like what is happening to MTN, FirstBank et al) and also introduce/increase VAT. Then use part of these ready made revenues to build every other sectors of revenue generation eg. Transportation, mining and industry (South Africa and China), agriculture (Malaysia), tourism (Dubai) etcetera etcetera. |
capspeter:Tell me something. Even for the same item? Cos if that is the case, I will henceforth put default currency setting on Aliexpress as Chinese Yuan. By the way, got charged 219NGN to the dollar on Ecobank today. And I just envy that sweet rate Skye users enjoy. |
Defcon1:Just click on this direct URL to take you straight to the opera mini in the store: Check out "Opera Mini" for Windows Phone http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=b3bf000a-e004-4ecb-a8fb-9fc817cdab90 |
barnabas91:So does that imply that if one does not really require the items on emergency, cheaper shippers like China post/express, Singapore Post, Netherland post or Yanwen can equally be used for goods purchased on ALIBABA the same way it works on Aliexpress? |
This is a good discourse. It will have impacts, positive and negative, in the country. But I think that the government can make policies to protect the interest of local producers. There is nothing wrong if they are instructed to patronize local farmers is wholesale and bulk supplies. I think outlets like Mr. Biggs, shoprite et al already patronise local content wholesale suppliers. There will be serious competition with small time importers of china products with their own massive importation. However if the policies of the government can focus on technology and R & D of local content and manufacturers, then we may put up adequate competition with such. |
henryskywalker2003:So how does a 9ja resident buy from those outlets? |
Omotweezy:Remind me again. Is StanbicIBTC not owned by South Africa? As a South African consortium, they need to raise 5 billion dollars to pay for MTN sanction of two weeks ago. That's the reason you are just getting overcharged this week for a transaction that you have been appropriately charged for and concluded weeks back. Perhaps CBN can come to your aid on this. Sorry pal. |
SenseiX:SIM registration is about solving problems in Nigeria, problems that directly impact on the people and the economy. The inconveniences of the masses associated with ensuring compliance with SIM registration in any form is incomparable to the fear and unrest that comes with suicide bombings and kidnappings that prevail today. One of the new rules of NCC is that a newly purchased SIM card should be appropriately registered with adequate biometrics (picture and fingerprints). Even then, that line must make a voice call or data activity within 24hrs of activation or else risk de-activation. Phone activated bombs are used by BH. Tie a cheap phone to some IED. Call the phone and the vibration upon ringing sets off the charge and boom. You don't need to have the call picked, all you need is for the phone to vibrate. Hence the insistence of NCC that newly registered SIM should conduct a voice call or data within 24 hrs. The former SGF, chief Olu Falae, was kidnapped not long ago. The perpetrators used an MTN SIM to conduct their operations. When MTN was contacted, they couldn't provide useful information because the SIM was UNREGISTERED - bollocks! two months after the deadline for registration had been met by other operators. Now that is SABOTAGE and it can be proven that MTN was an intending conspirator in the success of a crime against the state. So if MTN gets slammed 5 billion dollars to make 'em fall in line in ensuring that the security and lives if Nigerians that form their subscriber base and even the safety of the lives of the MTN expatriates 'emselves, I don't think that sanction is outrageous. Bloomberg in my opinion is talking nonsense by saying that the recent sanction of MTN will send across a strong message to prospective investors which may reduce FDI. I call the bluff of Bloomberg and they are just being unduly sentimental cos this is done by a black nation to a white owned consortium. Which scenario will scare investors more: To risk sanction if they fail to obey the rules of doing business in Nigeria OR risk getting dismembered by BH or kidnapped for ransom if their securities cannot be guaranteed? JP Morgan had been sanctioned a freaking 20 (twenty) billion dollars by the US before for failing to abide by rules, Bloomberg did not opine then, neither did hell freeze over then. Heck, the outrageous amount charged by Nigerian government for licences to GSM operators in Nigeria 10 years ago did not deter Econet wireless, MTN et al from working the gold mine in Nigeria telecommunication sector, hence this 5 billion dollars deserved sanction is sure not gonna dissuade any company who knows the gold in the mine is not even close to getting reduced let alone getting depleted. Bloomberg is crying more than the bereaved and you know what, they can shove their biased opinion right up their lower foramen or hiatus. |
Unabefool:Woah woah! Take it easy man. This ain't about vengeance or vindictiveness. MTN broke the rule, they pay. victorD3:I thought so too. |
arabianights:Where did that come from? You just stole those words right outta my mind. |
14:Please read this link: http://saharareporters.com/2015/10/27/how-big-and-rich-mtn-walked-outlaw-path-52bn-fine-nigeria The amount of fine was not arbitrary. There was a laid down method of arriving at the amount and MTN was well aware of the intricacies and the sanctions for default. Same way FirstBank and UBA were both sanctioned in a standard manner. The only option is that MTN may negotiate with the FG/NCC for a softer landing, if not for anything but to ensure that the company is still left breathing and able to operate and thrive within the country. |
14:Please read this link: http://saharareporters.com/2015/10/27/how-big-and-rich-mtn-walked-outlaw-path-52bn-fine-nigeria All MTN need do is to just obey the rules. They already have the majority in subscriber base. What they need is honesty and dedication, not to making money alone, but also to giving value for money and satisfying the subscribers. Then they will have easy sail. |
arabianights:Encourage indigenous, yes, but not to default tax or disobey rules of the NCC. They should equally not be spared if they err. That is bow to ensure standards are set. And sincerely in my opinion, Glo hasn't been impressive as I would want. Granted they are somewhat greenhorn compared to MTN, Etisalat and Airtel, but they should be getting some things right by now. I had Mtel when they started and i still have their SIM pack safe as a reminder. I have Glo as my daily driver. Airtel as a sidekick and Etisalat as a show of my support for their standard and competition. But MTN, heck no! I've never had that SIM anywhere any of my devices and my name never on their subscriber database. |
JSmart4u:You know what? I honestly don't wish MTN pulls out. They have invested much into telco and are part of the success story of telecommunication in this country. Heck I want the competition to continue but this time on a level playing field. All MTN needs to do is to fall in line and do business as it is, not as they want. At least that is how it applies in their home country and even in their operations in our next door neighbour Ghana. They should know that financial inducements to indulge in corporate crimes will no longer apply in the telco environment in the country. So they only need to obey the rules. No one is gonna sanction 'em for obeying rules and they can even justifiably contest in court any such actions wrongly imposed on 'em. Maybe if things go southward again - I pray not - when this current government leaves, MTN can again resume its corporate crimes that give it humongous annual earnings. And for the records, MTN does not have the cheapest call rates in Nigeria. Globacom currently has the cheapest intra- and interconnectivity call rates of the big fours. |
arabianights:Thank you my brother. You really get the drift. A more appropriate question should have been "why is MTN not the largest player (actually the third position) in the home country of South Africa? In those days when anything goes in this country, expatriate consortiums can become hugely successful if you are a willing player of the dirty game. Hike fees, give sub-standard services and make humongous profits as a result. Just ensure you always plug the mouths of the regulators and SON with enough Naira to make 'em look away and dump their primary duty of consumer protection. MTN was just lucky and "smart" enough to be in a country where these wrong is condoned whereas in South Africa where they have to do business by the book and customer satisfaction and value for money are ensured, they are in the distant third. |
14:I believe i was clear enough on the distinction between Satellite TV and DBTV as they apply to DSTV and Startimes/NTA in my submission. So sorry I don't get what you aim to elucidate here. I know what I'm saying. So maybe you should read my submission again and compare and contrast to your own emphasis. |
14:Econet wireless would have been the best in Nigerian market today, remember they were the first to go on air in Nigeria. They couldn't survive because as a consortium, they were not willing to dance along with the corruption infested terrain. The licencing of the telecom operators at the start of the whole process was very transparent and impressive. However along the way things went wrong. The wrong individuals tried to cash in on that opportunity to make huge money illegally. While MTN did not really resist the temptation to "financially" forge their way ahead, Econet wireless was unwilling to play and they paid with being kicked outta the field. Painful it is. If you need more explanation or revelation of the how, why and what became the fate of the original Econet wireless and how the various metamorphoses of Celtel, Vmobile and Airtel came about, I will oblige you. If either of Globacom or Etisalat had forayed into the Nigerian market earlier, they may have the largest in the market share too. |
14:Oh no. You don't get it and you are missing the point. NTA brought StarTines consortium into the country. It is a partnership aimed at meeting the deadline of overall digitalisation of broadcast by 2016. Digital broadcast Television (DBTV) is what NTA aims at and they partnered with Startimes China for take off and management till a specified period after which total ownership is handed over to NTA. DBTV as operated by Startimes Nigeria made TV subscription more affordable to Nigerians and more subscribers joined the wagon, with a negative effect on DSTV, the sole operator of satellite TV broadcast in the country (after HITV has been taken care of). DSTV could not directly fight off StarTimes since they were on two different platforms. The only way to fight of the bleeding subscribers on their platform was to field a DBTV outfit (they got the money and the willingness to illegally subvert decisions - that's business, though dirty and allowed by Nigeria atmosphere) So they started GoTv. StarTimes took 'em to court on the premise that DSTV was not licenced to operate DBTV, only satellite TV. This is true and under no circumstance should DSTV, a company licenced only for satellite TV broadcast by NCC should be allowed to operate DBTV which StarTimes has been licenced for. Well, absurdly but not unusually, DSTV won. |
14:Pray tell. Have other operators (Glo, Airtel and Etisalat) been working under a different regulatory environment? Oh, they don't answer to NCC, I guess. Of that three, just one - Glo - is mostly indigenous, so the question of a foreign investment being victimised clearly doesn't arise. Here is the truth: MTN has had the wherewithal to sway decisions all along. Heck, I know they can fly enough "monetary motivations" in the faces of those NCC officials for 'em to forget the 5 billion fine but I'm not sure the officials would wanna risk their neck under a new government. Other operators have not been overtly "generous" in inducements and cannot afford the financial wherewithal to indulge NCC in such power play. Therefore for the fear of incessant sanctions, they have learnt to obey the rules of corporate op. |
