Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday, November 13, unveiled Nigeria’s first locally-assembled full electric car; aimed at reducing pressure on the use of petroleum. Sanwo-Olu said at the unveiling in Lagos that the electric car was technology on display. The Hyundai Kona car, manufactured by Stallion Group is 100 per cent electric and also comes with zero-emission; 482km driving range, and can be charged both at home as well as workplace. “The future that we see is the future of technology and this is the technology that we are talking about. “This is 21st Century technology that has been brought into our country. “With the innovation of Hyundai Kona, we do not need to put the pressure on what is the pump price of oil again; what is the pump price of petroleum again. Governor of Lagos State, Mr. @jidesanwoolu in Ojo today at the unveiling of the first locally assembled Electric Car named: HYUNDAY KONA, gave an update of issues surrounding the Lagos Badagry Expressway which Lagos State Govt is working on. #ForAGreaterLagos @BadagryForum pic.twitter.com/tMU5ZERsIs — Gawat Jubril A. (@Mr_JAGss) November 13, 2020 Sanwo-Olu said there was a need to create an enabling environment for the company to do well; so that it could employ a lot more youths. The governor also said that with the unveiling of the Hyundai Kona electric car; youths would be employed and also empowered for greater opportunities. According to him, the state government will partner with Ibile Oil and Gas; and other private organisations to create different charging points in the city; so that people will have where to charge the cars. “For us, we see a renowned hope, for us we see a tomorrow coming today; for us we see and likewise believe in the Stallion dream,” the governor said. Sanwo-Olu commended Stallion Group for believing in the Lagos and Nigeria dream; and also revamping the moribund asset located along Lagos-Badagry Expressway. In his address, the Managing Director, the Stallion Group, Rohtagi Manish, said that the innovation was a step towards an eco-friendly green Lagos. Manish said that the material used to assemble Nigeria’s First 100 per cent electric zero-emission car was mostly sourced from local resources. The vehicle, when fully charged for 9hrs 35mins, can go a distance of 482km (the equivalent of Lagos to Warri) before it requires charging again. SolnergyPower:Are the cells brand new? |
The "defenders of the government" will come after you now. Once they look down from up there where they fly about, they will perch and give you a piece of their mind. |
nzeobi: |
Lagos state begun that nonsense and other states quickly followed suit when they saw the body language of Lagosians as not being against it (and it's not that they weren't really against it, but to the average 9ja politician, they are so insensitive that the voices of the people do not count). Lagos should as well kick-start the cessation of the nonsense and illegality they helped institutionalise nationwide. nzeobi:Good. That's an very excellent idea. Could you also help us think out the amount you think will be befitting for the taxpayer that dedicated 35 years of his existence for the growth of the state? |
olaadesie:I think you should show them the attached screenshot at the local post office. The arbitration team was specific about it being at the "local post office" as against "country of destination" which is less specific. Also let 'em know that you had opened trade dispute and already lost the case and your money is not going to be refunded to you. As added advantage, give your tracking number to a NIPOST official to track (you can try their website or one "prince something" official on their Twitter website like that). If we are to go by AE's claim, then their own (NIPOST's) check should also align. Then go with that evidence along too. |
ojeysky:Same thought I had. earthrealm:Thanks. |
ojeysky:Thanks. It's a 48v system. 100amp SCC, 320 watts panel each, 3s2p stat and sure to add more strings in future expansion. Ordinarily what I would have done had the roof been accessible is to use the panel cables as they come (without extensions) and no junction box (just 3-to-1 MC4 multi), then use a 6mm or 10mm all the way to the SCC. But with the requirement of an extension, I was thinking 6mm as extension will not be too bad, and then 10mm from the junction box. I totally agree with your suggestion of a heavier guage from the battery to inverter (I've always used heavier guages for even smaller system, let alone this). And the inverter is 5kva/48v, so that will be some work horse handling heavy loads. |
So I envisage challenges with self-mounting my panels cos they will be higher up the roof where there is currently spaces for them. So I will need to hire the services of an avid "roof climber" to mount the solar panels. But I still need to have full control of my installations as subsequent tinkering and panel reconfiguration may come in occasionally. So I was thinking of a viable way to achieve that, bypassing the restriction of my free access to the roof. One idea that came to mind is extending the wires of each panel (via MC4s and 6mm wires) by as much as 14ft to 20ft to terminate at a point where I have access to. At this point there will be a junction box with busbars where I can comfortably manipulate and connect those terminal panel wires From the junction box, I envisage using a 10mm gauge wire to terminate at DCBs. Then another 10mm from the DCBs to terminate at the panel input of the SCC. Also 10mm wire the rest of the way to the battery terminals. There is a picture illustration. Do you guys think my ideas are reasonable, especially that part about using 6mm duo core to extend the panel wires to a junction box 20 feet (around 6 meters) away? Thanks for your anticipated advice.

Dgreatman10:Why would you lump heritage bank with banks that allows international transactions on their cards? That's an insult on those other reasonable banks. See heh, I've been operating heritage bank since the days when it's called Spring Bank, then Enterprise Bank before it transmogrified to present Heritage bank. The card they even issue mostly is verve. The begun MasterCard issuance about 2 years ago and their card has been usable for me on AE only once in 2018, not thereafter. |
krozay:None. Zenith is 100 USD. Only GTB is 200 USD. I think Wema is 500 USD but I think their exchange rate is killing at 450 naira per USD or thereabout. |
Mazdell:Just don't bother with returns on AE cos it's not economically viable. The shipping fee alone is a killer. Just keep the item jéjé and maybe split the refunds with the seller if he's not willing to agree on a 100% refund. |
Difrent: Kaymaxine:@Kaymaxine, let's help him understand better, if he wills to learn.

That dude in Aso rock and his minions, they like reaping where they did not show. That nonsense attitude that they'd gotten away with for many years and their nonsense sense of entitlement is what drove him to say that. Equitable distribution my foot, as if Nigerian resources are equitably distributed between all the stakeholder ethnicities nationwide.

apprentist:Has this issue been only today? Or has it been happening before today? If it's the former, it may be 11/11 issues. You can also experience this (from personal experience) if you try to purchase quickly by selecting ALL items in your cart and trying to pay them all at once. If this is the case, selecting each seller and paying one after the order, your card may go thru. In my own case about 6 years ago and days before 11/11, I'd added all items of interest in my cart and wanted to buy all at one sweep using my Ecobank card, I got an error with payment and moments after my card was no longer usable - it has been blocked by the bank, for security reasons. Apparently the system flagged my card as being used by someone who stole it or trying to use it without the owner's consent. Of course I switched payment to other cards and called Ecobank 48 hrs later to have them de-hotlist my card. |
olujosh301:Shebi it's 11/11. Millions of orders every second is what will be going thru that AE server. So several server hitches may be experienced along the line. At times some pages may not even open and you'll need to refresh to get back in. "Payments being verified" notification is a normal step in AE ordering process and it's the step before "your payment has been confirmed" followed by "seller is processing your order". The reason you don't get to see that status frequently is because it usually lasts a few seconds to few minutes so before you get back to checj the status of the order you made, it is already in "your payment has been confirmed" stage. The likely reason you get to see it now is that the status change has taken much longer than usual, probably prompted by the increased stress on AE server secondary to 11/11. It may likely remain on that status for 12 to 24hrs due to server traffic. Talking about 11/11. I've seen thru that scam jàre, and I wasn't even looking forward to it with any excitement whatsoever. Most items in my watchlist and cart only came back to the prices they were four weeks ago. Within the last 3 weeks, sellers will increase/inflate their item price by as much as 20% to 50% (those who buy at this period is one chance), then on 11/11, the items will be on offer for the price they were before the increase. These gimmicks are usually inapparent to the unsuspecting public who see all as discount and rush to purchase. The few sellers that truly discount their items will do so by just a few cents or at most a dollar. |
Sòròsókè! Loud am please. Tolls should be placed between roads leading from the North into the South, shikena! That way they can start generating revenues for the benefit of all southerners. If the northerners like, they should also have theirs cos Nigerians care less. True federalism and regionalism should be fought for to put an end to the inequitable distribution of resources of the Nigerian people. |
Justin288:The link to your source of Batrium BMS? Justin288:60.75v. 48v inverters max out at 60v when overvoltage protection trips. So which inverter do you use that gives that more allowance? The config I have my packs sealed in is 14s14p per box. I can see some good points in support of your 15s idea and I believe there will be space for an extra 1s in mine but then that will compromise spaces for other add ons - voltmeter, DCB, Battery terminals and fan. So maybe I will try things with 14s for now, then upgrade to 15s later. Justin288:I will need to contact you bro. Can I get the digits? |
12345DKO:It isn't.

saaphiere:The FG of course, and the north coming against the south. Who else would be bankrolling such attempt at terrorising the civil population into silence? The same proponents of social media regulation. There is clearly no northern names in that list (I'm actually not sure any northern individual stood against SARS brutality and bad governance). The Fulani hegemony in order not to be seen as responsible for this is hiding behind their puppet in "kenechuckwu okeke", a South east Nigerian. I hope the guy goes ahead with the litigation and then when he fails, the defendants slam their own lawsuit for defamation and demanding huge payouts as compensation from the yèyé guy. |
nairavsdollars:Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, the state chairman of the party every right thinking Nigerian should support and applaud the decision by the governor, given the dwindling resources in the country. The resources don't even have to be dwindling for any reasonable individual to know that is is great anomaly. The civil servants who worked for/are working for the money for decades are denied their pay continuously, being owed several months in salaries, pensions and gratuities, but one four year political jobber will come and start earning refular multiple incomes during and after his four years of looting. Even in times of abundance, a sane human will not eat the abundance of the entire people to feed himself. By the way, is that the same Tunde Balogun Lagos speaker that was accused of financial misappropriation and owing several funded ghost bank accounts? What moral justifications does he then have to even propose/support such when he is not ready to come to equity with clean hands? Edited: Okay that was house speaker Obasa. |
Justin288:What's the battery configuration you have there? What's your nominal voltage? |
Mkelv0106:You can wait for the two days to elapse before you open dispute. But if you feel like doing something while that time elapses, you can send request to the seller to extend your BP protection (the seller is unlikely to do that anyways cos most sellers don't even read their messages for two days). At the end of two days, take screenshots of the item tracking using Track24 app and armed with that open your dispute and upload the pictures along as evidences. |

The palliatives of these ones have even been stolen by the politicians. Is there anything good that can come outta Nigerian rulers? |
The chief No shame. He is warning/commanding that the producers of the vaccine should make it available to the world at large, as if he contributed a dime in human or financial resources to make it come to fruition. What happens to encouraging and funding R& D in your own country of Nigeria to produce these milestones? But no, he will be busy with nepotism, funding ruga, banditry, insurgency, state sponsored police and army brutality and finally freezing the accounts of peaceful protesters when the accused SARS officers remained freed "for lack of compelling evidence" according to your IGP. Meanwhile they conveniently look away from indicting bank transactions of the accused SARS officers but flex muscle at the accounts of peaceful protesters with legitimate earnings. |
Entrepreneurrr:Yes he was issued tracking number but tracking was stuck at dispatched to overseas. |
rummmy:Good choice. Stopping to eat some type of food does not mean literarily starving. It just means you changed eating habit synonymous to changing any other habits. Not too comfortable times usually birth invention out of neccessity. I notice a higher number of Nigerians have keyed into crop farming and animal husbandry either on subsistence commercial basis and this seems to have lessened the burden of hunger that this government policies brought. |
ojeysky:There's a NL guy that once tried to help me organize a casing for 8s 105ah LFP for 8k, if I remember well. Perhaps he may be of some help. 090six 84four 8zerozerofive He does some LFP assembling and has a thread on NL. But I've not transacted any deals with him before unlike our own LFP guy that has been tested and trusted. https://www.nairaland.com/5757093/lifepo4-prismatic-cells-available |
Meanwhile the Northern elders will blame their own people for disobeying their politicians as the cause of the pillage and palliative looting that occured there. Such stark difference. But wait o. I hope the monarchs aren't using style to tell the governors to start to invite them to the table for chops. |
jenny005:Come to think of it. There are a lot of seasoning options down south. These can be explored and set as standard for cooking meals. Crayfish as you said is another good option. It is even nutritious. If onion is unavailable, then make do with a better home grown option. I honestly don't think southerners need to sweat over the scarcity of onions. Ever since I noticed the better taste, I have made it a point of duty to always have one Nigerian bag of rice per foreign bag not minding the fact that it is more expensive. I wouldn't have really known this difference if that foreign rice scarcity thingy didn't happen. |
