Same with PDP, of which you Dino is one. |
Nonsense talk. Just typing for the sake of it. The tweets from these sycophants do not really have much sense in it or behind it. The same way she tweeted controversial pictures of scraggly, suffering kids to push home her arguement for people to wear face masks. Is General Mohammadu Buhari himself patriotic towards Nigeria? Are his cabinet members patriotic? The legislators, politicians, are they all patriotic? Are you yourself Lauretta a patriotic Nigerian? Cos of you all are, then your interest will be more about making the country succeeding by making the people that make up the country succeeding. But what you have all been doing is to make poverty the lot of the majority whilst you corner for yourselves the largest share of the wealth. The 10% that loots the 90% of the wealth of the nation. To you that is being patriotic, right? Lauretta needs to look in the mirror first and ask who she sees, "have you been a patriotic Nigerian?" |
IRAPADA:If they are on the ground where it is easily accessible for relocation, then by all means you can go ahead with that. But if it's on the roof, I doubt there is much that can be done about that except you have a section of your roof that aligns with the current sun orientation and you can afford the time and the stress to rearrange the panels. Remember that in some months to come, the sun orientation will still change again. So you must be prepped to change your panel orientation again. Meanwhile, it's not just the sun orientation that we need to contend with this time around, there is also the problem of dust, dirt and other debris settling on the panels and severely impacting insolation and yield. My harvest has dipped by almost one fifth due to that alone. Sadly panels aren't easily accessible. So you may want to look into that too alongside re-arrangement. |
Jagznation:He is not a good man. If he was a good man, you will have seen him actively deal with some if not all of the bad eggs in his government. The people have been agitating for the replacement of security chiefs in the wake of the nation's failed security, but he still insists to keep 'em, indirectly telling Nigerians that he does not care to do whatever is necessary to keep the citizens safe. |
Like they said about GEJ. And 6 years down the line after he's out, Nigerians have gotten fcked upside down worse by APC and General Mohammadu Buhari. Fact is APC is PDP and vice versa. APDPC, is the hybrid form of both terrible parties. |
One thing I know is that I already developed a liking for home grown rice. The peculiar taste has gradually grown on me. And even though I stock one home grown and one foreign at any point in time, the foreign somehow tastes bland whenever I eat it. The government should improve incentives, provide security and provide ready made market for Nigerian farmers. Then the issue of inordinate profit also comes in. Nigerians are known to engage in illegitimate profiteering whenever given the slightest opportunity. If indeed the local farmers and rice processors are cashing out like the popular claim, then I see no reason why they should sell their bags of rice for more than 10 thousand naira instead of the current 26 thousand naira. In Cotonou, the imported rice sells for 8k, and by the time it gets to end consumers here in Nigeria, it is already 31k. This is part of the illegitimate profiteering. The local farmers should strategize to technically destroy demand for foreign rice by creating competitive price advantage. I can't see local rice for 12k and foreign rice for 20k and decide to go for the latter especially when there has been significant improvement in the local end product, that will be stupidity. But like every other policies, this rice importation ban is usually half thought, and the government lacks the will to punish saboteurs especially if such are from their region in the north. The recent massacre of rice farmers in Borno and the razing of the rice field has high suggestion of sabotage by people that may already be losing significantly from the ban on rice importation; kind of an economic war that may be sponsored by countries that have lost the huge rice importation business in Nigeria. |
The almighty protects her, so that the northern oligarchy does not murder her like they did to that fighter pilot. |
Fulanis on the beat! |
Good one. By the time he gets to be in the presidency with dem Sóworé in "Youth Party of Nigeria", na to order private jet to celebrate his birthday. Values have been completely lost in this country. He who wants to come to equity must come with clean hands. There is nothing wrong with displaying opulence and oppression when it is your own money that you use. But it is completely wrong when you do so as someone vying for public office. You will send a wrong message to the people who may them see that position as money spinning opportunity and one to use to oppress the people. As an aspiring politician or if already occupying a public office, uncensored humility should be your watchword even if you can afford to buy the whole country. That is one of the sacrifice to pay for being a public servant. For the time duration that I'm a public servant, I will withdraw my kids from private schools and enroll 'em into the same schools attended by the citizens' children and wards. We will attend the same parties as they do, visit the same parks and definitely use the same hospitals. I will make a standing ruke at home: for the time that I will be in office, my wife must not be seen shopping exotic or wearing exotic, ditto my children. They must use the same local wears that the people use. There are beautiful clothings that are locally made. They must not be seen riding plush cars all over the place. There must not be a wide gulf between what they can afford and what the people outside can afford. I will make sure that they are not disconnected from the reality of the majority out there and as living conditions improve for those outside, so also there will be a commensurate improvement in their own (my kid's) display of wealth. That way, their concern will always be how life will be more beautiful for the people outside (and always remind me their dad to work to attain such) because they know that until life for those outside improve, they can't get a raise in their own living allowances. If I place ban on foreign rice, I will definitely eat home grown rice to let the people know that they matter in the scheme of things. Eating home grown foods will not kill me, and in fact it is much more safer than imported stuffs that are all processed. So why won't I relish consuming them? |
Blue3k:Not with piggery as part of the proposal. Other states approved were cattle alone. Ondo state is the only state that had piggery included. |
“We have zero support in the area of pig farming from the federal government. We have our paper before the federal government and we are praying that it should be attended to. We are ready for it and our business plan has been submitted. If it is approved, we will have a meat collection center in each of the three senatorial districts while the main office will be in Akure, the state capital. ”Hisbah up North will complain about the DG spending money on pigs stuff. The FG will likely not approve their application with th inclusion of piggery. Or they tell 'em to expunge piggery from the business proposal as a condition to approve the money. I know that Fáyemí as the corrupt glutton that he is is tryna cash out ahead of approval |
The police proving so inefficient. I'm sure the operator at the emergency desk is a Fulani, reason he does no know where Ughelli is. Does he even need to know where it is before making effort to dispatch men? For goodness sake the phone while on call can be triangulated using the GSM masts, the a proper location is obtained and me dispatched to the place. |
Sickos as politicians all over the place. What happens to focusing on key human developmental agenda: Education and health. An educated constituency will sooner or later know their rights and free 'emselves from the shackles of oppression, they can as well go self-help to develop themselves in several other fields that won't include waiting for ropes, satchet water, wheel barrows or shoe polish from politicians. An educated populated build an egalitarian society, and this should be the desire of us all. A wealthy individual in the midst of thousands of poor and peasants is himself poor and will not have rest of mind. But when a wealthy man is sorrounded by many people that are not necessarily as equally wealthy but at least comfortable by all standards, then peace and tranquility is not a rarity. A healthy population is usually a productive population. When you talk of health, it also includes mental health. There will be less pressure on health system facilities when primary health care and community disease prevention programs are in top gear. Afe Babalola does something (I'm not sure if he still does it now). But it's an annual ritual where he encourages applicants with business start-up ideas to obtain forms and come up with such ideas. Scrutiny is carried out and successful applicants are funded free of charge and the progress of the business is also monitored for a while until the individual is able to stand on his/her own. He has farms that he employs farmers to work on. He also conducts an annual harvest competition of the farmer with the largest and most impressive harvests. The winners are given money prizes. The past years have seen farmers doing their best to ensure they win these prizes. Indirectly this encourages dedication and productivity. I don't know if all these programmes are on going sha, but I was last aware of it 2 years ago. With the amount of money that goes into the hands of these lawmakers, it will be a worthwhile investment in their constituency if they engage in programmes like this. But of course they need to spend as little as possible (maybe 0.5%) in the constituency allowances while the remaining 99.5% balance goes into their pockets, so they will never engage in laudable programmes as those listed above. |
Has anyone noticed that the government is trying hard to soft pedal on many of their strong headed decisions ever since the #endsars protest was ignominably terminated by this same government? Agreeing to re-open the border, to suspending the PHCH tarriff hike, reducing the import duty on passenger vehicles come 2021 and now this? If this sudden newfound listening ear or softness is due to the reality slapped back into their head by that suprise protest or is due to their attempt to patronise or con Nigerians ahead of 2023, I can't say. But one thing is sure, even if they go as far as slashing their bogus salaries by half, it won't change the truth that Nigerians now know: the truth that the politicians are their greatest enemy. And that if the youths mean business, the will utilize every non-violent arsenal available to them including national and international pressures to finish every one of these politicians. Nothing the politicians do now is going to change that mindset nor earn them forgiveness from Nigerians. |
Perhaps the individual last wish was cremation for his interrement but the family probably denied the last wish. So he had to do it himself, taking the vehicle along of course. |
I guess this one is already HIV positive, so she doesn't have to worry about nothing. Well, if you don't know, Elisha Abbo is lenteviral positive and it's no secret anyways, and he has not denied it. I'm in no way trying to stigmatize him, but since it's not a secret, I just want to point out the obvious. His first wife succumbed to the ailment. |
Commentators on the tweet tried to redirect CNN to the issue: which is its tweet of Oct. 23rd in which it said ”At least 38 people were killed in Nigeria on Tuesday (Oct. 20th) when the military opened fire on peaceful protesters.” This is very unambiguous and CNN is exhibiting panic by seeking to clarify its tweet some 35 days later! Instead of engaging in such panic, CNN should come clean by admitting that it goofed badly on the Lekki Toll Gate incident. The FG always hiding behind one finger. The proper closing statement should have read as follows: “But the big lesson to draw from CNN’s faux pas and indeed the whole ugly post-demonstration reporting is that it magnifies the failure of the Nigerian government in proper crises management, whilst establishing the fact that it all wouldn't have happened had the FG not engaged in its usual style of intimidation and brutality by deploying armed military after unarmed protesters (who had not declared an act an act of war) but instead in absolute disregard for human rights and proper rules of engagement had gone ahead with a display of force that should be seen only in the war against terrorism and banditry in the Northern part of the country including pockets of increasing spate of insecurity countrywide" But like Liar Mohammed will always do, he'll major on the minors; something like trying to cover up his gaffe hours ago (lying straight faced about his 5 million naira penalty fee) with this new bare-chested affront on an international news media outfit as if it is under the NBC. They better not draw the lines with CNN, cos the latter may then decide to dare the FG to bring it on. The government is no Saint and it sure has more rots and evil cover ups within the past five years that it will not want to be unveiled to the whole world. |
Daughter from hell! Nakanda:I find your claim hard to believe. If your claim were true, then the spectators would not have been shocked or appeared surprised at the incident. But as you can clearly see from the pictures all of them are gonna be traumatized from this horror for a long time. The investigation should include conducting a Mental State Examination (MSE) on this accused cos a sane human is unlikely to be able to go thru the horrid moments of butchering a human into that many parts (not saying it isn't impossible) but at this moment, that is the explanation I can hold on to in order not to be so disturbed psychologically tonight. angelfallz:This is a crime on another level. This will shock even the devil himself. The first reaction to this type of scenario by any living human is a display of speechlessness, an expression of shock while trying to process the reality of what you just saw, trying to figure out if you are dreaming or you're indeed a witness to it. FuckThaMod:Dude abeg stop it. You're not sounding funny if that's what you intend. The description you're painting is utterly disgusting and despicable. |
These people are confused. You say western things are "haram" yet you reckon with the western word "black" as undesirable. Meanwhile same Africans are already weaning themselves off of conditioning by things western. Things such as the use of some of their words to represent negativity being attached to Africans. It's the west that impresses it on you that black is not good and Christ and the angels are white. Meanwhile in reality, Jesus Christ was not white, he was indeed brown skinned. The west defined what "whitewash" is and what "blackmail" is. We can choose not to take their definition and instead reverse whitewash to mean the evil connotation it should be. Hisbah is so much confused as it is. But the best they can do is prevent their own Islamic TV stations from the use of that work. They can't sanction the usage on the web or the social media. Even Liar Mohammed has not been able to muzzle the media, let alone one rag-tag islamo-centric group that calls itself hizbah. |
Can we say it is Ògún, the Yoruba god of iron that has fought for his own thru this? The other time in Ìrèlé (Ondo state) and Ìkogòsì (Ekiti state) it was Sàngó, the Yoruba god of thunder. He is sad that he lost cows. Wherease when human lives or farmers' crops are lost due to fallouts from grazing activities, they care less. More importantly, I rejoice with him that he did not die along with the cows. He needs to appreciate the fact that his own life matters more than the cows'. He will still be alive to raise more herds but hopefully not to use the herds to further destroy human lives and crop farmers' livelihood. |
GavelSlam:If he were to be in Nigeria, his dreams will have been killed. SARS would have shot him or the economic woes of the country would have rendered him despondent enough to jettison his ambitions to be a great football player. |

Louisboy22:I still listened to the song yesterday. The child died in a plane crash. https://www.nairaland.com/373872/maryam-babangida-killed-dele-giwa https://www.nairaland.com/5908795/music-legend-bongos-rumoured-dated The story of their connection is one that has been told since the 80s. I don't think it's an urban legend. After all, up till today it's still being debated if Babangida truly murdered Journalist Dele Giwa of the then newswatch via a letter bomb. Heck even the Hercules plane crash that killed a lot of commissioned officers is also still a subject of debate as to if IBB was connected to it. But in all of these, people still know the truth in all these stories.

lecturer50:Okay. I'm usually not too convenient with the proximity of those waves in such scenario. Being exposed to so much large doses of those radio waves on constant basis. |
War of words rages as CNN releases second report indiciting FG, Army on Lekki shootings (Video) War of words rages as CNN releases second report indiciting FG, Army on Lekki shootings (Video) CNN has released a second report regarding the #EndSARS shootings which happened at the Lekki Toll Gate, despite the threats of sanction from the Federal Government. 1st News had reported the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, slammed CNN for its initial investigative report, tagging it “poor journalism” while calling for sanctions on the network. Mohammed also followed up the threat with a letter addressed to the management of CNN in Atlanta. However, CNN on Tuesday did a second report with more damning footage; showing soldiers shooting at unarmed protesters on October 20, 2020. The fresh report also shows the Commander, 81 Division, Brig. Gen Ahmed Taiwo; admitting before the judicial panel in Lagos that his men indeed took live ammunition to the toll gate. The CNN report also highlights the fact that Brig. Gen Taiwo’s claim is at variance with the minister’s who had claimed last week that the army fired only blank bullets into the air. Furthermore, protesters were depicted running as soldiers opened fire at the toll gate. The National Broadcasting Commission, which is overseen by the Information Minister; had last month slammed hefty fines on three Nigerian television stations; for daring to use some of the footage which CNN has also used. The Federal Government has been receiving flak from members of the United Kingdom Parliament and Amnesty International over the killing of protesters. Meanwhile, former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is set to be named the new Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). 1st News gathered the chances of Okonjo-Iweala brightened after South Korea reportedly decided to withdraw its Trade Minister, Yoo Myung-hee from the race. Accordingly, Seoul is expected to announce this decision in the coming weeks; thereby facilitating the appointment of Okonjo-Iweala, based on sources close to the situation. Korea has already conveyed its decision to the United States; which had been insisting on the selection of Yoo. Part of the reason she was selected by Washington against Okonjo-Iweala is that she is close to the Democratic Party. Washington refused to accept the recommendation made by the selection panel; chaired by General Council Chair Ambassador David Walker that Okonjo-Iweala is the candidate most likely of the two to attract consensus; because she clearly carried the largest support by the members in the final round. https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=qkStuWXgySU https://sable.madmimi.com/c/53196?id=73885273.196598.1.a0821a9cc38dd1e8535656a529d6d0f0 |
Coming from Liar Moham'd, this is hard to believe, it's not credible at all. Any other credible source that can verify this claim? |
lecturer50:How many years have you had that glo mast in your compound? |
Well, that's the least he could do and even though it is not enough to bring back the dead, he should be generous enough to acceed to their demands. I mean, look at that baby that was denied knowing his father. If justice should be served well, that trigger happy DSS monthly salary and his gratuity and pensions when he retires should be slashed in half and released to the victim's family on monthly basis. That's the way it's done in saner climes. This should form a percentage of the 500 million naira. I know a medical doctor here in Nigeria who pays monthly stipend to a family and also pays the school fees of the child who lost the mother during childbirth in the his hospital. This was not even deliberate o, just an unfortunate malpractice incident that led to maternal death. So a murder by a DSS official should carry weightier responsibility. loopman:Please stop this. They lost a life, a breadwinner, a source of hope for the family and a father to that little child. There is nothing that is enough address that tragic loss in the immediate term. Truly life isn't always fair to everyone equally. But as a privileged person, you need to be extra careful that your actions or inactions do not add to the already compounded problems of the less privileged. And if by happenstance, it does by mistake, then please make sure you take responsibilities for such especially when you know that you can afford such responsibility. In saner climes, contrary to what happens in Nigeria, the less privileged are always protected. That is the oil that lubricates national unity, human development and justice. What your post up there suggests is simply encouraging the oppression of the poor by the rich which unfortunately is what holds sway in Nigeria. It has even formed part of your personal value and that is why you see nothing wrong with condemning that family for the lawsuit against gbaja. If Gbajabiamila as a speaker does not earn much, I'm sure the suit wouldn't have demanded that much. But since the politicians in this country feed fat on the citizens, it is only fair that he also pays a chunk as damages, although I know they may eventually settle to something like 150 mil. |
This looks like absolute fallacy. This minister seems to be lying about not having Twitter account. He has always been a liar, so it's kinda hard believing him this time. |
There. You have it.

Maryam that was betrothed to Bongos Ikwe the popular musician before Babangida snatched her off. In other to delete whatever links no matter how remote Maryam had with Bongos, IBB decided to murder the only child she had for the musician. He sang about Maryam in one of his hit songs. Well, so the story goes. I'll wager it's credible, just told in hushed tones because of the powers of IBB military junta. |
mktinsight:National grid supply is meant to provide constant electricity to its customers both in industries and private homes. A large revenue comes from industries that are being supplied while supplies to private homes too is significant. In line with proper reasoning, Kenya Power has apparently thought that it will keep sailing the waters as long as industries and big corporations keep their patronage with them. The trend that is alarming to 'em as rightly stated is the switch to solar power of heavy consuming industrialists (the industries and big corporations) I have always maintained that in Nigeria, the system that may work well is to significantly reduce the domestic load on national grid (since the government does not have the sense to increase capacity impressively and commensurately) and instead providing constant supply to industries and factories. This will drive down production cost of manufactured materials, hence price slash. How do we then supply private homes if the national grid is dedicated more to industries and big corporations? It is simple. The government should provide incentives for private homes to get for 'emselves alternative non-fossil fuel energy sources. Solar products should be made import free and non-taxable or at least the tax reduced significantly while the government can also give interest free solar energy loan re-payable over 10 years for homes that are interested in going alternative energy. This way, more homes will be out of darkness, more of national grid resources will be dedicated to improving power supply to factories, large companies and SMEs that are interested in hooking to the national grid. Even with this emerging trend of more Nigerian homes getting on the AE train and our potential patronage of our massive population, Nigeria should seriously think about local manufacturing of solar products. There are 9ja guys that have passable knowledge of inverter assemblage and a little more training will help 'em up their game to be at par with their counterparts in India, Singapore, Russia and China in that field. But the myopic Nigerian government may see this Kenya trend and try to prevent such by massively hiking tarrifs on imported solar materials or even taxing people using solar (indirectly punishing them for not using PHCN). But whether they like it or not, awareness amongst Nigerians is increasing and it is only a matter of time before majority switch to solar AE at least to power basic home appliances if not to power the entire home. By then, the same fate that befell NITEL will hold PHCN by the jugular and even the government won't be able to save 'em. |
