This sleeping problem is stress related and deep-seated. She has to deal with it first.The question is what is the reason for this sleeping problem, is it stress at work,regrets,heartbreak ,shame,guilt etc.

Ones she is able to fathom the problem and deal with it then she can be free .
If she keep taking sleeping pills one day she will sleep and never wake up.

The only solution i know that can really help her is exercise, eat balanced meal ,take lots of fruits and water then also like someone mentioned read few chapters of the bible especially psalms everyday. But please tell her to flee from sleeping pills that is suicide loading if she continues and it may not even be too long since its been one year .
