Ujunwa02: Do you have your Application Number? If yes, get the Application Confirmation Slip from someone who has it and applied for the same cadre with you, go to a computer centre and edit it with Corel Draw. Make sure you have a passport photograph with you (i.e the passport you used for the registration). On Corel Draw, you are to replace the person's passport photograph and Application Number with yours. Print it in black and white or coloured if you want. If you don't know anybody close to you who has it, simply go to the screening venue, collect the slip from someone and photocopy it, then use the photocopied slip to edit yours at any computer shop you may find at the venue. 3 Likes |

In terms of decision making, Lions are considered one of the most successful hunters because they don't chase all the preys at a time. They strategise properly, choose the most vulnerable prey amongst the herd, isolate it and strike. 3 Likes |

Champella: As an NNPC staff, here is my one-year plan based on the assumption that my (your) salary and allowances are about N500,000 monthly. 1. Save towards getting him a job in 12 months. 2. Open an account and instruct my bank to deny me access to the funds until after 12 months. 3. The amounts to be deposited monthly are as follows: January to February (N100,000 x 2) = N200,000. March to June (N200,000 x 4) = N800,000. July to October (N400,000 x 4) = N1,600,000. November to December (N500,000 x 2) = N1,000,000. Total Sum saved after 12 months = N3,600,000. 4. Look for a genuine contact in an A-list Agency and pay for a job slot for him with the money I saved for 12 months. 5. I would choose NNPC as the agency for my brother since I would have had up to 12 months of experience there. 6. I would make very good and useful contacts here such that getting him a job would be a bit easier. Remember, he's also an Engineer and a Programmer who is equally intelligent with an M.Sc abroad. Alternatively, I would try to get the contacts of my state's FCC Commissioner, Senator from my constituency and House of Representatives Member and submit my CV to them. Good luck! 12 Likes |

Adiadi1: Let's look at this situation from a footballing perspective. We are two central defenders trying to defend against two strikers in a counter attack and we are almost close to our penalty area. I am defender A, intelligent, faster and with a good positioning skill (NNPC Engineer), while my elder brother is defender B, intelligent, stronger and with a good positioning skill like myself (Programmer). As defender A (intelligence, pace and positioning = NNPC Engineer), I would man-mark the striker with the ball without letting him out-turn me from the middle to be through on goal, try to make him drift away from the penalty area to the side. By taking the striker with the ball sideways, I have the options of out-muscling him and winning the ball outrightly or kicking the ball out for a throw-in or corner-kick so that our team-mates can come back and defend in their numbers. My brother as defender B (intelligent, stronger with good positioning = Programmer), will also man-mark the second striker without the ball. There is no way this second striker will out-muscle him. If my brother and I were to mark the striker with the ball (using my details to get him the Customs job), we will be punished sooner or later. The second striker will be free and the striker with the ball will see the space to pass to him. Boom! He's one-on-one with our goalkeeper. Even if we adopt a zonal marking system, the striker with the ball can make a through pass or play a one-two with him. Again, one-on-one with our goalkeeper and they would still score. What I would do for my brother to get him a job is contained in my next post. 1 Like |

kingbusy: Is there a way you could talk to your Supervisor, Team Lead or Manager as the case may be, to permit you to be absent on the days you have an examination? This is an unofficial method that can work if you know the right persons in your company. Your job is as important as your career progression. You just need to do the right thing now before it is too late so you won't regret it later. If push comes to shove, then you will need to do something extra. I am assuming that finance is not your problem, but time. I suggest you look for a good school in the village which is not far from where you work, but has a record for good results for students who had written the examination in that school. Make sure you know who the Principal is and some teachers there. In your absence, someone can write for you. All you need to do is have enough money. The truth is that so many people in the civil service and in the private sector are working with either forged results or do not even have it. Good luck! 1 Like |

Softcash: Hi Suleiman, For you to study in any Nigerian University, you must have at least a "C" grade in your O'Level in Mathematics, English Language and any other three subjects relevant to your course. If the grades in your O'Level are not impressive, please sacrifice another year, work hard, register for another O'Level examination and make your papers by having A's and B's. You stand to gain more if you make very good grades in your O'Level examination. Some of the benefits are: 1. Ease of gaining admission into your desired course when computed with your UTME and Post UTME results because it is in one sitting. 2. You will have a better understanding of those subjects since you have gone through them already. This will help you in your first year of study and subsequent years in the university. 3. By having a good result, you are already qualified for scholarships in the first and second year. Examples include: Exxon Mobil, NLNG, PTDF, MTN, etc. These scholarships provide you with financial rewards and are renewable based on your performance in the remaining years of your study. 4. Once your graduate, you are eligible for recruitment in multinational corporations because they always state that in their requirements. Example: Shell, Total, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, etc. 5. If you want to study abroad at the undergraduate or post graduate level on scholarship, your O'Level will help you as well. Example is the Common Wealth Scholarship. 6. To be recruited into government-owned institutions in Nigeria, you need your O'Level too. You can check recruitments into these organisations: NNPC, Nigeria Customs Service, DPR, etc. 7. It is also a thing of pride to have very good grades in any examination. It is not a waste of time to do the right thing. Do not let the level of mediocrity in this country make you do what you will regret later in life. Please, go back to the drawing board and fix these things as soon as possible. Good luck. |

loppy87: 1. For those who applied for the Sports Department, what are the qualifications required to be employed? 2. How many people in this country studied sports related courses in Colleges of Education, Polytechnics or Universities? 3. What will be the criteria used to employ an applicant into the Sports Department of the Nigeria Customs Service? I have other questions for you, but please answer these ones first. 1 Like |

adajiboyy: I wish it was just straight forward as you put it. Getting back to at least 30% of the fitness level I had then would take a whole lot. The current economic realities in the country is not helping matters at all. There are so many talents wasting in this country, not just in football. The odds are just against them. So many players are making it outside this country because they were either fortunate to be born there or had relatives who took them there. I have a friend who is so good on and off the ball. He plays as a central or an attacking midfielder. His first touch is out of this world. He makes the game look so pleasing to the eyes. If you watch him play you would think he plays for Barcelona. Sadly, with all his abilities, he can't go far because he has not come in contact with that person who would give him that opportunity. |
