Adamskuty: majority,yes! undecided about 80percent.

Yar'adua looks different for jonathan.

Same with buhari,sanusi lamido sanusi,babangida,abdulsalam e.t.c

what's ur point actually?
So you don't know my point and you're quoting me? Those people you listed are not even Hausa. It's better you know what an issue is about before jumping in.

Fulaman198: Let me tell you something else as a Fulani man. Your false belief that Fulani look different too is false. Being the most widespread ethnic group in Africa, we have features that are diverse even within the same ethnic group. If you believe that we are light complexioned when the majority of us are not, then you don't have much interaction with Fulani people. From Baaba Maal a Senegalese Fulani to Former president of Cameroon Ahmadu Ahidjo, there is no particular way a Fulani looks. We have the most subgroups in an of west Africa.
I infact understand the diversity of the Fulani people across West Africa. There was a time I even suspected Yaya Toure was Fulani( i haven't confirmed). The thing is, I just said what was enough to answer that gentleman. And i don't think what I said was wrong. Or can you honestly say the Hausa look different from most other Nigerian tribes?

ugotuf: If for nothing else but for the sake of their ba3, they still hold an unbeaten record on ba3s.
Nokia fones(java n symbian, dunno about the Windows) mostly have far lower capacity batterys than the android fones of the other brands. It's just that the android Os is a power hungry one. For instance Nokia C5 has a 1050mAh battery which lasts long but is too small for even the smallest android fones.

cadanre: I feel sorry for you because you are envious of Hausas beauty. Whether you aggree or not, they are beautiful, and everyone knows that, except people like you who envy them.
I don't "envy" the Hausa. I don't hate either. I've got very good Hausa friends. I just pointed out the mistake people make in confusing the Hausa with the Fulani. The real Hausa have the same features as other Nigerian tribes(unless you want to dishonestly disagree).

cadanre: I love Igbos too because they are the only one who tries to makes money by whatever means. They are the first people to build baby factories (Abia, Imo and Enugu) where women are being impregnated (Recent case of Dr. Uzoma in Imo) and whe they deliver, they were paid 100k for the babies. Business is good.
You were angry when I made a honest and unbiased post devoid of insult about the Hausa and here you are insulting Igbos(I'm not even Igbo) to high heavens. Look at yourself in a mirror please!

Education › Re: ASUU- FG Withdraws Ultimatum For Striking Lecturers by Chartey(m): 8:35am On Dec 11, 2013
BADNEAT: in as much as I'm not a fan of the Jonathan administration, I must say they used a good strategy here. ..by issuing the sack ultimatum and getting students and over 70percent of lecturers back to school, ,the ultimatum has achieved its aims...
Jonathan of all people knw there was no way he could sack and recruit new lecturers just like that..it'll take several month for them to fit in...he also knw that the sack threat was going to get most lecturers back to school. ...lecturers of which 80percent of them are no longer in support of the strike action needed nothing more than a reason to go back to school. .and Jonathan gave them that...with the sack threat..the ASUU chapters cannot firmly say they've been betrayed by the lecturers. ...JONAH USED HIS HEAD
Forget that 70%. Mr Okupe apparently got that number from the sky. I've been in school throughout the strike and not a single lecturer taught a class. "Resuming" isn't the right word for the lecturers as many of them stay in and around the school and go to their offices often anyway.

Ibyno: FG - ASUU just keep fooling nigerians , my uncle in senate said that any time ASUU and fg gather together, they collect sitting allowance ,so to them, they just prefer the allowance and don't want the strike to end, so who is fooling who now ?
Is your uncle a senator or just a worker at NASS? If he's a senator, tell him they're the ones fooling Nigerians the most. If he's just a worker, tell him to shut up instead of saying what he does not understand.

Jarus: My honest take on ABU-OAU debate.

AESTHETICS: I have been to both school. I finished from OAU, have a sister that finished from ABU, but had also been to OAU, and confirmed OAU is more beautiful. I think OAU is better. OAU has more eye-popping structures, ABU structures are mostly ordinary, but I think they do well in terms of maintenance of their environment, lawns etc. If OAU was how it was when I left in 2006, I will say ABU has better maintenace culture. But I was there again last year and saw that they've really improved in that aspect too. I was surprised to see the lawns better maintained, etc. We should also not forget that OAU lays claim to being the most beautiful university in Africa unchallenged(and used to be actually, until recently when it becomes arguable). If it wasn't, this epithet would not have survived for so long. In fact, it was rated the 25th most beautiful estate in the world in 1985 or so. We can not say all these are just hype by OAU alumni. It must have substance for it to have endured so long. I think it is only in this our generation that the comparison begins to surface. Over all, I think OAU beats ABU in terms on beauty.

LAND MASS: I used to think OAU had the biggest land mass, but I have been confronted with convincing evidence to give this to ABU. Although, this cannot be confirmed by just mere visit that I did, but I think wiki entry is sufficient. Wiki says ABu has the largest land mass. Mohammed Haruna, the Nation columnist, also described it as such in his tribute to ABU at 50. Another testimony to the fact that OAU trumps ABU in terms of beauty is, all articles that eulogise ABU with great superlatives, from wiki entry to Mohammed Haruna's tribute to school's official articles, did not mention it as being the most beautiful, but conveniently hammered on it being the largest in sub-saharan Africa. It is only in informal gossips like this that we compare ABU with OAU in terms of beauty. Also, I don't think OAU students dispute ABU having a larger land mass. So, it is indisputable that ABU trumps OAU in land mass.

ALUMNI: I think ABU and UNN have the richest alumni list in Nigeria. But the reason is actually no brainer: While the North and east had respectively ABU and UNN only in the golden generation of scholarship in Nigeria (60's-70's), the West had UI, Unilag and OAU to share its bright minds. So, taken individually, I think ABU has the most intimidating list of alumni in Nigeria, followed by UNN, and then by UI, Unilag and Ife in no order. The first graduate president of Nigeria, Yar'adua, for example, is an ABU alumnus. I don't want to start rolling out others, but I am personally convinced ABU trumped OAU in terms of intimidating alumni

RECENT PRODUCTS: As is evidenced from this thread where products of OAU and ABU are murdering grammar in an embarrassing fashion, it is obvious that both schools, like many other Nigerian schools, are losing it. I am a product of OAU and of course know many very sound products of OAU of my generation, but I know very good guys from ABU too, smart guys.

ACADEMICS: I think down here, we underrate ABU. Forget about Boko Haram, forget about the general perception about the north, ABU has always been and is still in the same class with the UIs, OAUs, UNNs and Unilags of the south. I have studied products of the school and I make bold to say they compete well with us.

Conclusion: I did my first degree in OAU. I am a great fan of OAU and believe OAU brings out your potential more than any other school in Nigeria. If I were to do first degree again, I will still easily choose OAU. I may not be able to argue that OAU is the best school in Nigeria, but if I were to advise younger ones, I will tell them to try OAU, not only because of what they will learn in classes but what they will learn beyond classes on campus campus. But ABU ranks second in terms of my personal respect. They have very quality lecturers. I wont mind taking a second degree in ABU.
The man Jarus himself. You almost succeeded in making me change my mind with your comment. Everything is true except the 1st point. I hope to see you here soon for that second degree.

Am I the only one who sincerely thinks this is a white elephant? How many people in the "international market" speak these languages? If China or India does this, it's fine because they have at least a billion people each who understand Mandarin/Cantonese and Hindi. But how many people speak Yoruba and Igbo in the whole world? Hausa may be ok though.

dheaven: If they must have a car before you teach them that means you are not ready for free training cos anyone that have a car might have learnt how to drive before buying it or have made arrangement for the training. be sincere please
I think the op doesn't want a damaged car after teaching for free. It's understandable that he wants people have(not necessarily theirs) cars so that when they damage them, they'll be responsible for the repairs. And he's still rendering a very good service for free here, people should appreciate that.
It can also be that he doesn't have the resources to start up a driving school yet but wants to build a loyal network of pioneer clients who'll refer him to prospective clients which is a smart and honest move.

uceee: I am not saying that your school is not beautiful. It is obviously a very well planned, beautiful school. But most of these pic you posted seem to have been taken immediately after the structures were built. Some even look like 3D plans. Its not realistic that a Nigerian university, managed and used by Nigerians is this neat (notice that I used the word neat, not beautiful) Pics that show those places in use will show a fairer picture.
Also, Structures, roads and flowers alone don't make a good school. Where are the learning equipment?
No beefing, I'd like all Nigerian units to be truly beautiful.
Ucee, i understand you, but part of what i wanted show is the so much above average(not perfect) maintenance culture in ABU. These buildings are just as they are in the pics. In fact, my faculty looks much better in real life. There are new buildings built and being built within the last two years in every faculty and the pics of those are not even included.
If you can get internet pictures of any university in this country as good as these, please bring them. At least, there can't be pictures of structures that don't exist.
