God rest their souls. It's such a sad event happening at this point in time...

I'll still sound it to prospective building owners, try not to cut cost and not compare your engineer/architect to cut corners for you. Make sure you follow due process from planning stage to construction stage down to finishing stage..

If you intend to build a bungalow try to get a good architectural design. Here u don't need a structural design for it

While if you intend to build a
duplex/high-rise building make sure you obtain the architectural drawings and also structural drawings, M&E also applicable and make sure it's been followed as specificied by the structural engineer. Why am saying it is most times you hear clients say i don't need a structural design for this project engineer use ur experience to build it for me Dats the Nigerian way we like to cut corners alot which most times doesn't end well as the end result isn't always a sight to behold. Let's follow due process always and save ourselves from impending doom. God-bless

I want to believe you are not a professional, you should be reported to the appropriate bodies. What do you mean by you don't need structural drawing for a bungalow. A building is an engineering product and MUST be executed by an Engineer. Do we blame the country when ARCHITECTS and QS are specifying structural elements. To those who care and live in waterlogged environment please get an Engineer irrespective of the size of your building. Every building is unique, don't listen to I HAVE DONE IT 100 TIME IN 1000 CITIES.
Forget those beautiful renders and models, get an Engineer on your project irrespective of size.

Naira Marley partnered with sujimotos for this project

The project is a high-rise project. From the 3-d model looks like 10-12 story building.

The building is going to house

Virtual golf bar simulation
Restaurants
Crèche
Pediatrician hospital

This looks like Lucrezia or Guliano by Sijumoto. You can only buy a part of this property. Owned by many investors.

Travel / Re: Canada Hype And Travel Rush: Here Are Things You Need To Know by ChevKing(m): 11:56pm On Jan 11, 2021
Princewill1:
The high successes recorded by dubious politicians, fraudulent pastors and ponzi scheme operators in Nigeria are living proofs that Nigerians can be so gullible. We can easily be deceived. The astronomical hype on Canada is the latest deceit in town. Here are things you need to know before immigrating.

1. The list of richest Nigerians is filled with Nigerians living at home. You're more likely to make it into Forbes if you live in Nigeria. At least that's what the stat shows, whether people making into Forbes in Nigeria are engaging in corrupt practices is a story for another day. The odds of becoming a dollar billionaire favours those at home . No Diaspora Nigerian has ever made it into Forbes billionaire list.

2. There are more money to be made in a developing economy than in a developed economy. That's why as you're rushing out of the country, Lebanese, Indians and Chinese are rushing in. Only few will understand. You're sitting on the biggest market in Africa yet you haven't realize this but the Lebanese and the Indians knew this.

3. If you are the type who don't fancy working for others, it's much more easier to own a business in Nigeria than in Canada/US. Western countries were set up for the 99% populace to work for 1% elites. Their education systems were designed to produce workforce for the rat race. Not to create employers of labour.

4. It's stupidity to resign from a high-paying job in Nigeria in a bid to relocate to Canada/US. Your eyes will get clear up when you start facing the hard realities in Canada. Those who had made this mistake in the past are ashamed to come on social media to talk about it. The ones talking on Twitter are 'freshers' who just arrived.

5. If you want to secure 2nd passport for your kids, you don't necessarily need to immigrate to achieve this. There are other ways, one method is overseas child birth.

6. You're 5x more likely to be shot and rubbed in New York than in Lagos. Poor neighborhoods all over the world has more crime rates. The thing is, when you finally made it in Nigeria, you can move to high brow areas with lesser crime.

7. Nigerians are spending up to 8millions ($21k) and above to immigrate to Canada/US whereas an average canadian or American citizen can't boast of $10k in their bank A/C's. They live pay check to pay check.

8. Some Nigerians claims that they ain't relocating because of the money but because of good infrastructure, good health care system, value for their money etc. That's a lie! 98% of Nigerians who're eager to travel out are relocating because of economic reasons. There are good infrastructure, good health care system and value for money in countries like Kuwait, Russia, Brazil, South Korea, Chile etc but Nigerians ain't trooping there, indicating that their preference for Canada/US is purely based on economic reasons.

9. It's cheaper to live in Nigeria. Canada/US promises higher minimum wage but the system will still take it away from you. It's like giving you with one hand and taking from you with another. $2k (N760k) will pay for your one year rent of 2 bedrooms apartment in a good location in Nigeria but same amount will only fetch you one month rent of a match box apartment in Canada/US.

10. This is not to stop you from traveling out but to inform you on the true realities. Economic immigration should be left for lower or working class who're struggling or to young lads who wants to school abroad and thereafter further their career overseas. Not to deceive Nigerians already earning good in corporate offices in Nigeria to resign and relocate where they will be employed as security guards or to deceive business owners who's businesses are thriving in Nigeria to close down business and relocate. Don't let them deceive you with the hype. Money don't grow on trees anywhere in the world.

Alaaye!
The Indian, Chinese and Lebanese are here to used our looted funds, they are backed by the mighty. They are FRONTERS used by our treasury looters, if they came as normal businessmen, they can't survive.

If you have money please leave or get a 2nd citizenship.

IPOBian, what is your business with Lagos to the extent you are throwing personal insults innapropriately ?

There is no genuine and well-meaning Lagosians who does not appreciate the damage unplanned and unapproved construction is doing to Lagos.

Most times people who put up or use these illegal constructions are given countless notices, over a long period of time, yet "they were never informed" is their standard response when the demolition team shows up.

Lagos should be supported always, not insulted, to do the right thing that benefits all users of the State regardless of whose Ox is gored.

It is a new Year. Some of you should look at yourselves and the many things you are doing wrong in your lives that I'll have a negative impact on your progress, that of your household and generations to come.

Celebrities / Re: The Misguided Hate On Nigerian Rich Kids - Opinion by ChevKing(m): 3:47pm On Dec 31, 2020
Freemasonry:
I've come to understand that it's almost normal for the hoi polloi to hate privileged people. I don't really understand the psychology behind that but I know it's unhealthy and silly. Instead of misdirecting such misguided hate on people whose fathers made money why not hate your father who couldn't make it.

Take for instance, a few years ago Paddy Adenuga had published an inspiring article where he shared his struggles in business and how he succeeded, but in a bizarre twist of narrative the haters attacked him and alluded to the fact that his father's money did this and did that.

Shortly after, Dj Cuppy was also bullied online by people who believes she has no business being a dj, let alone a popular one at that. To them it's her affluent background that's doing the trick not her talent.

The same with Davido. No matter what he does, how many awards he wins, or cool tunes he drops, he'll never be good enough for these people who believe he didn't earn his place at the table.

Instead, they revere and respect those they think are from the streets even when these people are nothing short of mediocre. A case in point is the current frosty relationship between Davido and Burna boy, how did it all start? Both of them were chummy until Burna boy made a disparaging remark about Davido's father buying fame for him. This was not only in bad taste but smacks of obvious jealousy. That you struggled to climb up the ladder due to lack does not make you better, or mean that those who have the resources to advance their dreams or careers must suffer like you before their talents can be validated.

And if the eyewitness account in the media is anything to go by, then it’s obvious that this unfortunate incident was all Burna boys doing. He showed up at the club with 6 hired goons and went straight to the VIP section where Davido was sitting to confront him. Although this is yet to be verified but judging from Burna boy’s propensity for violence it is highly probable that is what happened.

It’s time people do away with this wrong notion that privileged kids don’t deserve what they have. No matter how hard they work there’s always someone who thinks that without their money they’d probably not make it that far, but nothing could be farther from the truth. These kids work just as hard as the poor kids, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with using what you have to advance yourself. I mean you can’t hate on these kids just for being rich as if they’re the ones that stopped your father from making money. It’s wrong and it’s in bad taste.

Instead of hating divert that energy into making money so your kids won’t be just like you. Shout out to David. Keep keeping it a 100.

Hello Mr. AUTHOR.
This your article is one sided. Your examples are rather insufficient and inadequate to make such a conclusion about 'the street's ' disposition towards rich kids.
May I pull you down the memory lane, this same industry has had people like Charly Boy, Ikechuckwu, JJC, NAETO C, D Banj, just to mention a few who had a fair background before foray into music nobody came for their neck or had issues with them, look Mr.Author, the game has evolved from just a game for the street to a mega hustle ground for all cadre. However, just like every field of practice, you must show respect and honour those who have been in the game, it's a competition for fame and acceptance which money can buy to an extent, you don't on the basis of that spit on everyone's face. Honour and respect those who have paid their dues in the game through hardworking. Everybody can't just be saying saying same thing about you all the time, you need to check your self, mature and grow.

The problem with Lekki Expressway is that it is the only road servicing that area and Lagos state erred a bit by allowing the concession company to fence the road. If the govt can open up inner roads from Maroko to Ajah and from Lekki Phase 1 to Elegushi to Badore, it will be ok.

Very intelligent and factual contribution. You must be an engineer, 25years concession on a road that the government should have co-funded and pay gradually.

Nigerian Govt has been slaving her people in the name of policy and 'yeye projects'

With the increased costs of going to the university, i am just wondering whether it is worth it any more. Stories about graduates struggling to find employment and with more and more alternative routes being developed, is it still worth getting a degree?

Is it true that there are so many graduates these days that employers are now looking for work experience?

Nowadays, it is the people that didn't not go through the university that are employing graduates. #FACT

Graduates are no more getting jobs like before when university was university, after spending so much time, spending money just to learn, you later come back to square one in becoming a business owner. #FACT

Most people are getting jobs on what they didn't even read in school just to earn a living.

Nowadays work that human beings are supposed to do, it being done by robots..

I am thinking of collecting my five years tution fees and also school hostel rent fee and course materials money from my parent to start up a business.
