Kumuyi like everyone of us is work in progress. Most Christians especially and unfortunately wrote the path to God on stone leading to spiritual crystallises. By this, I mean they feel all they know is all that there is and there is no room for change. This is Death if you are not open to change.

Kumuyi should be given a path on the shoulder for being that bold for an person he is. He had lead people a path that isn't really to the good of their spiritual life and is being bold to make a change. What is that path not good for them? The idea that feeling of being uptight, stiff, mortifying the flesh and self-denial is Righteousness.

As an ECKists, l would say Righteousness and Holiness are aftermaths of Realizations or real-life experience rather than beliefs of the many levels of what the church calls the Holy Spirit. That person would normally mingle and give Love to ALL creatures of God and see them for what they ALL no matter their religion or lack of it. That is righteousness!

My personal views.

My mum still is one of the millions influenced by Kumuyi of Deeper Life Church. Though I am today an ECKist (student of ECKANKAR), I still put in an ear in the Church. After all, it is where it all began in this life time--my very own personal search for Truth or God.

As a kid, it beats me even now how this was the reason a present day people would stop wearing earrings. I thought going by that analogy, we could do away with several other things like having nothing to do with Egypt, Arabs, women (Eve), second borns (Cain), Wear no shoes, Sunday service, Neckties, etc.

Being a son of one, l could say a Deeper Life person and the likes (Chosen, etc) sees the other Christian same way Arab Muslims perceive their black counterparts or how a Hausa Muslim perceives a Yoruba Muslim--with condescension

You could see this on the thread here on Nairaland the names the protesting guy called the musicians from another kind of church. We call this 'spiritual arrogance' where I learn. The perpetrator is actually flouting one of the law of Love " its not puffed up, does not raise it self above the other..." But these guys do not look beyond their noses because that's the very sauce that makes their 'Holiness' feel and seem right.

Setting goals and achieving them spiritually and physically works for anyone so long as they could follow simple processes.
It works whether anyone believes in a God or not. Religion protagonists would not like this statement, but they only need to be humble and look around...God's or Nature's law are algorithms. Simply apply them and they would work no matter who is applying it.

How people set goals and achieve them spiritually may go like this:

You are looking for a marriage partner or so. None is forthcoming or you are in doubt as to which or who.
You wonder about it at work and fell asleep thinking.
Suddenly you're with someone in your little sleep chatting and enjoying life in this cool place in the dream.
The person tells you their name and you guys are having a very emotive time and then someone walks in to wake you up from that experience.

The experience though short-lived leaves you feeling on top of the world through out the day and you keep wondering...
Some days later, you run in to that sweetheart in the physical world...and it happens. Then you'll be like wow, what is happening?

What you just did is to meet your future lover in a dream (Spiritual) and completing the manifestation circle in the physical.
People have secured contracts, got jobs, got elected, meet their unborn children or ask them to come to their life this way.
This is actually how anyone got whatever they have in this material world. Most are just not aware of the process.

And then a beast on four legs came and swept us off our feet. We knelt down under the rain( storms and battles of life) and we never ceased to pray.

And then the clouds opened again, we were expecting the Lord but it wasn't the Lord this time , but another form of darkness visited the earth to deceive many. As the clouds opened in a circle format, there came out of it , a huge space ship .On the body of this spaceship was attached many spherical crafts like UFOs .

The crafts were visibly suspended in the sky, they hovered and flew around the earth and everyone on earth saw it. It was an alien invasion . While being confused, i woke up from that vision and it was 7:30am in the morning, and the Lord ministered to me, that it is the duty of the faithfuls to tarry , to keep watch inspite of the darkness that will plague the earth.The church will be unwavered , tho many that are not rooted will be deceived and the love of many will wax cold for the things of God, but HE IS ON THE WAY! She and I are not getting married to a religion (Christianity or Eckankar), we are marrying ourselves and the main basis is Love not religion. If there is peace in the house, it is because of the love that reigns not religion.
Religion guarantees nothing from earth to heaven but Love. Even the bible teaches that all is nothing without love.

Eckankar teaches you that after death, the only thing you must present at the gate of heaven is Love. It will determine the kind of heaven you will go to. "How come?" Because like Paul in the bible, Eckists "die daily" and visit heaven while still alive and see things for themselves rather than reading about judgement and heaven from books. Seeing is believing and experience is the best teacher whether in heaven or on earth!

Eckists also know (not believe) that soul cannot be 'lost' as you imagine, and the reason any soul lives whether they be good people or not is because God Loves them without a shadow of string attached to it and it is in the love a saint and "sinner" are all sustained. Kindly note that this Love is not something that will end in the "last day" as you're taught, it is for eternity!!! It is perfect just like the Ultimate God.
