Where do i start from? It's happening all over again. I pleaded with my sister yesterday to send something for me to enjoy the Christmas and to hold my pocket till we resume at the office. As the diabolic spirit in me will have it, it lured me to take the money along to a bet9ja shop where i planned to charge my phone. While waiting idly for the phone to get filled up, i got tempted (as usual) to try one or two games to improve my fortune. I won an extra 10k from virtual. Instead of me to flee and use the total of 15k wisely, i played on and lost it all. My eyes are clear. My penitence now won't save me. It's going to be a black Christmas/miserable holiday for me |
chinchonglee:itel2173. It's a small torchlight phone with operamini i was using alongside the big phone |
Hmm. Just back from a bet9ja shop. I lost my 15k salary on virtual. And the month is just beginning. Also traded my power bank and android phone to bet. I feel so empty and traumatised |
Kirchoffs:nah |
imagrg:hmm. religion. I have a dwindling faith. I am sceptical about it's efficacy too |
Stephenmoka4:how? You must be new on nairaland not to know what I have passed through for long |

lefulefu:What more can I say? this life is a mystery |
Cerebellum:hmm. the username stuck. it's analogous to my nomenclature. i can't even delete. forgot the mail's password. so, i always go back to this account, even when I say I will not use it again |
Kirchoffs:oh |
Meedon:ah. I sure hope it can be reversed. many youths in my generation have lost focus. Not only me |
Ahmad62:hmm ![]() |
NobleSeed:just my life misfortunes, nothing more |
PenuelFarms:hmmm. fate? |
GodWrites:my life is a joke |
Uzomacharles:pardon me. I use those dictions so it sticks to me. Practice makes perfect |
*the spirit of masturbation* I have been masturbating for ten years now. I started off naively and experimentally. Now, it's hard to let go. The thought/fear of stopping the act, even makes me commit the act more. Before now, i used every little opportunity to jerk off. It started with sex chat on 2go back in the days. Now I masturbate to anything. My thoughts, a person I fantasize of, porn, phone intimacy etc. I have done the act almost everywhere. On the bed, the toilet, parlour, office, at a friend's place etc. Before now, I only jerk off when I need to sleep or when I am frustrated from betting loss. No timetable again. The world is a bitter and cruel place. It's my only source of joy. Once I jerk off, I sleep to forget the pain. I always look for an opportunity to get home for it. More like a stimulant for the day. I have used everything available to 'soapy'. Rocking pillow, bare hands, groundnut oil, Vaseline, saliva, hair cream, panties etc. As a result, I have a weak erection. I know I may not be 'man enough' in my marriage, but I can't help it. I get pains around my pelvic region and back, coupled with blurred vision, loss of weight and balance. What do I do? Youths of this generation are slaves to their addictions. We just keep pushing ourselves like that. Only God can help us |
*carbonated drinks addiction* Since 2008, I find it hard doing without drinking sugary minerals. It's either Pepsi or coke. Any time I am excited, stressed out or need energy after chronic masturbation, I take pepsi, mostly with junk food. At the height of it, I take up to 3 Pepsi daily. My mum gate-crashes parties where she organises food and drinks for me. She brought three can coke from a burial ceremony. I took one last night and one this morning. I will likely take another one later today with whatever I eat. It is always refreshing to take sweet things. I only eat sweet biscuits too (like pure bliss). I currently have some discomfort in the lower left and right side of my abdomen. I just pray I don't get diabetes or kidney problems. I urinate often and kind of feel numb in my lower limbs at times. I get dehydrated a lot and blurred vision. Even when I take bitter leaf (as advised) to regulate my body, I still go back to sweet things. Hmm. Irresistible attraction |
*betting* Seems all the partial recovery I make from betting addiction is ephemeral. There is always an inner yearning to go back to bet9ja shops. Staying at home or going to work does not give as much joy as staying in betshops. When at betshops, I am treated to comical and 'lively' interactions by my fellow frustrated bet addicts. We laugh away our pains for that moment. I get to sit comfortably under the fans there, charge my phone (standby generator) and watch the latest movies/musics. I won't lie, currently at a betshop in Warri. When I manage to win at times (no matter how little), I get big Pepsi and Bread and eat well. The winning feeling is so good. If not that we don't know when to stop betting when on winning streak, it would have been good. The addiction then makes me and other lowlifes to gamble with money that is not ours, in a bid to recover our losses. This has always put me in trouble. I pray I always find a way out of using people's money, to avoid being tortured. Who else has noticed that when hungry, standing behind those who win soccer virtual at bet9ja shop, can give you something to eat. A day, after losing all I have, I beg between 300 - 500 naira from 'temporary winners' which I use to entertain myself. Hmm. Penny wise, pounce foolish though |
Self-control, discipline, diligence, morality, responsibility, humility, accountability, reliability and so on. Most of the aforementioned qualities of a good child/employee, is alien to 80 percent of the youths in my generation. I find those virtuous traits difficult to attain, no matter how I try. It is more like I am living a predetermined life of evil, lust and pending doom. I find myself in a powerless situation where my body impulses reject what is right, and court what is bad or unhealthy. Surprisingly, I mainly derive joy from these uncouth and unfavourable vices. Below are some obnoxious spontaneous acts I do often, which could lead to my downfall: |
@chukwudidamian I noticed you were trying to send me a message. I can't access my mail. you can drop your PM on this abandoned thread |
motionarena:I'm sorry sir. I am a work in progress. I just made a pledge to myself and God that I won't gamble for the remaining 75 days of the year. I will Start from there |
thesicilian:dishonest, kind of. I only do that to feed my addiction. But I am not lazy sir. I am one of the most committed/hardworking teachers in any place I work |
I wonder why I only feel relaxed after I lose what I have. These days, youths are no longer guaranteed of living long as our forefathers of old. So many exuberances that could lead to our waterloo. There is internet fraud, mistaken identity, stray bullet from sporadic shots, rituals, strange illnesses, impersonation, wrong accusations, temptation to rape, date or sleep with pedophiles, lynching because of public stealing, violence, drug addiction, gambling, abortion etc. My realistic prayer is to make it to 30 years before something takes my life. I will resume church service again by tomorrow to seek God's intervention |
This life I have chosen or which I am addicted to, might take my life sooner than later. I have seen people lose their life's savings, lose their properties, get arrested or lose their life in the process. I am 28 and will clock 29 in January. With the way I am going, only God knows. I already have kidney problems due to too many sugary junk food I patronize any time I am down. I also have partially blurred vision and back pains resulting from chronic masturbation after I lose all I have. I'm scared I am towing the former life again that made me flee benin to warri in order not to be killed by some cult guys for gambling with their leader's phone. Hmm. Maybe what I need is living under a mentor who can help me reconstruct my life. Or maybe gamblers like me need to be avoided as we could cause more harm to those that show us love. |
Currently in the midst of lowlives like me in a bet9ja shop, talking about our misfortunes and laughing to our misfortunes. If bet9ja was to give awards to the most miserable youths via their platform, I would be in top 10 on the list. Don't pity me again. Some of us are lost while others are making a way for themselves. Maybe I should stop working and block any means of seeing money till I restore my mental sanity. Hmm. But my mum is at a breaking point. She wouldn't feed me regularly or provide my needs. What other option do I have? |
Back from a bet9ja shop after playing bet9ja virtual. I lost 4500 naira I convinced the ss 3 students in the school i work to save with me. I just couldn't stand thinking of my pending debts with no way to settle them. The money I was keeping for them was the only way I could think of solving the pertubing problems I had. I owe the woman that sells close to my school about 7000 naira. My director's remaining debt is 28,500. I was tired of working without pay. I needed a way out. Until a good job or breakthrough comes, I may never change. This is my fate. I am doomed for life. For now, my addiction to bet9ja virtual is stronger than my will to stop it. I was foolish not to have played a bet slip of about 500 and save the rest for the students or for upkeep. |
Uzomacharles:bet9ja virtual. The amount is not what i am worried about. The disappointment is that i have betrayed the promise I made to myself to stop. If you read my past threads, you will see that I 'used to be' a chronic gambler |
uniqueboi1:hmm very valid statement. Some fled home because of this. Some from landlord to tenant, some sell their shops, some get into problems with daredevils and law enforcement agencies. I'm alive is a miracle. I hope to pull out for good and live to tell the story |
Xoly:it's beyond comprehension. Gambling cripples one's ambition and rational thinking, irrespective of class, age or gender |
emeijeh:I corrected it. It was an error from my phone that changed 'naira' to 'nails' |
motionarena:thank you sir. You have brightened my mood and made me forget the hurt of yesterday. God bless you |
