You didn't do something stupid
You're just stupid
hmm.. Deep down, there is a good man behind my ugly character. My stupidity is partly caused by my mum who would always pamper me when being scolded by my dad for a wrong action. I am still trying to learn the hard way, to reconstruct my life. I used to have the entitlement ego that anything I want I get. If only I had self-control and was disciplined from the start

I thought I had changed. Hmm. I feel worthless and empty again. I went to the bet shop with 800 naira. My intention was just to go there and charge my phone. There has been an epileptic power supply in my area.

Unfortunately, I played virtual with the 800 naira while trying my luck. This sent a big shock into my body. I had to look for ways to 'recover' my money. I ran home and begged one of my neighbours to buy the fancy music player I had for 3000 naira. This is something I bought with over 13k. To cut the long story short, I am just back from the bet shop. I lost the money too.

I feel distraught and ashamed of myself. My rehabilitation has collapsed. You are free to pour in your insults

RomanceRe: I Will Never Forgive Myself by ChildOfDoom(op):
I am 28 years old but betting has pushed my life back to when I was just 16 years with nothing. That was when i just finished secondary school. No babe, no investment, no house of my own, no proper qualification, no decent clothing, nothing. When ever I go out, I live in regret of what my life would have been if I had spent all I amassed in 6 years well. I am a low-life now. At times, I eat Eba and egusi at local restaurants. It hardly exceeeds 250 naira due to my budget. At times, after eating, I would imagine the kind of food I would have eaten if I saved all the money I made. When I wear torn or patched clothes out, and I see my mates well-dressed and glowing, I imagine the kind of designers clothes I could have been able to get with the money I raised overtime. When I visit people who have attractive interiors/houses, I begin to imagine how I would have had a house of mine with a sound system and flat screen T.V. All my dreams are dashed now till God knows when. I use an obsolete TECNO f2 whose 2000mhz battery has become so weak. I could have easily bought the new infinix zero8 if I had planned well. I remain downcast in sober reflection. Everything I see reminds me of my mistakes.

If i had graduated with my mates in 2015, maybe I would have got a good job by now and saved a lot for marriage, if not for the 'demonic bet9ja virtual' i was introduced to that year. Imagine if I had bought a firman generator with that money as well as dstv for comfort at home with mama. Mama would have been proud. I wouldn't have to pay 50 naira to watch football outside. I feel less human and like one unable to think for himself. Maybe staying humbled will help me overcome.

Well... I hope to update you guys again by the beginning of November on my progress. I set a target of 6 months without gambling for my renaissance.
RomanceRe: I Will Never Forgive Myself by ChildOfDoom(op): 6:22pm On Oct 02, 2020
I could have been arrested or beaten up if not for my employer who stood for me. My past assiduousess was why he liked me. Not only did I squander all the money I made in the first six months of the year, I also gambled with some of my candidates enrollment money in my desperation. By March 2020, I had gambled off about 101,500 naira that wasn't mine. I had to open up to my mum to join me and beg my director to cover up for me till I paid back. It has not been easy. I have been living in penury, having only a morsel of food to cope with and negative thoughts. I hit my body on something at times in disgust. It was my penance for my foolishness.

Till the end of this year, I will work as a slave for my boss for nothing, till I pay up. My brothers and sisters, this is money I did not eat o. Now paying the price. Throughout the WASSCE, I worked my ass out engaging in WASSCE runs. All I made was used to service the debt. The long time out of work also did not help matters in paying back the money on time. Sometimes, I feel like running away to another state to start working afresh in order to be paid. But I will stay and protect my integrity. Not like before i fled benin.

Even the 3 months Moratorium from government before I get to pay back the relief loan is off. I wonder what their next action would be. If only we could undo the past. The lust of the flesh has led me to my waterloo
RomanceRe: I Will Never Forgive Myself by ChildOfDoom(op): 6:01pm On Oct 02, 2020
Just from January to June this year alone, I raised nothing less than 600,000 naira. This same period people were crying of no funds. I raised such huge amount and squandered it. I got the funds from:

1) I made 150000 naira alone convincing students to write WASSCE at my work place. There was the usual commission for bringing candidates. I inflated the enrollment figures to get more. I made a lot from a lady in Germany who wanted to write the exam in absentia.
2) I was among the lucky citizens that got the covid-19 relief money from the federal government. A whooping 250,000 naira was given to me
3) I got 50,000 naira from don jazzy during his lockdown giveaway
4) I made 50000 from January to March engaging tirelessly in teaching WASSCE and UTME classes.
5) I luckily got 50,000 naira from Cubana chief priest on live video in Instagram
6) I got 10,000 naira from helen paul after getting her trivia question.

Hmm. The aforementioned and many more was lost to bet9ja virtual. All my sweat and time squandered at betshops. I could have used those funds to kickstart my life. With betting, we are slaves to our addiction. Now all source of making good money is dried up. They took my labour and joy

It's been 3 months without gambling. From july to september ending. Miraculous! I should be happy for my progress, but I am not. 6 years of bet9ja addiction, has already destroyed me beyond repair. If you see me now, i look unkempt. I hardly take care of my body and health. My body deserves to suffer for my years of foolishness. I am always distraught and disillusioned. I will let you in on reasons why I will never forgive myself....

Child of Doom, you can channel your writing skills and time into helping people overcome this addiction like you did, bro.

I remember an Online game addiction site that helped me stop my addiction to video games early last year. Suppose you will be willing to, you can DM me, so we work something out together.

I wish you the best in life, bro.
cool. Interesting prospect. Do let me know if there is a site I can pour my feelings to warn others.

I am sure some people will still foolishly gamble despite seeing here, all betting has put me through since 2015. Foolish curiosity births evil/disaster

You should be forever separated from money. That’s the only way out of gambling for you

Trust me, it will work. Sebi na who see money dey gamble
hmm.. The hard truth I failed to admit to earlier. The good part now is that, little money between 500 to 50000 naira doesn't move me to gamble again. Because I have lost a lot and don't see that meagre amount as a means to an end. The only fear is when I receive an amount of 6 digits and above to keep. That, I have to work on as a man. A man needs to work and be able to save, and also be able to stand in a position of trust. If not, I will be worthless

how did you do it?.......virtual has collected my August salary.

please help me in anyway you can with working tips. thanks.
what I might say might sound harsh, but it's a fact. your 'foolishness' might not end till you reach a breaking point. if you have not lost much, sold much, stole a lot to gamble, have been beaten or jailed for it, disowned for gambling, suffered much, forget it. but if you have, hear me out . nothing moves me again. not money (lost over 4 million), not future plans (yet to graduate since 2015), no joy, no friends, no relationship, no religion, no target, no feelings, no joy etc. just me. I am learning to be okay with my fate. I see myself as condemned and about to be destroyed if I don't do something quick about my situation. so, when I go to betshops, I just focus on charging my phone and don't go there with money. have a target each day of not playing. have someone to share it with. like my case, the drive to share the good news monthly with this group, spurs me on. see food, clothes and shelter as the only priority now. see yourself as a good-for-nothing, that nothing can come out of. your world should revolve around only you for now. if you start setting target to make yourself and people proud, you will start gambling to succeed, since no good job out there. then you enter problems. greed has a way of wrecking people. most times, I joke with my mum to focus on other children to help her and leave me to reconstruct my life first till next year. finally, have a new passion. like me, I am always on my phone 24/7 having naughty chats, updating groups and watching porn. my work also helps. I do many home lessons to keep me busy till evenings, by which time betshops would have closed. not saying I have changed, but taking things one step at a time without desperation. my addiction would have killed me you know, so grateful for life
