You are jumping in to conclusions too fast. No where was it stated that the girl was seeking for upgrade of her result for missing a test. If truly she missed a test, there is nothing wrong in meeting the lecturer involved to notify him/her. The lecturer at his/her discretion can reschedule a test for her or award her a score in relation to her previous performance or at worst outrightly tell her there is nothing to be done than the zero she got for being absent.

That is why i advocate the govt. should build more science and tech schools, not more quaranic/islamic schools.

When people get so entrenched in religious doctrine, they typically turn to extremist when they have little or no western education.

Amosun no dey do anything! All this na wash wash!! Ogun State is known for its bad roads!! Sometimes I wonder weda the government of Ogun no dey see road? Ogun is a neighboring State to Lagos and it still look as bad as it is. I was in Ogun in Dec 2015 and hated it sooo much!!! bad roads everywhere!! In the areas called Matogun, Alagbado, Akute and Oke-Aro, All crappy!!

The governor of Ogun State need to wake up and help his people!!! This people(govt) forget they will leave office someday, get old and see the mess they had opportunity to amend but did not. Lagos may not be all that good but its waaaaaay better than Ogun!
my 2cents.
He cant fix all the roads in Ogun state till he finishes his tenure, he has done considerably well on roads, in fact he has been derisively called "titilari" governor. It is quite unintelligent to think because you saw a couple of bad roads, the governor has done nothing. Are you aware of the state of roads within the state pre 2011 when he came in? Fashola didnt fis all bad roads in Lagos during his 8 years tenure, same way Ambode wont fix all the bad roads till 2023.

Education › Re: Save Oyo State Public Schools by chinchum(m): 5:45pm On May 31, 2016
We need practical solutions, not the usual cliche of free education that Awolowo did some 50 years ago. What was the population of students in public primary and secondary schools then? How many state owned tertiary institutions were available then? If there was any? what was the population of such tertiary institutions?

I dont think he is selling the schools by the way, i feel he plans to divest a part of the responsibilities of the state to private hands, which i think if done in good faith will yield favourable results. Govt supervision of the human resources in public schools and even recruitment have failed and will always fail because of the 'i dont care attitude' of an average govt. worker to his/her job.

Politically correct ideas are not necessarily the solution to correct the rot in the system.
Politics › Re: Who Is Nigeria's Best Minister Of Information Since 1999? by chinchum(m): 5:34pm On May 31, 2016
hedonistic:
Hard times or underperforming governments bring out the 'shine' in a competent minister of information. In such trying situations, the minister's endearing manner of communicating with the public in a charismatic, likeable, persuasive manner (even if slightly dishonest) would somehow improve the public's perception of the government. All of this is where Lai has failed woefully. He has not been able to make the transition from an opposition party attack dog to a government minister of information whose party is in power. There are massive differences in job description, stylistic requirements, and general approach between these two starkly different roles.

His repugnant face alone is a turn off as it rankles beyond what I can describe in words. When he opens his mouth he fouls up the entire atmosphere and inspires nothing but disgust and contempt. Absolutely nothing likeable or believable about the man.

A more charismatic and competent minister would have made a LOT of difference.
I understand your plight, Once you are putting on a lens of hatred to view someone, whatever (s)he says is putrid.

At the ministerial screening, he simply took a bow for a reason. He is good at what he does.Although the minority leader was quick to label him a propagandist. Transitioning from a party's publicity secretary to his current position meant he has earned a large pool of enemies from the other divide at his former role. Many have even maligned him for saying the Govt has technically defeated the BH, but if any sensible reasons what technical defeat is, he was not out of line.

There was a reason the widely admired Dora Akunyili lost a chunk of respect during the trying times of Yaradua's sickness, although she tried to redeem her image at the tail end of the Yaradua debacle. Hard times do not bring out the shine in a minister of information. NEVER. It sinks them if they are not competent.

In the neighbouring Jigawa state, the total numbers of doctors is less than 20, and some local governments do not have a single doctor.

THIS IS AN EASY WAY OUT FOR A LAZY GOVT ... I REPEAT ... LAZY GOVT...THAT LACKS WILL... RESOLVE .. AND INNOVATION....

ITS SO SAD THIS IS COMING FROM THE SUPPOSED HEART OF THE YORUBA RACE WELL KNOWN TO BE ROOTED IN THE BASIC PRINCIPLE OF FREE EDUCATION...
it is people like me and you that makes up management of the school, that school inspector who didn't do his/her job well enough That lazy teacher who only taught students thrice instead of thirteen in a term, that parent /guardian who fails to attend any PTA meeting of his/her wards. That parent who fails to monitor academic performance of his/ her ward. That govt body members of staff in charge of recruitment of teachers who recruited 'Dundee' in the name of govt teacher

We show ' I don't care attitude' as govt. Workers and wonder why anything govt. Touches fail.
Let the supervision of the schools be in private hands, and the school performance will gradually improve. Most of the private schools teachers earn way less than their counterparts in public schools, yet the teachers In private schools are 'forced' to give optimal best in teaching students. Public school teachers are now scared to take aptitude test for fear of being exposed. The Edo state teacher who couldn't read simple court affidavit she declared is still fresh.

Public private partnership is the way to go with the public schools, or missionary schools be returned to their previous owners.

There is no need to be politically correct on education affairs. It is time for practical and workable solutions.

12 months down, About 30 months left before election. 30 days in politics can change a lot, talkless of 30 months. No doubt it has been a turbulent past 12 months for the buhari regime, 30 months still at stake.

By Mid 2018, the stage will be close to set, and opinions and decisions would have started to set on who seats in Aso rock by may 29, 2019.

Do not forget that close to 10 million nigerians will benefit DIRECTLY from the allocated 500 billion naira in the social scheme of the 2016 budget.

those 10 millions have electoral value oooooo. All in all, it is too early to be discussing an election that the earliest time it can hold is dec. 2018

I think the girl was deliberately released for some unknown reasons.

What you have done is like Mr A's wife assuming Mr A should be earning the same salary with Mr B, since both Mr A & Mr B work in the same company.

dont mind Nigerians with their baseless comparison. Saudi Arabia produces over 9 million barrels daily, that is close to 5 times the oil we produce daily, and it has like 15% of Nigeria's population , it has a thriving religious tourism industry.
