At the end of the day I think Rohr and NFF will part ways by mutual consent. As a self respecting man Gernot can't honestly believe he will continue to work with people who clearly don't want you around anymore. The fans don't want him plus the players as much as they respect him I don't think they will have sleepless nights when the inevitable happens. |

This is news to me. All accounts regarding indiscipline in the 1994 squad have never really fingered him as a culprit besides he was a newbie in the group he couldn't be stearing up trouble when their were so many senior men in the squad. forgiveness: Is it true?
All his coaching crew including goalkeeper trainer, assistant coach and etc should follow him. Thanks
I don’t want to see Amunike there. He is very corrupt and bias.
He destroyed the 1994 squad with his.,.,, if you know you know. |

Of course a brilliant plan is always the best. I'm talking about how it's not just enough to have a great plan but know how to pass it across COMMUNICATION. For instance if we are talking football minds Oliseh is better than Rohr but we all know how that turned out. Gary Neville took his powerpoint deck management to Valencia when reality showed him pepper he jappad back to England. I want a competent hand too but also one with sense that will not come and distrupt team harmony. TheGoodJoe:
A brilliant plan will always trump a dull one. Which is better, having a brilliant plan and battling with egos. Or having a dumb plan to pat the shoulders of egos. |

Hi Boss I hear you and understand where you are coming from but Nigeria weren't some absolute underachieving mugs before Rohr came. At least some of these ''terrible local coaches'' won an AFCON and qualified the team for many World Cups. Rohr did well in stabilizing the team but the honest truth is his performance as manager has been regressing badly. How do you explain drawing a match at home you were leading 4-0 or losing to a team ranked one hundred and ninety something at home 1-0? I do agree that a lot of Nigerian football fans have unrealistic expectations of the team but with Rohr the criticisms of recent have been fair. Ibime: Have you checked Senegal and Algeria squad. Senegal have World Class players in almost every position from Goalkeeper to forwards. Algeria also have them French league ballers aplenty
All I know is before Rohr, we failed to qualify for 3 out of 4 AFCONS. Rohr has had the best run of any coach in 2 decades. Only a Mahrez freekick and some extremely poor refereeing against Argentina seperates him from our best results ever. Take it or leave it. |

Rohr going was never the problem but the replacement na the koko. Whoever they hire should be someone who can improve our attacking play massively. humility33: It seems u guys dont know how abysmal rohr is
His line up is a major problem and he can't read games and know when to make tactical subs
That is poor as a coach. |

My guy ideas always sound greater on paper but when you are the one to implement it that's when you will become a philosopher. Managing player egos or controlling stubborn footballers who won't carry out your instructions to the letter can be tasking. So you might have all the most innovative ground breaking ideas but if you don't have good emotional intelligence to manage different people with different characteristics you will struggle no matter how brilliant you are ChrisKels: Sounds crazy, but I'm kinda sold on that Goodjoe guy as someone who could pass as a tactical genius at least electronically. |

Mali from time Imo river have always had good players and put up great performances here and there. It is when push comes to shove that the men will be separated from the boys. That's why a less talented Cameroon team dispatched CIV no be just by talent alone but pedigree matters alot. ChrisKels: Incredible: Mali won group E without conceding a single goal.
-6-Matches -5-wins -0-Loss -1-Draw -11-Goals scored -0-Goal conceded
But but but Nigeria will defeat Mali after suffering defeats at home in the hands of CAR and playing boring draws against Cape Verde. Well, I hope with meet Mali

I hear the Osun man is trying sha Sagamite: Looking at Governors of states, it is interesting to see the quality of governors people in states are voting for.
I remember when the creeetins in Ekiti voted out a highly educated governor for a known illiterate crook all because of "stomach infrastructure".
Here is my current perception of State Governors in Nigeria; grouped by their political platform.
Visionary, Educated and/or with Ray of light Borno - Babagana Umara Zulum (APC) Lagos - Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (APC) Kaduna - Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai (APC) Nassarawa - Abdullahi A. Illiterates, Low Quality and/or Certified crooks Kebbi - Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (APC) Kano - Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (APC) Gombe - Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya (APC) Kogi – Yahaya Adoza Bello (APC) Niger - Abubakar Sani Bello (APC) Zamfara - Bello Muhammad Matawalle (APC) Ebonyi - David Nweze Umahi (APC) Ogun - Dapo Abiodun (APC) Osun - Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola (APC) Katsina - Aminu Bello Masari (APC) Bauchi - Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (PDP) Rivers - Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike (PDP) Bayelsa - Douye Diri (PDP) Delta - Arthur Okowa Ifeanyi (PDP) Adamawa - Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (PDP) Benue - Samuel Ioraer Ortom (PDP) Abia - Okezie Victor Ikpeazu (PDP)
Undefined/Unknown Quality Plateau - Simon Bako Lalong (APC) Imo - Hope Odidika Uzodinma (APC) Jigawa - Mohammed Badaru Abubakar (APC) Yobe - Mai Mala Buni (APC) Sokoto - Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (PDP) Taraba - Darius Dickson Ishaku (PDP) Enugu - Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (PDP)
This shows majority of Nigerians are still voting for useless leaders.

I think DR Congo are the potential weakest team of the lot. Honestly speaking based on the talent available to Nigeria I really fancy our chances against any of the lower seeded team. Man for Man we have better depth than most of them. It's the coaching and team setup that could possibly slip us up. andrewbaba44: Egypt is the easiest ,I agree
I don’t really rate Egypt and most people do due to their past glory

Key Observations from the second round of Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers
Osimhen was by far the player of this round of qualifiers for the SE. Always committed, ever reliable the opposition never had a moments rest with him around. Once again he was our top scorer during the second qualify round even though he didn't quite bring all of his shooting boots which should be a scary thought for any of our potential opponents. Not sure if any statistician has could help to confirm but I reckon he should be one of the fastest SE players to reach 10 goals in the fewest caps. The guy has been our talisman for the past 2 years involved in 16 of the 25 goals we have scored in competitive games since the AFCON. Hope we don't get too over reliant on him because for now like subzero said it's pass to Osimhen and inshallah is what the team is operating on.
Awaziem has grown in leaps and bound fast maturing into a very reliable defender. In my opinion he was our best CB during this round. I never felt worried seeing his name in the starting lineup. I predict he will break the oyinbo wall partnership very soon if he hasn't already.
Ejuke is the revelation of the round for me. Was one of our better wingers in this stage of the qualifiers. Needs to add assists and goals to his skillset. Not quite ready to be a starter but not far off.
Collins solid performances at LB but still think Zaidu or Aina would provide better attacking options. Plus the level of wingers Jamilu faced are inferior to what we will likely see in the playoffs.
Maduka did his bit but what Uzoho showed in the one match he kept in goal has convinced me that Francis should regain that number one spot. We need battle hardened warriors going into the next round no room for mistakes or uncertainties regarding our goalkeeper.
Moses Simon really disappointed me from an attacking perspective. Didn't justify his constant starts in my opinion. Some people might mention his defensive attributes but I don't think he was put on the field to defend but rather positively influence play in the final third.
Iheanacho glimpses here and there. Looks like someone who can share the goal scoring burden but needs to be consistent.
Aribo still not quite there yet but is improving.
The rest of the team need to increase their sharpness. |

Yeah they will come out to attack since they need the result. My prayer is the SE don't go and gift them an early goal to boost their confidence and give them something to defend. Hope the right defensive pairing will be chosen today to get the job done and not resort to sentimental lineups. Optimistic of a very good win today. GO SUPER EAGLES Odunayaw: I hope they don't sit back too. Outside shots ought to be our wild card to force their defenders from amassing in the box when we approach |

Thanks for this anecdote showing that there are men and women of the NA who can behave with decorum, decency and intelligence when it comes to deescalating tense situations. The officers and men who shot and killed innocent protesters at the lekki toll need to be made examples of showing that the NA is no place for mindless, blood thirsty brutes. Kudos to the panel for finally giving everyone a clearer picture of what happened. I had initially changed my mind about a massacre happening because of the deluge of fake news that followed the event but the recent insights of attempted coverups by the police, LCC and LAWMA have convinced me finally of the true events of october 20 last year. All the security outfits need to as a matter of urgent importance find a way to teach and eliminate this roguish behavior of how their personnel deal with non-threatening civilians. Too many brave men and women of the Nigerian Military have given their lives to allow a couple of bad eggs tarnish their name and have them branded as unconscionable killers. RIP to all deceased Endsars protesters praying they get justice. ugo4u: Justice is all Nigerians are asking for and justice they must get else we wont make any progress as a nation. In this same Endsars protest we saw videos of middle level officers particularly Majors in the army disarm and de-escalate angry mobs w/o firing a single gunshot infact the Major that was in charge of the NYSC camp in kogi literally stopped his soldiers from firing into the crowd that wanted to loot the stuffs made for corpers he appealed to the mob and made them see reasons why they shouldn't steal what belongs to their brothers/sisters that came for service, similar scenario occurred in Osun state were we saw another army Major engage an irate mob and within 10min he deescalated an already tensed atmosphere also not forgetting the Senior NAF officer captured on camera warning police officers to stop firing at the mob so he could engage them. These is to tell you that the military have alot of good men that know the sanctity of human lives and the huge responsibility that comes with wearing the uniform, what makes you a good soldier is the ability to carryout your objectiuve with as minimal casualties as possible infact if you can disarm your enemy w/o firing a shot the better. To those set of officers we will always praise and commend them but you see those bad eggs that perpetrate criminalities we must call them out it doesn't mean we aren't patriotic we all want a sane society not a banana republic were anybody can misbehave because he or she have access to a rifle, virtually everyone can pull a trigger people at the helm of affairs should try as much as possible not to push the citizens to the wall because when all hell breaks lose simultaneously all over the country the resultant effect will be worst than a zombie apocalypse. |
