The station attacked

The Delta State Police Command has recovered two operational vehicles used by the daredevil armed robbers that invaded and attacked A bank's branch at Issele-Uku on Tuesday.

Focus Naija can report that the armed men used dynamites to gain entrance into the banking hall and moved away with an undisclosed amount of money.

According to a statement accredited to the spokesperson of the Command, DSP Edafe Bright, a team of policemen from the state headquarters led by DC Operations, DCP Olaleye Faleye, engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel before they abandoned their operational vehicles and fled into the bush.

DSP Edafe also revealed in the statement that the gunmen simultaneously attacked the police station in Issele-Uku and riddled it with bullets while the operation lasted.

BANK ROBBERY/ATTACK ON POLICE STATION
On the 30/3/2021 at about 1600hrs, heavily armed hoodlums attacked United Bank for Africa (UBA) Issele-Uku branch and the Divisional Police Headquarters Issele-Uku. During the attack, dynamites were used by the hoodlums to destroy the security doors of the banking hall and made away with undisclosed amount of money. The Police Station was simultaneously attacked and riddle with bullets. The Commissioner of police Delta State CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, Psc+ quickly mobilized patrol teams from the State Police Headquarters Asaba to Issele-Uku, led by the DC Operations DCP Olaleye Faleye who engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel. The hoodlums escaped in two vehicles but were chased and consequently, they abandoned their vehicles and escaped into the bush. However, an Inspector of Police, Anioma Security Watch vigilante member and a civilian died while one of the hoodlums was killed and their vehicles full of blood were recovered. Also recovered is one AK 47 rifle breech No. 9558 with empty magazine painted with Police color. The command is appealing to members of the public with useful information that will aid the arrest of these hoodlums to please avail such information to the commissioner of police.

Delta Robbery: Armed Robbers Cart Away Millions Of Naira, Kill One, Drive DPO, Policemen Away

More facts concerning Tuesday's attack on the Bank at Issele-Uku branch, headquarters of Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta state by daredevil armed robbers have emerged.

The tension forced workers and customers around to scamper to safety.

SaharaReporters gathered that the bloody operation which lasted over an hour, led to the killing of a resident.

The victim was killed by a stray bullet while some others sustained bullet wounds.

A resident of the community who witnessed the incident and spoke on condition of anonymity, said the armed robbers, who invaded the bank had some of their gang members stationed at different vantage positions in the community while some of them were at the bank.

"The armed robbers came well prepared. It was like an American action movie. The robbers had sophisticated weapons. Sounds of gunshots rented the entire village while the operation was on. There was panic everywhere and the police were nowhere to be found. As they were shooting sporadically, stray bullets hit someone and she died immediately and others had bullet wounds.

"Our hopes were dashed as we were counting on the police station in the town. As this was going on, we heard the the Divisional Police Officer and his men had gone into hiding somewhere else. We heard that the robbers earlier visited the police station and were searching for the DPO and his men but the police who got wind of their presence quickly took cover. The destruction at the bank was massive.

"If I am not mistaken, three years ago, the same bank was attacked and robbed and some millions of naira were stolen. So many people, especially customers were left with serious wounds. When today's robbery incident was going on, so many of us were calling lines made available to the public to reach out to the security outfit code named 'Operation Delta Hawk' that was inaugurated by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa last year, but unfortunately they never showed up till the robbers left the community."

When contacted, the acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, Delta State Police Command, confirmed the robbery incident, saying, "The command is already at the top of the situation. Our men are presently in the bush trailing some of the gang members who ran into the bush. For the now, we don't have the accurate number of casualties."

The missing body of a man from which his head was severed from has been discovered in Agbowiame Community, Jeremi in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State.

Focus Naija can report that the victim‘s severed head was earlier discovered on Monday morning where it was dumped at the entrance of Ekakpamre community following an ongoing supremacy cult clash in the area.

According to reliable sources, the cult clash has led to a killing spree and breakdown of law and order as a police and vigilante post in the community was partially razed by rampaging youths.

Before the killing of the victim whose head was severed, a non resident indigene of the community by name Emmanuel was murdered while on a visit for his grandmother’s funeral.

When contacted, Delta State Police Acting Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright revealed that serious investigation is going on to unravel those responsible and in no time, they will be arrested.

Anti-Cult members in Warri abduct teenage girl into an uncompleted Redeem church where she was defiled and raped (photos)

The Agbor Gha-Ihun Security outfit has paraded a suspected cultist in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The suspect identified as Mathew Ifenchor from Alisimie, Agbor, was paraded on Thursday, March 18, for illegal possession of locally made pistol and attempted murder.

According to Patrick Gbuchanye, the suspect had threatened a man, who thereafter reported him to the security outfit.

Speaking to newsmen, Ifenchor confessed that the locally made pistol was given to him by his cult group for self defense as their number One.

He claimed that he has only used the gun to threaten a member of their cult group, Fidelis Etuokwu for querying his emergence as the number 1 of their group.

"Etuokwu has accused me of going after him with a gun to kill him which can never be possible for the fact that we are brothers. If I have the intention to kill him, I would have shot at him and not his motorcycle. We do not kill our cult brothers”, he claimed.

However, Etuokwu denied ever being a member of any other cult group, saying that he does not know why Ifenchor confronted him to the extent of wanting to kill him with a gun.

A suspected cultist siimply identified as Victor from Imo State has confessed how a member of a rival cult group, Ugochukwu aka Tata was brutally murdered and his head and private cut off by his group on the 6th of March, 2021.

According to him, the victim was abducted by another member to a secret place where he was first beaten with wood before he pulled the trigger that killed him.

He further narrated that he was he was responsible for shooting the victim on the chest before proceeding to cut off his head that was captured in a viral video recorded using his left hand.

Thereafter, they took the severed parts of the deceased to a herbalist who ordered them to pound it for the preparation of a charm.

When asked the efficacy of the potion, the suspect revealed that it would make the other cult group not to declare war with them and also help to keep the police away from their trail in the course of their nefarious activities.

He regretted his action, begged for forgiveness and called on members of his cult group to desist from cultism.

According to him, having intercourse with a corpse is part of the training that they undergo before starting the mortuary job.

The Delta State Police Command has arrested sixteen suspected cultists from an initiation ground raided in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Focus Naija can report that the suspects were arrested during a raid at Obogba village bush following a tip-off.

According to a press release dated 15th March, 2021 and signed by the command’s acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP. EDAFE BRIGHT, the Special Anti-Cult Unit, SACU swung into action leading to the arrest of fifteen male suspects, one female suspect and recovery of a Toyota Camry from the initiation ground.

The statement reads in part;

“5. On the 13/3/2021 about 2330hrs – 0230hrs of date information received that a cult group called Aye confraternity will be having initiation of new members to be taken place at Okpanam. Immediately the commander SACU Mobilized men to a nearby bush at Obogba village Okpanam where the initiation is to take place, fifteen (15) male suspects and one (1) female suspect were arrested. One (1) Toyota Camry car recovered. Investigation is in progress.

Similarly, SACU operatives led by SP Igbaji Christopher raided and arrested notorious cultists from their Oghara hideout on Sunday.


On the 12/3/2021 at about 2225hrs, Commander State anti-cult unit (SACU) SP Igbaji Christopher acting on credible information, dispatched SACU operatives to Sapele and raided a notorious cultist hideout in Oghara. Fifteen (15) suspected cultists were arrested and raps of substance suspected to be cocaine was recovered. Investigation is in progress.

A middle aged man whose name was simply given as Edafe was on Monday morning butchered to death by his wife for not sleeping at home in Ughelli, Delta State.

Focus Naija can report that the man was attacked from the back inflicting a deep cut from the neck to the arm.

He was rushed to the General Hospital in Ughelli for treatment after the attack but unfortunately died from the injuries sustained.

A young man whose name was given as Donwany by an eyewitness has perished with his girlfriend in a fatal accident that occurred on Sunday evening in Amukpe Sapele, Delta State.

A 35-year-old native of Nise in Awka South LGA that resides at Dueze Street Otigba in 3-3 Area of Anambra State, Kingsely Igwe has been apprehended by the Anambra State Police Command for gruesomely killing his wife with a kitchen knife.

Focus Naija can report that the suspect was arrested by police operatives attached to the 3-3 Police Station at the wee hours of Thursday 4th of March 2021, after inflicting multiple injuries and subsequently killing her, a police report stated.

According to the Command, the victim, aged 31, was rushed to the hospital after the attack but was certified dead on arrival. Her corpse has been deposited at the morgue and the case transferred to State CID, Awka, for discreet investigation in order to unravel the actual cause of the incident.

A gang of armed robbers operating in two Lexus vehicles on Friday afternoon attacked a branch of Wetland Microfinance Bank located at Udu Road in Ovwian area of Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Focus Naija can report that an eyewitness who filmed from a distance captured the moment that the armed robbers started shooting in the bank premises before carting away a huge sum of money reported to be over five million naira.

The incident caused pandemonium in the area as motorists and pedestrians scampered for safety but it could not be confirmed if there were any casualties from the robbery.

Focus Naija reports that he was shot dead at close range by gunmen driving in a white Venza vehicle.

Daddy K was killed on Saturday evening along the Crudas axis by Akintola Lane in Sapele, Delta State.

Until he was killed, Okiemute Sowho was the special assistant to Governor Okowa on youth development and was reportedly building an upstair close to Solodem Plaza in Sapele.
