Nigeria and their ways...The educational system is shit and needs to change. How can you deny admission to 1.2 Million serious students as if they're getting their education for free? In the United States, no matter how poor you do on any entrance examination, there's always a school willing to accept and educate you because they know how important it is for everyone to be educated AT THE RIGHT TIME. By the age of 23, I already have 2 bachelor degrees and 1 Masters and you have people in Nigeria still struggling in their late 20s just to enter university. THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE! |
I didn't even read this article thanks to the title. Democracy will fall? When the hell has democracy ever risen in Nigerian. What we have is a managed and controlled democracy which is really the same as AUTOCRACY in disguise! |
Why the hell are people asking how the HIV was contacted? How in the world will that help the victim? If you don't want to contact the disease, get tested to make sure you don't already have it and then stop sleeping around if that's what you do (And if you can't control yourself, then always use protection. It's not 100% safe but it will drastically reduce your chances of contacting HIV and other STDs, etc.) Now back to the victim: Regardless of how you contacted the disease, unfortunately your best option is to return to Nigeria. Our country has been labeled as one of the countries with a high case of HIV so a lot of drugs are being circulated (some for free) to help manage the epidemic. You should be able to get your hands on some. Good luck and I can only pray for you! |
Now I have seen it all. Wonders shall never end indeed. |
Why would the moderators let such nonsense make the front page. This sort of posts with deceiving, misleading or simply inaccurate titles destroys the credibility of Nairaland. The lady in the picture is clearly not Naomi Campbell and the original article states "Nigerian model has her own Naomi Campbell moment as she goes flying on catwalk" referring to the ever famous Naomi Campbell fall in the early 90's. Stop with all the deceiving titles! |
They "need"? Who are they kidding. 10% of their stolen money is enough to finish the ongoing projects and even double the number of roads |
I didn't really the essay. But seriously, if you don't care, then why take the time to draft such an elegant, long and yes, caring letter? Those who do not care don't even respond most of the time. And when they do, it's short and to the point. |
Jesus Christ. All these vacancies in one school? And they'll still proceed as if it's business as usual whether those vacancies are filled or not. |
Blue Ivy was trending on twitter yesterday and I thought: "Damn, she's not even 1 and she already dropped her first single?" |
I didn't even read the article. Just the title. But just because someone is your wife doesn't make them your sex slave. They still have the right to say no and pull out as they see fit. Marriage does not entitle you to an everlasting quantity of sexual encounters. You still need to woo her and earn it. Quit with all these backwards and barbaric ways of thinking (To some.) |
And exactly where is this fence construction money going to come from? Democracy for the people, by the people. When did "the people" ever ask for a fence? Call it the United States of Africa (The United States of America has considered a fence and deemed it useless and wasteful but Nigeria, we don't care, where there's an idea, there's also a money contract waiting to be awarded!) As if people are dying to enter Nigeria in multitudes to the degree that fences are needed. If anything, the fences will be preventing those Nigerians who are sick and tired of all the old men at the top, who've been in power since Independence, from leaving Nigeria in search of anything else. |
Instead of just creating "Mega Universities," I hope they focus more on the quality of the education and eliminating the unnecessary costs and barriers to the students who will be dying to get into those "Mega Universities." The PEOPLE are the UNIVERSITIES, not the buildings! |
"Instead of coming first, she came second?" Please provide the source for that. I'm pretty sure you added that part for the dramatic effect. Good person or not, if the finish line was that close and first place in sight, she could've finished the race then offered the water. |
NASA was interviewing for someone to be sent to Mars. Only one could go and couldn’t return to Earth. The first applicant, an AMERICAN, was asked how much he wanted to be paid for going, “A million dollars,” he replied, “I want to leave it for the advancement of medical research.” The next applicant, the MEXICAN, was asked the same question. He asked for two million dollars. “I want to give a million to my family,” he explained, “and I’ll donate the other million to the church.” The last applicant was a NIGERIAN. When asked how much money he wanted, he whispered in the interviewer’s ear, “Three million dollars.” “Why so much more than the others?” asked the interviewer. The NIGERIAN replied, “If you give me three million, I’ll give you a million, I’ll keep a million, and we’ll send the AMERICAN to Mars.” -This is obviously not an original joke. You might have read something similar before but it's still fun to read. |
Blame for Africa’s modern-day ills can be laid squarely at the feet of two oppressors: white people and black people. Europeans’ systematic rape of sub-Saharan Africa’s resources, territory, and slaves cast the continent into centuries of misery. But when colonialism collapsed in the mid 20th century, many local black leaders thought, ‘Hmmm…if the white man got rich and powerful by turning my homeland into an unrecognizable husk of sewage and mass grave, maybe I can, too!’ -John Stewart I found this very interesting and thought I would share. |
Yet, we the ones abroad are scared to death to come home and visit our families. We have to follow a million guidelines just to be safe and breathe properly in your own land. Either ways, there's no place like home and home is Nigeria! As long as there's life, there's hope and I'm still optimistic for our future. Soon, all these old farts that have been in power since Independence will die off and we'll hopefully have some young creative minds run the country toward its deserved potential. |
Come on. As if most of the people performing those searches with those "aren't terms" aren't Nigerians. No one knows who Tonto Dike and Rita are here in the U.S. Most Americans don't even know who our president is let alone, Nigeria's Nicki Minaj. |
Chelsea just got robbed by the home team instigated penalty but honestly, Basel outplayed Chelsea in the second half. They just have horrible first touches or they could've scored like 3. One joke: Fernando Torres |
I'm Dating Kentura, Not Nadia Buari...however, I am sleeping with both of them, comfortable if I might add! |
What a pathetic and silly write-up. "Till death do you part" and you're here bickering about "I'm sorry" as your marriage ultimatum. This is obviously a cooked up story. No one sane enough would end a marriage that involves kids and 2 grown adults because someone didn't say "I'm sorry." Even if she unforgivably slept with your whole village, her saying "I'm sorry" won't change a thing so NICE TRY! |
More like HIT and MISS |
3 Things: 1. The German teams are really making a statement this year against the Spanish team. 2. At least Real Madrid scored and is still semi-alive. 3. Now I'm really scared of Bayern! |
Yes Dortmund scored first. But right now they are all hype, speed and home juju. Let the dust settle down. We'll draw blood. We are not Barcelona. We have strikers. Hala Madrid! |
Even his first name will not help his cause in this case. I'm surprised he didn't say by 2015 right before the elections. Boko Haram is going to take a continuous effort; there's no 1 hit solution. |
I like Basketmouth but he's 95% like any other Nigerian or even African comedian. They all use the exact same jokes and switch the characters' names. And they take forever to retire some jokes or come up with better ones. You'll see him telling the same jokes from 10 years ago. Either ways, he's still one of the only ones I tolerate. |
I don't like Suarez but if you can't beat them, BITE them. He'll Never Bite alone...again |
I'll be watching the Real Madrid vs. Dortmouth game in Germany with mostly Germans! It's going to be very difficult to cheer properly when Real Madrid scores. I hope the fate that smacked Barcelona yesterday do not beset my Real Madrid. I'll have to fake-cheer when Dortmouth scores…Oh Boy! When Real Madrid scores, I'll be like "OH NO" but on the inside, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! |
She did advise young girls not to "allow their boyfriend take their unclad pictures." What she meant was for them to take it themselves or a get professional photographer to take it so that they can capture their best angles. |
Haha. What a funny thread. I feel sorry for the guy but he did ask for it. When it comes to insulting, even in the English language, Nigerians will finish you. You'll wish you had Harry Potter's invisibility cloak afterward! |
The Most Beautiful Woman in The World, NO. She is not. She is and will forever be far from the list. However, she is beautiful but I'll like to see her without several layers of paint and a full body image...not just her face. |
Luxury tax...which will somehow make its way to those with nothing to tax. Those who own those jets will obviously find a way to pass it on to the people. I mean, they found a way to collect the money, from the people, for the private jets in the first place. Sad. |
Why would you pay for a job? Isn't that counterproductive (The purpose of a job is to make money.) Let alone N250,000? With that money, you can definitely start your own business or something similar. You must have some "odd" intentions to pay that much for a job. |
