EzeUche:Uche eff the bull dawg, if it were them you would see wonders. Remember last weeks bragging of the NASS? So to let it be known, Obiagu is right. We Igbos are the ones who voted for Goodluck not them ![]() |
agbotaen:Dude we get it you are not Igbo. Can you define who exactly the 'Igbo' are? I find the bolded pretty confusing, that is why i'm asking. One thing that comes to mind at the comment that is bolded is the "Ekumeku War",to say the least; but, this depends on who exactly you are calling the Igbo and why you are calling them such. Your response is really appreciated. And by the way, i'm Ukwuani. |
Every man should mind his own skin. Go out and vote how you want today. ACF told every northerner to vote for a northerner. ACF told every political party to yield a northern candidate for presidency. Where was Ali Monguno when this was happening? ACF isn't a poltical group at all,at least so-they-say. Anyway, 1 man 1 vote. Yp up Goodluck! ![]() |
Ali Monguno Condemns Ohanaeze’s Call On Igbo To Vote For Jonathan Saturday, 16 April 2011 00:00 From Njadvara Musa, Maiduguri News - National FORMER Minister of Petroleum and Steel and elder statesman, Alhaji Shettima Ali Monguno, on Thursday condemned the Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership for urging the Igbo to vote en mass for President Goodluck Jonathan in today’s election, warning that such calls could jeopardise the peace and unity of the country. Monguno, who spoke to The Guardian at his Maiduguri residence, said that it was rather preposterous for a revered socio-cultural group to declare in a public medium that it has thrown its full weight behind the candidature of a sitting President. The call according to the elder statesman was however, not only ill-timed, but also capable of tearing a heterogeneous country like Nigeria apart and against the tenets of democracy and popular choice of the electorate. “When I heard that call made by the Igbo elders on television, which more or less directed or requested the Ndigbo to vote for the President, instantly I felt it is ill-timed, in the sense that it was coming about 73 hours to the presidential election. “Asking its people to vote for one particular candidate in a country that has been lauded as one indivisible nation with so many tribal and religious groups should not have come up. “It is ill-timed and uncalled for; in the sense that it smacks of division; it smacks of anti-peace, anti-progress and anti-security,” said Monguno. He said he was very much glad that other major ethnic groups in the country did not beat similar drum of support in favour of any candidate, adding that in a country that believes in unity, peace and progress, such tendencies could threaten the values of democracy. He further disclosed that it will not be out of place if the authorities could call on those concerned to question, asking them to exercise some restraints, because it is ill-timed and damaging to our unity, especially at this critical time. http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=44939:ali-monguno-condemns-ohanaezes-call-on-igbo-to-vote-for-jonathan&catid=1:national&Itemid=559 |
Eko Ile:Is the governor of ogun still a PDP member? . The last i heard, he said he is going to do what ever he can to bring down PDP.Go figure! And like I said, Bankole simply did not want to risk his life in SW murder muder politics. As for Oyo state, a non-ACN governor state, go check the outcome of the election there and come pare the results to that of the ACN governor state then come back and talk. Next time you use your dirty mouth against Igbos think again. Yes we are democratic but not perfect and not murderous like your people.Had this been in your own place bodies would have been dropping left and right. |

Eko Ile:Gently? I don't call ACN winning an election in the state where the state governers are ACN members "listening to their people speak". If the governors had been PDP members then what would have happened? Nothing gentle about people who slaughter their brothers like lambs and with no remorse(Swesterners). We Igbos don't do that democracy is in our culture and has been there for thousands of years, unlike yours. We were even a democracy before the British, which were clearly, not too long ago, authoritarians. If today the british don't commit high slaughters of their people during a democracy and they've only been practicing it for a few hundred years, what makes you think people that have been practicing it for thousands of years wouldn't be less likely to be unruly in a democracy at a rate that's any high than theirs. Please mind you words, we are not the ones who bring out patrol at set our brothers on fire because of an election. Do keep that in mind next ime you use the words "gently conceded".The man(Bankole) simply did not want to risk his life. ![]() |
ekt_bear:Nigeria splitting is not the problem. That would just be a blessing. The problem comes in when the UN(U.S. or britain) sets up a permanent military base in your land. Do keep in mind the massive resources in ur land, oil being the highest sort after. |
yarodin:They are funny people. All of the nonsense they were talking about us Igbo and choosing Jonathan now they are running around like a chicken with its head cut off. So sad. |
ekt_bear:And that is the day they will never leave you land. Be careful what you wish for.The prediction of 2015 is still out there ![]() |
bashr4:Yorubas have never had presidency. You can't count obj because he was imposed on them. Anybody the yorubas have ever backed has failed. ![]() |
We are united and always been too bad we can't say the same about SW . . .They need to learn how to get it together, literally and figuratively. |
jason123:fck u |

ekt_bear:I still wait on Jega to do justice. I still have a lot of hope. it is more that clear that PDP rigged Kwara state. If that stands im convince that Jega fears polticians from certain states. The is talks about cancellation in Imo by APGA and ACN members also. There is still hope of weeding these fools out. |
Don't know if you all have gotten it, agnotaen seems to be in conflict with his identity, in his personal life. More than likely, whenever the pressures and reality of his Igboness hits him, he comes on this thread to vent out his frustration by posting findings that make him feel better of himself, and "detaches" him in some way from the Igbo label. What agbotaen fails to learn is that not accepting Igbo is his choice and that he is free to claim Ika. Where Agbotaen crosses the line is when he groups other groups together and calls them Igbo. What exactly makes them Igbo and not his Ika? I would like to know. |
Any ideas on how and when Senate President is selected? |
Poll: INEC Decides Anambra Crisis Wednesday By Ike Abony 13 Apr 2011 The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega Tuesday met with Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) to review last week’s parliamentary poll with a view to addressing challenges that emerged from last Saturday’s Presidential election. THISDAY learnt that the controversial Anambra central Senatorial election was discussed with the REC stating that the election was inclusive. Jega reportedly questioned why the Returning Officer should announced Ngige winner if the election was inconclusive. It was learnt that after listening to Anambra REC and referring to relevant sections of the Electoral Act, Jega decided that with about 17,000 registered voters in the area where result is yet to be released and one of the candidates is leading with less than 50 votes, the law demands that the result should be inclusive until election is concluded in the remaining wards. The meeting reportedly adjourned late Tuesday night. However, a decision is expected to be reached Wednesday at the end of Jega’s meeting with the RECs. In the meantime, the duo of Ngige and Akunyili would have to wait for a final decision that is expected from this meeting later Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and former Minister of Information, Prof. Dora Akunyili has accused the Returning Officer, Dr. Alex Anene of allegedly demanding bribe before releasing the result of the senatorial district. Akunyili who addressed newsmen Tuesday alongside the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh at the party headquarters in Abuja over the election tussle in Anambra state, said she was reportedly contacted on her phone by an agent working for absconded Anene requesting for negotiation in order for him to come out and declare his result. "Anene asked me to arrange for him to negotiate with me and I said never, I am willing to offer myself for a re-run of the senatorial election so that a winner can emerge,"she said. While narrating the incident that led to the impasse in the election, Akunyili said there were incontrovertible evidence that the election was inconclusive as results from some of the wards could not be declared because of irregularities. She said the problem of election in Nigeria is not that of the process but the desperation of politicians to win at all cost and their inability to accept defeat honourably. While dismissing the declaration of the candidate of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Dr. Chris Ngige as winner of the senatorial poll, APGA Chairman said the party stands by decision of INEC to cancel results in some of the wards and to conduct a re-run. He explained that election in the Anambra Central was largely peaceful and successful, except for about four wards and polling units where the elections were cancelled. http://www.thisdayonline.com/ |
It's surprising how this story comes out the week of the presidential election. ![]() |
Onitsha port ready for operation-FG From EMMANUEL UZOR, Onitsha Tuesday, April 12, 2011 Federal Government has said the Onitsha port is ready for operation to ease transportation stress and reduce the sufferings of importers in the South-east zone of the country. Speaking yesterday at Onitsha during the International Stakeholders’ Conference on “Harnessing the potentials of lower River Niger,” the Minister for Transport, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman said the port had been concluded to start operation by June this year. According to Alhaji Suleiman, the port would among other things reduce the sufferings of the importers in the country and enhance the economic activities in the country, adding that importers would not be subjected to untold sufferings they had faced in the other ports. “Onitsha is the centre of commerce and industry and this part of the country is very essential and that is why the Federal Government decided to hold the summit here it would enable it know the extent the dredging of the lower Niger has gone.” “The National Inland Waterway Authority will work in collaboration with the private sectors to make sure the port and other infrastructure are sustained and maintained so that our people will maximize the gains of democracy.” Also speaking, the state Governor, Peter Obi said the dredging of the lower River Niger and the completion of the Onitsha Port was very critical to his administration’s resolve to industrialize the state. Governor Obi, however, lauded the Federal Government for expeditiously concluding the projects of Onitsha port, which he said would enhance industrialization in the state and the country at large. He called on foreign investors and traders in Onitsha market to maximize the port for effective transportation of their goods and services and expressed worries over the cost at the country’s ports. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2011/apr/12/national-12-04-2011-015.htm |
However, 2015 will possibly divide ACN if that happens. |
jason123:CPC is taking over the norther and division in the south will be a detriment so your point is pretty valid. Although when it comes to the state level in SE(a=including Anioma when its created) im for APGA. If Acn grabs the MB then i think nationally all parts of the south should probably join. |
jason123:You may be on to something, I may have to do some more political calculations but you might be on to something. |
