Those churches will never be rebuilt in that state again. Its one of the tools to get rid of christians in the north. The governors,by past examples, always disallowed the destroyed churches to be rebuilt whenever destroyed, with the exception of a couple to cover up their overall goal. |
ndu_chucks:Lets hope that it's the beginning of reprisal attacks against Hausas in the south. |
ChinenyeN:Not difficult. Especially if after she learns it, when around her parents or clansmen she can start transitioning. The reason why it may be difficult for you is because you don't care too much to lose it and/or you are regularly speaking it with your parents or clansmen. |
ekt_bear:There are indigenous Igbo communities in Ado LGA. As far as other LGAs, there may be but i have to do more research. ekt_bear:Idomas are very related to Igbo. This is not by intermarriage primarily but, according to stories I read, our mixing with them have been going on for ages. There are even claims that we were one ethnic group at a time. You can definitely find lots of info about Igbo/Idoma relations through internet sources. On another note, but relative, you can't look at David Mark and tell me that you would think twice about him being an Igbo man if you saw him in person, even if you didn't already know he's not Igbo, lol. He's an Idoma man. |
Violence: Non-indigenes threaten court action against Buhari, Shekarau By Mustapha Salihu, Kano Saturday, 23 Apr 2011 Non-natives under the aegis of Leaders of Ethnic Communities Resident in Kano State have threatened a legal action against the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Ibrahim Shekarau for complacency in deploying security personnel to forestall last Monday’s post-election protests. Also to be dragged to court are the Congress for Progressive Change and its presidential candidate, Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) over a statement during his campaign in which he urged the masses to protect their votes. Speaking exclusively with our correspondent in Kano, the president-general, Leaders of Ethnic Communities in Kano, Chief Tobias Idika, accused the CPC and Buhari of instigating the political unrest across the Northern parts of the country in the last week. He said, “Leaders of non-natives in Kano, after a thorough deliberation on the massacre and ethnic cleansing perpetrated in Kano as a result of the outcome of the presidential poll, have decided that they will not let the matter go like that.” Idika, who is also the chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo in Kano, said that unlike in the past where non-natives simply resorted to God, this time, they had decided to use all available legal means to bring the perpetrators to book. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201104234461967 |
Fresh trouble for IBB, Atiku, Gusau By Olusola Fabiyi, Abuja Saturday, 23 Apr 2011 This is not the best of times for the trio of former dictator, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida; former vice-president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; and former National Security Adviser, Gen. Aliyu Gusau, as the three of them may soon be punished by the Peoples Democratic Party for alleged anti-party activities. Also included for punishment was a former Minister of Finance, Mallam Adamu Ciroma. Three of them were among the presidential aspirants who fought for the party’s ticket, which was won by President Goodluck Jonathan last January. Jonathan won the presidential election with his running mate, Alhaji Namadi Sambo. The President had defeated Abubakar at the party’s presidential primaries. Before then, the former VP had emerged as the consensus candidate of the North, having defeated Babangida and Gusau in a shadow election conducted by the Ciroma-led Northern Leaders Political Forum. However, the four of them, who are still members of the ruling PDP, were said to have been involved in the botched alliance talk between the Action Congress of Nigeria and the Congress for Progressive Change. The alliance, if it had worked, would have allowed the ACN and CPC to produce a single presidential candidate, who would have confronted President Jonathan in last Saturday’s presidential poll. The thinking within the leadership of the party at its headquarters in Wadata Plaza, Abuja, is that the aim of the four prominent members of the party was that the opposition should design a means of defeating Jonathan at the poll. However, the deal did not work as neither the presidential candidate of the ACN, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, nor that of the CPC, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was ready to step down for the other. But rather than deny their involvement in the alliance talk, which is being considered as an anti-party activity by the PDP, Babangida, Atiku and Gusau claimed through a source that the alliance talk did not fail because of their involvement. Their source claimed that they got involved in the deal because they “were approached by the CPC and ACN leaders to negotiate the alliance deal.” They added that their intervention was at the instance of the ACN and CPC leaders, adding that if the talks ultimately collapsed, it had nothing to do with their involvement. But at the meeting of the members of the National Working Committee of the PDP on Wednesday, the case came up and members agreed that Babangida, Atiku, Gusau and Ciroma had engaged in anti-party activities with their conduct and involvement with the opposition. The members, one after the other, were said to have said that all of them, with their conduct, had shown that they did not work for the success of the party in the National Assembly and presidential elections. A member of the NWC, who spoke with our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, said that “members were of the opinion that these men be punished. “We believe that they are not bigger than the party, and if a minister could be suspended based on anti-party activities, there is nothing stopping us from also dealing with these individuals.” Asked about the decision that was arrived at the meeting, he said the issue was put aside for further discussion “because some of our members felt that we should approach it with caution.” http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201104235261946 |

I'd have to agree with sagewood. And if his suggestion isn't possible for you then I would suggest you take andres advice and take general igbo classes. That way when time comes you can at least interact verbally with u parents or others from your town and differenciate which words belong to ur town and which doesn't. You can simply replace them and the transition is so much better. Learning general igbo can just be used as a foundation to get things started. |
Great plan Onlytruth! This is exactly what we need to do. ![]() |
What a waste of time, breath, and money. Let him and quell the next riot himself. Funny guy. |
Eko Ile:Thanks 4 the laugh. bashr4:I'm sure they have that plan, at least I hope. |
MASSOB warns against killing of Igbo in North On April 21, 2011 · · In News BY CHIDI NKWOPARA The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has warned that it could not afford the luxury of folding its arms and watch helplessly as Ndigbo continue to be slaughtered in the Northern states. MASSOB read the riot act in a communique issued Tuesday evening, after its emergency meeting at Freedom House, Okwe, Onuimo local government area of Imo State and signed by the National Director of Information, Comrade Uchenna Madu. “The Movement condemns the killing of innocent people, particularly Ndigbo, in the Northern part of Nigeria. MASSOB will not fold its arms and watch the killing of Ndigbo in the Northern part of Nigeria. “If the killing and maiming of innocent people, particularly Ndigbo, continues in the next 24 hours, there will be no guarantee that the perpetrators of such evil acts will not be effectively challenged,” the group warned. Condemning the riot, which has been largely linked to the presidential election, described as largely free, fair, peaceful and credible by local and international bodies, MASSOB, however, urged Ndigbo to remain calm. It said: “Ndigbo are advised to remain calm wherever they are in Nigeria and await further instructions. Where assistance and attention are needed, Ndigbo are advised to call the following lines, 08125694759, 08063425055, 07032635198 and 08055907144.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/04/massob-warns-against-killing-of-igbo-in-north/ |
Militants threaten reprisal over killings by Northern protesters On April 21, 2011 · · In News By Emma Amaize MILITANTS under the aegis of the Niger Delta Liberation Force, NDLF, last night, threatened to revenge the killings of Christians, especially those from the South-South in the some northern parts of the country by those protesting the victory of President Goodluck Jonathan in the April 16, presidential poll. The group in a statement by its spokesman, ‘Captain’ Mark Anthony, said “NDLF shall be forced to direct its land force to mobilize for action to protect Jonathan’s victory and the future of Niger Delta people. For NDLF, we are ready to counter anybody or group of persons, who believe in resolving problems with violence.” The group said, “the attention of NDLF, has been drawn to the orgy of senseless killings of Christians, especially South-South people in some northern parts of Nigeria by northern protesters over President Jonathan’s victory, which was acclaimed by both international and local observers as the freest, fairest and most credible in the history of the country. “NDLF will not fold its hands and watch northern protesters slaughter Christians like goats in the northern region. We will match action for action, if the killing is not stopped immediately. The country belongs to all of us and no single geo-political region can claim ownership of the country by holding sway to power while milking Niger Delta oil and gas wealth to better their region for over 50 years. “God has opened the eyes of Niger Delta people and we shall not continue to accept and remain second class citizens in our own land while the nation’s economy is being run and sustained with the proceeds of petroleum products found in our lands over the decades with nothing to show, except poverty and extra-judicial killings by Nigerian army.” “This current killing in the North, if it were carried out by Niger Delta communities, the army of genocide under Joint Task Force, JTF, would have bombed and burnt down communities with aerial bomber planes,” it added. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/04/militants-threaten-reprisal-over-killings-by-northern-protesters/ |

Violence in the North: Security tightened in Delta Written by Sylvester Idowu, Warri Wednesday, 20 April 2011 Tight security was mounted round the major cities in Delta State on Tuesday to prevent reprisal attacks on Hausas resident in the oil-rich state. The security measure, Nigerian Tribune gathered, was put in place following the violence that rocked some northern parts of the country in protest against the result of last Saturday’s presidential ticket won by President Goodluck Jonathan. Heavily armed soldiers, backed by armoured tanks, were seen patrolling the major towns, including Sapele, Ughelli, Kwale, Asaba and the twin cities of Warri and Effurun. Security sources, however disclosed that the military patrol of the major towns in the state started shortly after the announcement of the results of the presidential election on Monday night. He said the patrol was only intensified on Tuesday because of the reported violence in some northern states, adding “this is to prevent hoodlums from taking revenge on the Hausas residing here.” http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/20730-violence-in-the-north-security-tightened-in-delta |
@mbatuku1,they shameful governors.@soldee,it has nothing to do with jonathan government. The SE govs have been doing that before he was even in office. |

Afigbofa,are u egun btw? |
Helping imo pdp rig the tuesday elections will only make things worse for jonathan.he should stay out of this one.I hope he is aware what rochas will do if he is rigged out(not to talk of the imo people). |
We're not buying it.Prepare for the whole country to go up in flames if ohakim and others rig on tuesday. |
This thread breathes of insecurity. |
Good(sarcastically speaking).SE protect these people while their governors leave our people to be killed. You are indirectly helping to kill your own people.Happens all the time. Smh |
Yet and still police men and soldiers are not deployed in those potential areas but they are immediately deployed in eastern cities where there are no riots.smh |
Since when does suspension become sacked? Now I see why you people get low score on JAMB exams. ![]() |
