So Labour Party is now more relevant politically than APGA?

The founding fathers of APGA wont like this.

An Ibo party PDP would rather relegate SE to the background in favour of SW

the argument not going your way so you remove the middle belt. firstly define MIDDLE BELT NAME THE STATES.
I don't remember arguing with you to begin with. my first question to you was " The desert north or the middle belt, as far as vegetation goes". Now, middlebelt states: Benue State, Kogi State, Plateau State, Nasarawa State, Adamawa State and Kwara State.

this is a myth that  just does not stack up with the facts. i do not and cannot know what the likely population of the different parts of nigeria is but i know what my visceral bias would like it to be.
desert or not the fact remains that the north feeds the south with grain, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, millet onions, beef, sheep, goats and chickens the flow of these products in nigeria is unidirectional from north to south ALWAYS. last year the transporters went on strike and lagos nearly starved with food price inflation of  more than 100%
this is where you find the highest level of irrigation and consumption of fertilisers and other agricultural inputs. there is very little mechanized agriculture in the south .what does this prove nothing really except that we in the south are desperate to show that we have a higher population. that particular argument is not good enough and indeed suggests the opposite to what is being argued.the reality is population has to be measured in the field not deduced by specious reasoning that seems good to us. i was in nigeria during the last census and know for a fact that ethnicity was not recorded during the last census. for all we know the majority population of kano may be igbo but there is no way of demonstrating this. the other issue is polygamy this is greatest in northern nigeria. the most recent voter register suggest a higher population in the north. i know people will say it is rigged but[flash=200,200]http://the one fact that won't go away is that this so-called desert produces enough food  for itself and kindly  sends some down to us in our arable south.[/flash]
The desert north or the Middle-belt, as far as vegetation goes? Also, what happens when the SE/SS begins getting these things from Cameroun and the SW get theirs from Benin Republic? When the Norherners when on their strike, i can remember the newspapers saying that the SE was suffering, but you can prove me wrong on that.

The actual true Hausa Population is around 15million with 5million Fulanis. Remember the Fulani and Hausa are different peoples who were united in 1804 by Usman Dan Fodio. PoliticsRe: Buhari, If You Win A Single Ward In South West, I Am Not Seanet02! by Chyz2: 12:32am On Apr 05, 2011
MAYOWAAK:
General Muhammadu Buhari's popularity is scaring the PDP stiff! It's a known fact just measuring by the expenses being incurred by many PDP agencies - Coalition for Transparency and Integrity, Gbagi Foundation, Integrity Vanguard e.t.c. that have been doing negative campaigns in the dailies. General Muhammadu Buhari will certainly win many votes, b, ut he is bound to lose some interesting votes.

GMB will lose in the South East!

While I have many good natured South East Friends and brothers, it's a known fact that South East votes normally go to the highest bidder. In this wise, we know that PDP can not be outbid. Like the old adage expects "they can't be living in River Niger and washing their hands with spittle". I expect GMB to lose in the South East. He will surely have some votes, of intellectuals, corporates and thinkers, he would also have the votes of the nomadic Hausa communities who are present in every state of Nigeria in unbelievable proportions. He would however lose in the South East.

GMB will lose in the South South!

This is only natural and purely based on sentiments - "He's our son, let him do it". Those who think deeply though may be apt to ask for what he has achieved in the last 12yrs of being an office holder. They will ask and wonder why Bayelsa ranks highest in unemployment rate, and why the state is in debt. Not many will ask though, so GMB will lose in South South. Again he will win the votes of elites, he will win of the Hausa/Fulani communities, he will also win with a number of business men. Overall however he is likely to lose in South South.

GMB will lose some votes in South West!

ACN has a stronghold in the southwest, mostly with uneducated minds who only need to be told the logo of who to vote for. These votes will go to ACN all the way. GMB will however win a lot of significant votes in the South West - the voting Hausa community is about 20% of the voting population, the intellectuals as demonstrated by online polls (Channels, 234Next, e.t.c.) will go majorly towards Buhari, and a lot of people that have been reached by the volunteer force will vote Buhari.

GMB will lose some votes to the events of 1984!

He would likely lose the votes of the family of the jailed journalists. The family of the drug trafficking trio who got killed and many individuals who were on the wrong side of the law. He would however win the votes of every honest and disciplined Nigerian who can remember his term as the best thing that happened to Nigeria!

With all these votes that General Muhammadu Buhari will lose, how can he win?

Oh, I'm quite sure he's winning. I bought my flight ticket for the inauguration already, and the only reason I'm going to watch it is because it will be historical to watch Buhari-Bakare 2011 become a reality! What is required to win, is the ability to lose in 24 states + FCT but not lose to score below 25% and then to win overall. In other words, get 25% in 24 states + FCT and win overall. Can Buhari achieve that? Quite easily!

In the North where Buhari will win with Landslide victory there are 40.2 million registered voters. Buhari only needs to score winning percentages here (the types he was recorded to have won on the allegedly rigged elections of 2007) and balance it with 25% of South West to deliver majority votes, and the rest is Victory! All you need to do is go to the villages in the north and you'll see that a merger is not required.

Many have been bordered why GMB is not wasting too much time in the South East, quite easily he loves and respects them as demonstrated by choosing South East VPs two times already, but he knows the South East lacks political structures and unity of voice. South South? Why will you take all from a man, and then take his own family, it's good to at least leave something for him. If you study trends, you'll have observed that by October 2010 the Goodluck Jonathan ticket was at an all time high, and Buhari was a non starter. Between then and now, the trends have headed in opposite directions. It's like in the words of John the Baptist, Goodluck must decrease and Buhari Increase. With one extra week added, the land is sliding steeper!
I laugh laugh at your pea-brain analysis. You think just like a northerner. Rule out the out the SE and SS in any vote for Buhari. Also you have forgotten that we Igbos are in multi-millions up north and our votes will go to GEJ wink. For you to think the SW will vote for Ribadu all the way, even mostly, you are a fool. You must have no connection there whatsoever. And your claim of the "North" voting all for buhari is nonsense. You can cancel out the middle-belt for that one. Even with the rigging, by signing up illegals and children in the north, you will still fail.

I also laugh at the 40.2 million people in the north, that north you are talking about must not be in nigeria. Keep deceiving yourself.

Before I start, i laugh at the claim as as flammable as it was two weeks ago. As if to say it was on fire as the previous times. The articles of the comments made of those in Enugu and Ogun are recollections of the events which even extents to before Goodluck was presidido. Does not say mayhem is going on as we speak. Also, the other article you posted is of 3 people being killed, hostility is hostility, thats the way it is in Naigeria, but i guess you've forgotten. undecided

Buhari did not promote Islam back in 84/85. If anything, the millitary governors actually did not address Nigerians as people from different ethnic groups. That to me is one of the few positives we should have retained. Election 1993 would not have happened if Nigerians were as divided as they are today.  PDP has not only made sure to benefit from dividing the nation into regions and ethnic groups again but the divide also aids them in retaining control over the man different peoples.
I never said Buhari promised Islam in 84/85. Go back and reread my post. As for 1993,nigerians were just as divided then as they are now so you comment on that makes no sense. Bad example. As the claim of PDP,lets get this straight I am for GEJ. Nigeria has always been divided, that's no secret. We are not the same. Regional division was installed in nigeria even before GEJ was even born, so what are you talking about? undecided

Ileke-IdI:
So your simple explanation for the actions of ND militant during GEJ's mishandled presidency is that they were caused by GEJ's oppositions? Did GEJ's oppositions also planned the ND militant events in Ondo and Edo state? You, ore mi, must be high on tar.

So you wouldnt have had any problem with Buhari if his running mate was a born-again abi? Have you reflected on the religious viewpoints of most of our politicians and IF their religious choice has had any influence in their political decision. Let's look at Orji and Obj for example.
Like expected, you can't address my comment with facts, lol. As for Ondo, the business that happened there were betweeen indigenes on that state. They just happened to be from different tribes and the situation was in no way full-blown. Also, what happened in Edo, need you to refresh me on that?

@ the bolded, when did OBJ or Orji make moves based off religion or even promote it? Must be a reason why neither, OBJ, Orji, or even IBB were not labled a religious zealot/bigot like Buhari, I'm just saying undecided. OBJ and Orji, bad example. embarassed

What did he handle well? The budget for Nigeria's '50th? The events going on in Jos? Excusing his fishermen militant in ND? and many others? While you answer these questions, I'd like you to elaborate on the bolded with tangible evidence, thanks.
Excusing his fishermen militants? undecided. Referring to the ABJ bombing as a bases for your argument is pretty weak, especially since the case of the militancy groups such as MEND and others were brought to an end when a round table was called with the leaders of those groups. Those militancy in the Niger Delta, from those groups, have ceased. Every other claims of being "MEND" were political ploys by those against the Jonathan presidency. The holes in the claim of being "MEND" or "Jomo Gbomo" were pointed out by actual MEND leaders. Also, there was another Niger Delta militant group that sprung up, it was immediately crushed by the army and ceased. No more wahala from Niger Delta militants bombing oil companies and kidnapping. You can that Jonathan for that.

The events of Jos were terrible and could have been handled better,i do admit;however, actions were taken and regrouping and organization was put into effect. Now do you hear nonsense like before? No. Thank Jonathan for that. Do also take into mind, nigeria is going through restructure. A lot of the massacres were aided by soldiers of fulani muslim decent as help to their bothers. There has been a shake up in the army which will cut down on the domination of one ethic group over the others which will eventual make things more diverse and harder for ethnically aided attacts on non-tribesmen. You can thank Jonathan for that.

As for my bold, Buhari came in to presidency during his '84 presidency by force. He chose a yoruba Vp, a muslim at that. He promoted is religious bigotry as he is doing now. His way today is violent as during his presidency.NOTHING DIFFERENT THAN BEFORE.

Now you tell me why you are for Buhari and bring specifics and examples, and not what he is said to "PROMISE".
PoliticsRe: How Do You See Nigeria Few Yrs From Now If Goodluck Or Buhari Wins by Chyz2: 1:45am On Apr 04, 2011
Ileke-IdI:
Hmmm. GEJ has handled the presidential seat for a while, and during his regime, he has failed horribly (IMO).
When we talk about the handling of the Jos and Abj situation, I'd have to agree on that, but others, not so. All in all, he has held himself pretty well. He had too many odds against him from the beginning and even up until now is not able to use his full potential of power for various reasons we all know. His presidency was never secure. After the presidential election, assuming he wins,  he has nothing to worry about as far as the exercising of his full presidential powers until to coming of the next term.

When we talk about Buhari, he has done nothing different, virtually speaking, when it comes to how he is approaching the presidency this year versus during his first administration.

Pastor, PDP man beaten over alleged electoral materials’ smuggling

News Apr 4, 2011

By Tony Edike

ENUGU-A Pastor and a politician said to be a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, were severely beaten up by angry youths in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State on Saturday for allegedly aiding the smuggling of electoral materials meant for the botched National Assembly election from Ibagwa-Aka police station.

The cars used by the victims to convey the electoral materials were damaged by the youths said to be supporters of opposition parties who had gathered at the police station for the distribution of the electoral materials.

Shortly after the incident, an angry mob went to town and destroyed some of Governor Sullivan Chime’s campaign bill boards in the area.

Another violence during the botched National Assembly elections was reported at Alor-Agu in the same council, where another politician was also brutalized.

The victim, whose name could not be ascertained, is said to be a member of one of the opposition parties who may have challenged certain politicians over the handling of materials.

An eyewitness said the politician’s head was battered by his assailants.

The ordeal suffered by the pastor who hails from one of the communities in the local council area, according to the eyewitness, started when the vigilant youths resisted attempt by the politicians to use their private cars to convey electoral materials to the polling booths.

I hate to break to you but I doubt that is going to happen! When the Ibo leaders where demanding NO zoning . .  where were you??  undecided undecided
Ndigbo will not get presidency based on zoning. We will get it based on the presentation of a candidate that appeals to the masses. And contrary to your comment about "Igbo leaders", those who called themselves "Igbo leaders", in fact, were Pro-Zoning and even till now were in support of zoning to the North. Don't forget that this is a PDP matter and not national. Also keep in mind, the endorsement by Ohanaeze, a non-political party group which has nothing to do with PDP, were against the North/South zoning claim by the north.Which was clearly a way of them truncating the so-called "agreement" to rotated by zone and not by region.

Now, lets talk about the PDP primaries, I guess the SE were the only region that voted against the north(atiku) in favor of GEJ? Or, did the SS along with the SW not provide block vote for Jonathan as the SE did, not to talk about the north even voting against zoning themselves?

where were you at?? undecided

Zoning of presidency has no place in nigeria, especially when people like the northerners don't want to obey the rule and "agreement". Take the talk of 2015 by the Igbos as meaning "Time to show what we got".
