What would be nice, would be if a dictionary could be compiled for this.. I've long been suggesting that the Lingua franca for the nation be "Pidgin English".. the only language truly spoken all over the country, even by our dear President.. And as we all know, all these slangs form a part of this.. Pidgin, that is..

Let's take a look at some examples..

1. The creation of the nuclear bomb by the americans, and the subsequent bombing of Hiroshima, Japan

2. Ethnic wars on the West African sub-region, and the subsequent slave trade that sprung as a result.. [where the vanquished were sold off to the slave traders]

*Note that this has even more far reaching implications as all over the world, race hate of blacks has been the offspring of this act of thoughtlessness*

3. Bio-germ research, and the subsequent out-breaks of health epidemics [note.. these are those that have no traceable roots nor cures]  all over the world eg. HIV, Ebola, SARS, etc..

The bottom line..

In each of these cases, I'm sure the intent was not to harm mankind or society; but the possibility was always there that someone would twist things to their own benefit.. Hence, the originators do have some degree of culpability...

Back to your issue, I'd advise you to get to know more about her, and to determine exactly what her reservations are about you meeting her.. Coming all the way to Nigeria just to meet a babe is quite a commitment.. [in terms of time and resources.. it's not like u're puddle-jumping to Mexico or Canada (or Cancun, for that matter.. )]..

Firstly, there's nothing really that much wrong in kissing.. it's not like they were having sex or worse.. I honestly don't think that just kissing a guy [or snogging] can lead to the guy breaking up with his fiancee.. my own opinion, the girl [Nike4love's friend] is just trying to catch her fun.. but with the wrong person.. If it eventually does happen that they do break up, then.. well.. maybe the couple was just not meant to be...

In my own opinion, getting engaged at 18 is rather young.. they may be physically mature enough for marrige [or copulation rather, since I guess that this may be the main issue leading to the marrige in the first place.. guy says let's get down.. girl says not till I'm married, guy says let's get married.. and u can fill in the gaps..  ].. Marrige is a serious thing, and the sooner the youths of today [no pun intended..  ] realise this, the better the world will be..

And NO.. my Angelina.. Divorce is not always an option.. By His Grace, when I decide to get married, I will NOT divorce.. the marital vows one makes before God and Man clearly state this.. "Through Thick and Thin, For Better For Worse, For Richer For Poorer.. Till Death Do us Part"... When u've sworn to uphold this, one should realise that there is no going back.. it's like having a child... when u've decided to have one, u just cant throw away the baby if u find out that it's not convenient.. or defective.. you're in for the long haul.. whether you like it or not.. we've all seen where this kind of attitude leads.. and we're all witness to the kind of confusion that this has lead to today..

I don't know why people like complicating matters.. If u already had a man, why then raise the poor boys hopes in the first instance.. He wouldn't be on your case like this if u hadn't given him "green-light" or something..

The simple solution is to arrange to meet him up at a joint somewhere.. [some where posh and exclusive, where he can't cause a scene.. or would be too ashamed to even try causing one..], and then arrive there with your man.. Let your man host everyone for a meal, and then leave with your man.. I'm sure he'll get the message, unless he's a block-head...

To recall a similar situation a long time ago, I was with a girl I was dating then, when this guy calls her, and from her tone, she was definitely not receptive to the guys call [I don't know if it was because I was there or not, because I querried her later on how the guy even got her number in the first instance.. ]

Anyways, she tells the guy that she was with her "husband"??.. and hands the phone over to me.. I then ask the guy who he was and what his business was with her.. the guy ends up stammering, claiming that he was calling from her office.. [which we had just left.. ].. I then offer to come back to the office, if it's an emergency.. the guy declines, saying not at all.. I then tell the guy that I'm familiar with everyone in that office, and I don't recollect ever having met him.. he then drops the phone on me.. [I guess, out of fright at being caught-out or something..  ]

Suffice it to say that he never called her again [to the best of my knowledge.. as you know you can never know.. girls can be funny..   ]
