I believe this is a troll trying to rain on the parade of loving gentle husbands bukatyne: This is a description of a typical 'Nigerian' wife not capable of respecting a husband who loves her.
She is his first love with no previous experience of hurt So He is still pure
The story began to bend when she said He welcomed her with water from traffic instead of shouting like a normal husband I don't know How she jammed this 'abnormal husband'; they are certainly not in the same class.
She even denied him sex for weeks and mismanaged his money because....
She cannot respect him because she is not wired to respect gentle guys.
I pray she gets What she is looking for.

Thank you o. Such annoying thread Eketem: This is why love and submission go together, a submissive woman won't take the love of her husband for granted. You are so used to bad men and hearing stupid stories that a man who decided to save himself and be a good loving husband is now annoying to you.
Don't worry I am sure by the time he starts cheating on you and being disrespectful then you will happily come and lament like your mates.
If you had sense you would respect his love. If you are tired explain gently to him that you are tired why would you refuse him sex for weeks? If you had sense you would respect him giving you his atm and not spend like a silly woman If you had sense you will respect his trust not look for him to slap you for coming home late
You are the one with issues, please divorce him so he won't be turn into a monster to satisfy you.
It is frustrated salon women whose husbands are busy drinking and womanising who are your role models silly woman , very annoying |

Pls don't stop searching. They exist o. A lady like me appreciate men who are sweet and loving like that and I'm sure there are others who do too. Don't give up musicwriter: Why not tell him you don't worth all the care?.
This's a goody-two-shoes type of a guy, my kind of person, and you're so lucky to have him!. I can tell you for sure that man is one-in-a-million and you'll never come across someone to show you half of that type of love till you die. I wish the man stop loving you this moment, cause only then will you understand.
This's why I believe marriage isn't good for people like me, cause another half like me who's a lady doesn't exist. If they do it will take God to locate them.

OP You're the one with the problem Shey it's a crime for a man to love his wife? Apart from him giving you silent treatment when you weren't in the mood to make love, you haven't described anything horrible he has done to you. Oh he wasn't furious because you were stuck in traffic, instead he offered you water and carried your bag and books? And that's a crime? Christ! So you would have preferred if he jumped to silly conclusions about where you'd been and started making trouble the moment you got home? You said you don't like tv channel and he changed it. So what? Jeez lady. You must love suffering. Or you don't know you could have fun going back with him to fix your hair or even do your shopping. Better sit up and appreciate that dude. How do I even know you're not an alternate trying to paint loving husbands black as in unmanly. |

Most of them were raised to believe that showing emotions (except anger) is effeminate which in turn affects their relationship with their kids.
But I guess those things are gradually changing now. |

It can't get much clearer than this. Eketem: ThYour child can do chores at your home but she cannot be engaged to do so by a third party for commercial purposes this is because a child cannot enter a legally binding contract with you to work for you and seek favorable terms and conditions of employment.
The law is there to protect the best interest of the child because even though you say you are fair to the child not everyone who engages these kids are fair to them and sadly the unfair population are in majority.
Besides a child is not psychologically mature enough to leave their own home and go and take care of another persons home and be deprived of love, empathy and the allowance to make mistakes, play and grow like children should do.
I am tired, the law may be slow but it will soon catch up with defaulters |

You guys should stop beating about the bush and hire adults next time. Whether you treat them well or not is not the issue. Child labor is wrong. if those kids had a choice they'd want to be full time in school not looking after someone else's kids for money. That their parents gave them out doesn't mean in their minds they wouldn't want something else just that They just follow what the parents say. |

This is not a women thing.
Most people in Nigeria treat their helps like subhuman. In fact everyone tries their best to make sure that those under them feel every inch of being in the lower class. We have too much ego and pride as a people.
When you talk against child labor, all these people here talking nonsense will be the first to pioneer and attack you. Can't we clearly see that people go for small kids as maids so that they will be easy to treat anyhow without getting any resistance from them? They can't handle adult hells who won't be spoken to anyhow or made to do more than their job description without adequate pay.
We need to change our total orientation. Totally. |

Just listen to yourself Because you as a man will stop existing if you take on a less demanding job to have time for your kids too? Acidosis: The F.G needs to do something fast about under age nannies & career centred couples.
If you know you cannot manage your career and your family, then don't even think about getting married.
I think the institution called marriage should be the sole right of couples who are willing to give their offsprings adequate attention.
Marriage is not a must, you should have stayed SINGLE. There is no dignity in avoidable stress.
Nigeria needs to quickly utilize the Saudi Arabia strategy. Married women should be banned from taking on difficult and time consuming jobs. For those who want the stress, they should stay off marriage.
I don't know why I hate young couples who live apart. I see them as desperate folks whose interests lie on WEDDING RING & MONEY. |

Susubrown your husband seems willing to try. What say you?
If you have been violent towards him, (which you're yet to admit to) are you willing to stop? Are you also willing to stop giving pastors spiritualists open door into your marriage? What about the cheating and best sex allegation? If you really did say that to his face that means you must have the deep seated urge to hurt him. If that's true are you willing to 'forsake all others' and get help with him?
I wish you guys goodluck. |

By your admission youv'e beaten her twice. So maybe it's understandable she's afraid. Who's to say it won't happen again? You're right though about the counseling. You both really need it from professionals (not like nairalanders can't help a little bit ) Well if she agrees to seek help alongside you, are you willing to stop contacting your ex, forget the guy she fake married (it happened 8yrs ago), never raise your hands on her again, and come to terms with the fact that she "had the best sex of her life" with someone else while being married to you? You'd have to let go of all those anger arousing thoughts in order to be able to forge ahead. And it will be hard. So are you ready? I'd advice you to sideline spiritual help for now. The way I see it, Half of the problems in your marriage is coming from your spiritual affiliations. I don't know how you guys can't see these pastors and prophets that see damning visions for what they really are. They sow doubt and mistrust between couples. Pls don't consult any 'man of God' for foresight or bla bla the bla. I promise you you'll be better off praying together than seeking someone else to pray for you. And why do her parents not want you guys together? Have you made any moves in the past to resolve whatever animosity between you and them? Are you willing to do that now? You know it will be hard to keep the marriage afloat if they keep kicking against it. phatxplorer: Like u rightly said I did that 1ce. But after then have not done that until truthfully this last time. When I accused her of flirting she told me point blank dat yes and they gave her d best sex of her life.i won't lie I got angry and slapped her.d armed robber talk was Becoz of her phones dat she cud not find and she had to cover up coz pple were trying to reach her.i brot d pix thing to NL coz I wanted neutral opinion and Neva wanted to make her look bad. I totally admit dat I have my own faults in d whole of this matter and have even. Told her. I think there is more to this than meets d eye, I have even suggested to her dat we need help but she is always saying dat she does not need help, dat am d only 1 dat needs help.I Neva put this on NL to make her look bad, but we really need help.both physical (counselling) and spiritual. |

I sort of got tired of saying this over and over again. So I just ignore such posts even when they Annoy me. Our people would rather support child labor than teach self control to full fledge adult males. SMH. Eketem: Send your own 11 year old daughter to be a househelp then come back and tell us if your daughter was a " good one" to somebody.
An 11 year old child has no business being a househelp, she is a developing child who needs to learn and play not be saddled with your kids. Gosh, what is wrong with us? Stop this please. Hire a professional or get a creche, stop being penny wise and pound foolish not to talk of illegal, an 11 year old can barely take care of herself. If you are afraid of your husbands fidelity with an older girl then deal with your husband not make a child your maid abeg. |

Are you saying he's lying about that? And whatever happens make sure that girl gets to know and have a relationship with her father. You don't have the sole right to the child. She's jointly 'owned'. Also important are you willing to own your faults in this and make peace or is your mind strongly made up about the divorce? |

Mmm. Okay. So you never beat her (your wife) like she said? I mean apart from the one time you admitted she called your family useless and you slapped her. You didn't beat her frequently that she had to use armed robbers as excuse to explain away the bruises? I know why I'm emphasizing on the beating part because domestic violence is a no no in my opinion. And more importantly why did you bring the issue to NL? Are you willing to own your faults in this case and work towards a solution or you just want to make her look bad? |
