You're welcome. smiley

Lol. Talking about Africa, how many men will advice one another to stay with a wife who is sleeping around town because she may be addicted? Story story.
If he even does, they will cuss him out for being a weakling and what have you.
His family will turn on him for accommodating ashawo in his home.
Just try to advice them to endure and seek professional help with the woman and see the way they will react. Fear go catch you sef grin

So I'd say while I didn't even think about it that way (addiction) until I watched this movie, I can understand why more people including myself are clamoring for men to held to the same standards they hold women to.
Because none of them will take addiction as an excuse to forgive that kind of wife and stay to work it out. Lai Lai.

Although sexual addiction isn't very popular an ailment, it is understandable now to me.
The movie was a little eye opener.
I agree People should communicate more.
That could have saved this couple lots of heartache.

I'm glad they worked it out finally.

edwife:
@cococandy that was some movie,i really enjoyed it because lately in Africa or should I say in Nigeria,we are meant to believe that every men who cheat or sleep around is a womaniser without even bringing the possibilities that they might be addicted and need help, rather we will ask the spouse to leave because there is a better man out there....without considering the fact that this is marriage,a contract.(same with women)

If We have people from the west(not immigrants) that can still keep these values then i still stand on my belief and morals.
Bottom line, don't jump to conclusion and always communicate in a marriage.

Even a woman who already built her house before getting married will be sent back to her fathers house grin. Even the men who are living in the woman's house will also send her to her fathers house grin. The woman who met her husband and they got married abroad will still be sent back to her fathers house in Nugeria grin. The one sharing rent with the woman will send her to her fathers house grin. Very funny people.
as in.

The most annoying is ones that even built the houses together with their wives still think they can send the woman out. To her father's house of course.
The woman is never regarded as more than a child who will always be under someone's roof.

Bunch of sexists. undecided

In any case can you see what a holy Christian person did to a child in the name of discipline?. And I'm sure she ran to church afterwards to praise and dance unto God. And collect prophesies too.

Sheriff777 and chigold101 -

Pls you guys should leave the poor innocent househelp alone Biko. Stop raping and maltreating her. In the first instance, she is a minor and shouldn't be a maid.

madam chigold101, who gave her all those marks on her body? Even if your husband is lying about everything, those marks are for real. So how did she get those marks? Pls fear God o

Oga sheriff777, pls stop sleeping with the help if you truly are. Use your plenty money to send her to school and not physically abuse her or take advantage of her. Please I beg you. She is too young to take care of your kids, hire a more matured woman to take care of all of them.

I honestly feel like reporting this case of child abuse to the authorities. Can somebody help plssss?? Whoever flogged that girl like that should be behind bars!

GboyegaD:
In my case, cooking can be done by any party, and growing up, there were some days my dad did the cooking and it never made him less of a man. Expectations were made by men and everyone has a right to which expectations he chooses to live by and which ones he changes.
Yea I remember preferring my dads food to my moms when I was small.
He cooked often and it didn't reduce his masculinity too.

My hubby is one of the best cooks I've ever known and he's more man than many I know.
I know a few others too who are like that.

So I agree with you that it can be done by anybody.

Just that this guy wife no wan even try at all. (Judging from the comment) To me that's not totally fair.

@bold is so true. Seems they didn't come to an understanding before tying the knot.
Now they don't have a Choice than to adjust to each other's expectations.

I seriously doubt it. This is Africa, and although I understand that most folks in the western countries have more liberal views of shared responsibility in domestic issues, the fact remains is the cooking is the duty of the wife. Whatever the husband does in the kitchen is only support.

The girl needs to wake up and grow up
Maybe Mr Gboyegad lives in the west.
That way, he could be married and still have such opinions.
Or he's one of the few who don't live in the west but also share such opinions.

And facts do vary from person to person anyway.
Who made it a fact? someone else can decide that's not the fact for them and we have a right to respect their own opinion.

OP assumed his wife would see it that way.
Hmm. Mistake.

I hope they work it out sha.

*Na wa o family section dey discourage peeps from marrying, there's always one issue threatening a marriage*
@bold, good point.

Don't be discouraged.

Little things turn to problems for those who let it.
And lack of appreciation for each other gets in the way too.

This Couple don't even have a problem.
Something they can easily work out with a little compromise.
