kennyman2000: That motherly respect is what some people still mistake for that motherly love hence they still place their mothers love over that of their wives. Someone like me is a good case study. Motherly love is still different. No one can love you like your mom and you can't love another woman like your mom. But it's a different kind of love. You have a romantic love with your wife. And a filial love for your mom. That's two parallels that shouldn't meet. Why the comparison self. Some kind of funny questions these nairalanders ask. |

Kachisbarbie: Nne the matter tire me o. I wonder if their mothers don't give them orientation. No son of mine would grow up and say that rubbish (my mother first, then you)to his wife. Except I don't hear it...my reaction would really shock him.
Give me my respect, that motherly respect. Then go meet your wife. Let my husband and I enjoy our old age-love, I heard that's when it's sweet sef. Na suffer head wives that didn't have any love from the husbands of their youth that turn into those clingy over bearing MILs later in life. When they should be in retirement strolling the globe with their husbands and enjoying their old age together since they don't have kids to support or mortgage to pay anymore. |

Kachisbarbie: ]There is nothing confusing about that grid up there. Babymamma is just all 'bout the child. That's where her right ends. She shouldn't be in the picture.
The various women in a man's life are all important and should be able to respect their boundaries.
^^^God's view on marriage
I feel mothers that hustle for their son's love are insecure, because if she is so busy and loved up with her husband_ she would have better things to do. My MIL for example, her omugwo doesn't pass 1mth o. She would say her husband is missing her...fiam, she done disappear.
Secondly, guys that place their mothers above their wives are confused...unconscionable level of confusion. If you are married to a woman that you can have mind to place as a second fiddle, then you need orientation(from your 'special mother'),'should probably not be married to the innocent woman or you're married to the wrong woman. Nobody should tell me my mother suffered for me...I know right. A mother's nurture should be straight outta love, not for some cheap emotional blackmail. Your mother has been getting good loving from her husband, now you are married...you say it's still her? Are you okay? So the wife is supposed to wait till her son grows and gets married, then start dragging love with the DIL? And the cycle continues? ??
As for wives and daughters, no sane mother would feel threatened. Dads gat this natural bond with their daughters. As long as it's healthy, it's safe and allowed. @bold. I guess so. |

Beg beg beg your fiancé.
if you could hide a child from her, there's no wonder she's worried about the future. Give her time too. Hopefully she will come around.
How you're going to make it up to her and prove to her that such a thing won't happen in your marriage is up to you.
She just needs that reassurance that she's not going into some marital trap where babies will be popping up left right and centre from different women and threatening the unity of your nuclear family.
I'd be worried if I were her too. |

@bold, yea that could happen. damiso: At the moment we do school dinners. The school dinners in my borough is really good as well and my daughter's school is signed up to a healthy school programmes. No other drinks but water and milk and the only snacks are fruit and veg. You can inform them if your child has allergies.
Packed lunches get monotonous sometimes especially with having to store or keep at the right temperature etc so one is sometimes limited to sandwiches and even that sef you can't use certain fillings.
I know someone who used to prepare her children's lunch to drop at the school at 11.50 so their own food too can be hot like the others.Obviously I don't have the luxury of that as I work full time and even if I did I know myself I would get fed up. |

Realizing your problem and admitting you have it is halfway to the solution already. You're on the right path. Keep working on your mind.
It helps to put yourself in people's shoes too. That way when you're being unfair to them, you will know immediately. |

There's always something fun going. A comedy show or any of those performance shows. You don't want to be laughing by yourself. Lol. And really nobody sleeps well on a cruise ship. Lol. Hi you too. How are you? nairamaniac: heeyyyy youuu. cococandy! goshhh I missed u. u are soooo lost&found. I'm quoting on this thread cos of you. your moniker rung a bell, I opened ur profile and saw it was you. how can I miss this cute-Tyra-Banks fore-head of yours.
Remember me? The smooth-talker-stalker. The one u promised your twin. I took you very seriously. having one of you Doppelganger WD be a blessing, even as a friend(@least). Is she as interesting&enlightened as u. I doubt that. let me guess, she's the Elena BTW u both, while you are the Katherine.
Let me shed some light on the op's post.
Dear O.P, I advice you not to honour the invitation. Use your head. The bride needs your presence to massage her ego. Your ex(her fiance) and his relatives have sed nice things bout you. she needs you around as a point of reference to show invited quest the strong rivals/contestants that she defeated to win the groom. if her motive was sincere she WD HV stretched her arm of friendship to you off-camera, not on the floor of her ocassion whereby she's the star of the movie.
She's not a very nice person. That's not very considerate of her. A nice bride shd empathise more with her groom's ex'es. Not mock them or make them a yardstick of case-study. if you wanna go, don't go alone. rent-a-date. u can pick up a denzel or Boris kodjo for that day. someone hotter than both the bride&groom, put 2geda. Don't even stay long. make them both look stupid. like its his loss, that he lost you.
I for one(as a guy), have never honoured invitation to any of my ex'es wedding, cos the day belongs to her groom and not me. I find it selfish&insensitive.

If one is not careful and watchful about what they eat, one won't know till something bad happens. As soon as I stopped the soy milk, no more pain. Mtchew I'd vote an 18yr old child before I vote buhari. Eww. I dislike everything he is. Ioannes: You are right. Buh I wish Nigerians would realise that it is virtually impossible at this stage of our National life to have a party made up of saints. IMO, APC is a better party because of the person of Buhari and not because of it's members. If we support Buhari we can force the thieving leaders to commit class suicide. This would never ever have been our hope had PDP won the elections, what with the "goat and yam" theory and "corruption is not stealing" proclamation. Let's hope Buhari will do the needful and jail whoever is indicted by the law courts for fraud irrespective of party affiliations. One thing puzzles me though, PDP had the opportunity for the last 8yrs to drag Tinubu before a competent judge and try him for corruption and embezzlement but they didn't... I guess they were too busy helping themselves to the national cake or the man is innocent. |
