Family › Re: What Open Marriage Taught One Man About Feminism by cococandy(f): 5:17pm On Jul 28, 2015 |
How do we know who raised the topic first? He had the choice to say an emphatic NO but probably didn't because he thought it would be fun to be able to sample other ladies. He just didn't put into account how her own sampling other guys would make him feel. It is still not late for him to put a stop to the nonsense instead of whining about feminism. If he was slutting around and she was the "ever-prayerful-wear-red-pant-and-green-bra-cook-his-favorite-meal-to-win-him-back" kind of wife, we won't be hearing about feminism on this issue. Folks can't take what they dish. Don't be surprised the wife could tell you she's not feminist. TV01: I think Vivaldiva99's analysis is closer to the mark. His sleeping around is forced - and probably encouraged by her to make it seem equal. She's the one who want's to slut around. He doesn't want to lose her, she doesn't care. Indeed, he lost her already, she has just artfully arranged things to keep it convenient and him at her service.
I would have said this was spot on - except for one thing. Feminism is not about "equality" it's about female privilige - to act as they like without consequence. Which is what she's got - along with a baby sitter she occassionally treats to sex.
And there's no such thing as an open marriage - by definition marriage is about fidelity. Men always maintain higher status in your wifes eyes - attraction hinges on it and without it she is liable to stray.

They are both having their cakes and eating it. He's moping about it because he's selfish. He wants to be the only one licensed to fvck about town. Good for him that his wife is like him. So whatever he's feeling, he can rest assured she feels it too when he's away. Well he can also go out and father a child there. So in that aspect, it's equal what they are doing to each other Besides Marriage is not only for procreation. But you're right it has nothing to do with equality or feminism. Na just two people who woulda been better off not married to each other. Or maybe they would be totally fine being married to each other if he's not having second thoughts about the arrangement he's benefiting from too. Vivalavida99: Now my question is, does feminism has anything to do with open marriage? Not at all feminism has nothing to do with open marriages. It's about equality in a marriage, work, social environments, and parenting. Marriage is for the purpose of bearing children, which means having sex, which means she's out getting f'd! She's in a position to bear another man's child. How is that equality? It's not! It's her taking advantage of a dipsheet husband who's been brow-beaten into compliance so that she can get her way. She's getting free dinner and sex while you're bearing the cost and responsibility of her maintenance! Your relationship isn't based on any sense of feminism. There's no equality there. She's having her cake and eating it, too! And you're endorsing her lifestyle while she's out playing the field! Either end your sham marriage for the sake of the children, or demand devotion for the same reason because this relationship isn't a relationship. It's roommates with children. |

Both of them are sampling other folks about town and he's trying to say it's because he supports feminism? Is that what gives him license to sleep with other women too? Lol I see he wants to be the only one sleeping around then it won't be feminism's fault that they are promiscuous. Anyway HIV is real Mr and Mrs. You guys better woulda been better as single co-parents. |

thorpido: The statement I got from the mouth of one of the police officers who brought the corpse was that the crime was committed by a group of young boys and that some of them have been apprehended.
Very young boys are doing terrible things now.You will be amazed what some secondary school boys re up to nowadays. What are we going to do? chineke. What's responsible for this kind of behavior among young children? How did they not even feel anything while committing this horrendous crime? Hei. This is beyond normal. I'm so saddened. |

There's something you're not saying. You mean she's been blamed for the man losing his job and the MIL losing her husband? Seems like a lot of superstitious ish is going on there. Pls get to the root of the matter as soon as possible for those kids to have peace and some kind of stability in their lives. obiksam: If some are witch how do you know. She is the one that is a witch, debolic and suffering from spiritual husband for her to be running out. She can't pray nor read the bible she will instantly fall asleep. I believe that it is the mother in-law prayers that is forstrating her. Because when he married her the mother in-law lost her husband after one year he lost his job after another a year and half she has runaway more than three times and keep coming back and the fool never care to ask and no why and where she have been running to until this last one. So please don't think that the mother in-law is a witch |

I know the particular lingerie that's responsible for this situation now. It has been boxed and sealed until further notice. edwife: Low as you can get
So you think wrapper and boxer will save you hun?
What does it take to remove them?seat down there, even at that if you think being preggy will exempt you-you are on a long tin.....
Unless you have medical reason. |

Great advice.
But what makes you think housewives stay home all day and do nothing? That's a fallacy. Some wives work in the house more than they would if they were at work. Some are even more stressed than than the husband who's winning the bread.
Still being a permanent stay home mom is not something any woman should aspire to because the downsides are plenty. |

obiksam: I Tire ooh, he is taking good care of the two kids by himself. I dont see any reason why she should sent such sms Well if someone calls you a witch, you don't try to prove them wrong by going to consult juju for them. That's like proving them right. I know that place in mbaise. People dread it and they say the juju is strong. I have no belief in such things but if he's the type that goes to such places, he shouldn't be surprised if someone suspects his family of practicing witchcraft. |

She's out of line calling your mom a witch. Regardless. But that's a symptom of a disease.
What's the disease? That's what you guys need to treat to prevent further occurrence of such in future. Your kids shouldn't grow up disrespecting their grandmother and that's what will happen if she continues like that.
What does she (ex) want from you and your family? If she left willingly, she will be happy to be out of your lives. Not unhappy and raining abuses from your family on the other side. You know what she wants and details that the we don't. But if you don't ,Figure that out and you will probably resolve the matter permanently
Meanwhile who's taking care of the little kids? |

My dear, the way most Nigerians reason would get any sane person frustrated. The frustration gets worse when you try to pass any message across to them. The most annoying part is always when women try to justify the rape or murder of another woman. This whole thing is just evidence of a dysfunctional society. |
