I love this. Companies and government agencies must step up their games in monitoring what people post online.

You cannot be destroying the image that brands invested time, efforts and resources to build in the name of cruise.

Wrongdoings must have consequences in Nigeria.

In that case, she should have written to NAFDAC and SON instead of jumping out on Facebook.
Besides did she write to company to lodge a formal complaint about the product?
Are you people okay?

Everyone has a right to publicly review a product they purchased whether positively or negatively.

I can’t wrap my head around the fact that some people think it’s okay to arrest someone for a negative review

I whole heartedly agree with the bolded
Konquest:
@Cococandy, you made some valid points there.

That's why my prior post's emphasis was on the key word, "symbiosis."

Based on the insightful books
I have read over the years in my home library, it is clearly evident that many globally successful millionaire businessmen and moguls in autobiographies, biographies, etc, have affirmed the major roles their wives (spouses) played over the years in providing moral and financial support for them (the men) to gravitate towards financial success at critical turning points in their lives.

Yes, a man has to be self-motivated, and not put much demands on his overworked woman or she could unravel, but the type of woman he get's married to would make or mar him. Hence it's vital for men and women to have emotional intelligence and work in sync with one another as a nuclear family. If you don't have these attributes, then don't get married. It's also not a crime to be unmarried as many have found inner peace that way.

He’s a grown man and supposedly the family leader. So in addition to the wife doing his duties and her duties, she needs to coddle him like an infant as well.

Does he not know the road to “the online”?

Imagine doing all that and still be blamed for not finding time between the multiple hours of business/ house work to teach him how to be a grown up undecided

The tribalism on this forum sha. Lord have mercy

You said something that’s meaningful and ruined it with a sweeping tribalistic generalization. If someone wants to give their two cents in agreement with what you said, the tribalism makes it difficult.

smiley when you tell them to hush these meaningless superstitions they’ll call you names.

HardMirror:
Hello nairalanders.
Recently, there has been an increase in the incidence of manhood disappearing. This is an old street format that criminals use to rob and extort people. Those being accused are actually the victims and those claiming their manhood disappeared are criminals. I have seen this first hand and this is how it works.

These criminals work in groups.
They would position themselves around and look out for someone they know they can easily intimidate, like if you look fresh and gentle.
one of them will walk up to you and hit you, before you can react, he would scream on top of his voice that his joystick has disappeared.
Now, this is where it gets really deadly.
Before you can defend yourself, his gang members would quickly come out from where they are waiting and begin to beat you. Some of his co criminals would pretend they checked the penis and they would confirm that they joystick had truly disappeared. It is all planned and they are all together.
In the process of beating you, your phones, wallet and other valuables, even your shoes will go missing. But you are fighting for your life, so you are not focussed on the things they are already stealing off you.
But because Nigerians are superstitious, they would believe the criminals and join hands in beating the unfortunate young man they accuse.

Guys, be careful out there and let us ensure we hand these criminals to the police.

This format works because Nigerians are too superstitious. Those people you see being accused are the victims.
I have personally witnessed it and it is similar to a format criminals use in computer village where the victim gets accused and beaten by the criminals stealing your phones. We have had to recover a phone of a victim that fell for something similar to this. The criminals even almost stabbed the boy just to steal his phone.

Be careful on the street guys. Stop smiling and looking weak when you walk on the street.

I see.

Sad situation all around.
I mean the only way they could have killed him was if they found a way to poison him somehow. Otherwise I don’t see how they could have killed him.

And if they did, that would be an extreme method of debt collection. Phew
N3TRAL:
Yes, Mohbad left Marlian Records that brought him to limelight when he had a bit of Fame. He started his own label when the end of his contract wasn't near.

For instance, in the music business, if you're to perform on a show as a musician, clients have to contact your manager appointed by your record label so that they can receive the payment and remit your agreed share to you. Since he's left the label despite a subsisting agreement, in such circumstances Marlian Records will hire boys thugs to threaten him during such events where he got the job without informing the label and in some instances, he'd be assaulted.

He was even attacked during a video shoot with a more famous artiste whom he partnered with without informing the label. The intimidation went on for a while but not very recently.

As far as I know, the cause of his death as not been established to be through physical trauma or injury. He was reported to be sick and he kicked the bucket while undergoing a medical routine in the care of an "auxiliary" nurse.

The fans are now saying that Naira Marley murdered him.

So that’s what led to the fall out?

One piece of the puzzle complete. I was genuinely lost as no one was saying what actually happened
N3TRAL:
Mohbad is dead and he went to the grave on his family's approval but was brought back for autopsy due to public interest.

It is okay to mourn the early demise of the short-lived popstar but I stand with Naira Marley in all of this.

I stand with Naira Marley as a capitalist believer. Zinolesky, Mohbad, Kizz Daniel, Ayra Starr, Rema, Asake, Fireboy, Khaid are not musical stars just because they are talented. In fact, being a popular musical star has nothing to do with knowing how to sing or one's dexterity with musical instruments.

They're musical stars because someone took a loan from the bank or lenders and invested tens of millions of Naira or even dollars to put them in your faces until you accept them as stars by force. Everyone blames the record label bosses because they're not the main actors who perform on stage.

An idea is worth nothing without the resources to amplify it. In tech, angel investors and venture capitalists take the lion's share leaving founders with the bulk of the burden. In sports, agents like Mendes take their big cut. If it was easy, Mbappe would just wake up and leave PSG for Madrid. Why is it always different in the music business?

Defend the deceased as much as you like but the fact remains that nobody on the face of the earth forced him to sign the deal with Marlian records. When you sign an agreement, fortunately, one that brings fame and money to you, the least you can do is honour it.

If Loan Apps in Nigeria, like Palmpay, that have foreign investors and major corporate personnel have resorted to blackmailing the families of loan defaulters and even crashing events to disgrace and arrest their debtors what do you think street boys who hustled all their lives will do if a fellow ghetto nobody they lifted out of poverty plays ping pong with their millions worth of investment?

I unequivocally condemn the mode of debt recovery above as I only used that real-life scenario to point out the fact that Mohbad was Naira Marley's debtor until he died. The Courtroom or Arbitration house remains the best destination for dispute settlement.

However it must be stated that Mohbad's tragedy and Naira Marley's cancellation is like a loan app debtor committing suicide because the loan sharks blackmailed him to his family, friends, and colleagues. Naira Marley is simply that loan shark whose chronic debtor is involved in a fatal accident while trying to avoid the loan shark's constant harassment. Nobody blames the dead debtor but everyone blames the loan shark who had once given the debtor money and hope even though the debtor failed to keep his own part of the bargain.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family in their period of grief. I genuinely mourn Mohbad but refuse to join the herd to link his death to Naira Marley.

Just to correct a notion (not that I’m on the other guy’s side) but $1-5 is still valuable here. Very much so.

Police do harass and kill people here. Definitely not on the Nigerian scale by any means but it happens. However they can’t extort you for money.

Quality healthcare? Maybe by third world standards yes. But by first world standards, not so accessible for everyone except in emergencies (because of EMTALA) .

I’ve heard people complaining about insurance being a pain in the peach and not paying for what they are supposed to pay for. It can be very expensive. Although there are ways around it.

UnfairLife7:
you will live an average life over there but in Nigeria with our fallen currency you'd live an affluence life reason why i laugh at you claiming most diasporans building houses in Nigeria are into crime.

Since you have been there oya tell me what you can buy with $1 in US please. What can you buy with #1? What can you buy with #5? Didn't we also work for the #1 or #5 in Nigeria with our blood? Or the #1 and #5 is a freebie by the government?

If you by chance see one person that cannot feed in US then obviously you must have seen millions of Nigerians dying of starvation daily. Mostly in the core northern region and some parts of the south. It is better to beg for food in those developed countries but at least your life is secured. Police cannot harass, EXTORT or kill you. You cannot shout up NEPA once power comes. You cannot take your car to mechanic every week. Your children will not be packed in one class like Sandrine smelly profusely all in the name of public primary and secondary school. You have access to quality healthcare unlike Nigeria that it may take one several weeks before a doctor would attend to you (all Nigerians doctors have all relocated) at least you're not scared of thieves or armed robbery coming to your house at night or blocking you on your way like we have here in Nigeria

I'm glad there was students loan available for all and sundry. Everybody has access to it without being hijacked or going through godfatherism before they can access it and they are most likely sure of jobs after school to pay up the loan gradually.

Who pay over 200k as tuition fees with 30k minimum wage? What's the point of paying all those amounts and at the end of the day they ended up jobless or underemployed? What's the point of paying such exobetant amount of money and at the end of the day joining other millions of unemployed graduates roaming the streets? These same jobless or underemployed Nigerians would have the privilege to relocate and began to make explicit. Coming out top of their class in school in those countries and getting descent jobs.

I have a “friend” whose hostel was robbed, they made a complaint to the police the next day as they were supposed to do, then the following night the police raided them to look for suspects because they believe it was an inside job. That’s where their investigation wanted to start undecided

Who do you think they arrested? All the innocent young boys in that hostel including the victims. Do you think they took them to the police station, questioned and let them go? If you believe so, I have a bridge to sell to you.

For one week no one knew where my friend was because they keep transferring them (or so they claimed) because the investigation had gotten to the “higher ups”. Another claim that was probably made in order to extort as much money as possible. Those who had people to call were finally able to call out in about a week. After paying LOTS OF MONEY and making statements, they eventually got to go after like two weeks.

Now think of the innocent boys that were putting themselves through school and didn’t have anyone on the outside to raise such fund for them?

I hope you or no one you know encounters such. But just because it hasn’t happened to you doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

And The fact that you’re making me defend Nigerian boys on the internet ? ? ? ?

Nigerian youths don’t like stop and search they see it as assaults which is normal In saner climes as they call it when they’re being interrogated they reply with insults which result to abuse something they can’t try in outside of their country.
I’m a night crawler I’ve never had any issues with police when they stop me I submit myself with respect once you respect them they ain’t MAD people they’ll definitely respect you.
What causes police brutality most times are as a result of disrespect. Even when I break the law I settle amicable but some people will still want to claim right which definitely leads to Assault.
As for the bad Eggs if you know what you’re doing and you’re on your right no one can job you forget online noise someone that bribe to maneuver a punishment Will come online to disturb our peace that the police are collecting bribes without giving the full story . No police can extort me without me breaking the law except they’ve a gun on my head which is not common .
