I guess we should ask the straight parents who raised all these gay folks in the world how they managed to achieve it.

Nooooo,
Its the problem o!
We backward nigerians that have never been 'exposed' to the good old U.S of A have one mentality doncha know? We only get 'exposed' when we travel out. Like pimpin or is it pippimp used to think like us before he went abroad and became 'exposed' grin
grin
Oh alright.
You know av got a soft spot for you ever since u dropped engine grin
5minsmadness:
Same as men in ghana, india, pakistan and Brazil have been sleeping with thier daughters. However in all these places it is considered a crime. It is only in the west that they glamourise it. Disgusting.
Why would i gloat over evil ? You think i'm gloating when i mention u in these threads?
I'm concerned when it happens in the west because the west is more apt to turn such fiascos into law, immoral filthy law, and the majority of the world's youth and future leaders are easily impressionable and blindly follow in order to appear 'civilized'.
undecided
5minsmadness:
I metion u because u support it.
I 'cry more than the bereaved' because anything the west does affects our youth and they see it as acceptable and cool (unfortunately).
I stand against such despicable acts there so it doesnt become a norm here.
Just because it happens over here doesnt mean it is "acceptable " over here. The americans glamourise it and our youths sadly copy them. Criticising it from becoming the norm over there and hence influencing out youth here is like plucking weed from the roots.
This is my stand.
Family › Re: America's Hypocrisy-Gay & Incest(american Mom, Son In Love Charged With Incest) by cococandy(f): 11:25pm On Aug 12, 2016
Certainly.

All my life something in me never has agreed to discrimination or unfair treatment of others. If my personal opinion about something is not favorable to it, I don't believe that thing should be judged based on what I feel but on what's fair to everyone involved. I'll keep my personal views on it just that. Personal.

pippimp:
If i understand you correctly, you mean while in Nigeria, your views on gay relationships was amiable? If that is the case, then you are a better person than I. It took some serious reorientation in the true meaning of freedom and rights for me to really understand. This is why i understand how they think because i used to think like that. You must have come from a well groomed environment which affected your mentality. The vast majority of Nigerians, because of societal upbringing and norms have serious issues they are not aware of. I wasn't aware of it till i was exposed to something better.
Family › Re: America's Hypocrisy-Gay & Incest(american Mom, Son In Love Charged With Incest) by cococandy(f): 9:45pm On Aug 12, 2016
Well I've lived in Nigeria all my life. Born and raised until very recently. And I don't agree with the mainstream opinions on many issues. So maybe that's not the problem.

@bold is what really pisses me off. Like we are in some sort of childish competition with other countries (I.e the west). Your house is burning and you're gloating over your neighbor's house with the leaky roof. Pfft. undecided

I know for a fact that western countries do a better job protecting their children than we do. They don't kill them for being witches, marry them off at 11 or send off to labor in exchange for meals and basic education. I've even seen where molested children are blamed for it. With the common saying that children of nowadays are more exposed than before. Thereby implying that it's okay to sleep with underage children because they asked for it. So many appalling things that shouldn't happen to any kid alive happens to kids in Nigeria frequently and someone is here mentioning me over possible legalized pedophilia in the western future. Meanwhile it's already legal in his country.

5mins pls let this be the last time you mention me over this issue. It's annoying honestly.
pippimp:
Believe it or not, i completely understand the way 5minsmadness is thinking because i used to think like that. Nigerians have a level of ignorance and bitterness unparalleled. Back in Nigeria, i thought my way of thinking was normal and everyone else was crazy. I never took the time to consider that if my way was normal and i had other like minded people thinking the same way, then my surroundings would be fine. I mean, i was thinking like a normal human being right? The economy would be fine, people wouldn't be burned in the streets on a daily basis, there wouldn't be trash littering every nook and cranny, policemen wouldn't be standing confidently in public collecting bribe like that was there job, etc. Nigerians don't want to understand that every country has issues and it is the magnitude and frequency of the issues that matters. What also matters is how you manage it as a people. Nigerians don't have a clue what their issues are or how to go about solving them but are quick to point out the perceived fault in others. They are a true example of the saying, "misery likes company". Since they are so depressed and unhappy, they are always on the lookout for the worst news to come of countries like the U.S.A, so they can say "ehen, i talk am. See wetin dem don do too". People like him don't understand that the solution to their problem is exposure. Once they can have access to it, their perception will change. The problem is just how does one get them exposed.

5minsmadness, Meanwhile men have been sleeping with their daughters all over Nigeria. Sometimes caught too and many such news litter this forum.

I haven't seen you mention me to gloat that such a thing is happening. Nay have you even showed any concern? But you're suddenenly excited when it happens in another country continents away from you. What's your obsession with the west.

Family › Re: America's Hypocrisy-Gay & Incest(american Mom, Son In Love Charged With Incest) by cococandy(f): 5:52pm On Aug 12, 2016
Before any denso misunderstands me, this is not to say bad things don't happen in the west. It's plain ridiculous and speaks volumes when citizens of a nation won't focus on what's wrong with theirs and try to fix (even if it's only with words. Yes words work). Instead get off at comparing their issues with other countries. As if to say if it happens there, then it's okay to happen here too.

I know about the unsavory things that go in on parts of India (for example), you won't see me online whining about India when I've my own problems to fix. I don't get it.
Family › Re: America's Hypocrisy-Gay & Incest(american Mom, Son In Love Charged With Incest) by cococandy(f): 5:45pm On Aug 12, 2016
Pls stop mentioning me when you're typing senseless comments.

Instead of worrying about future pedophilia in the west , why not focus on its presence in your own country? Alive and kicking and happening every second.

Crying more than the bereaved. Are we?

I swear most Nigerians are ridiculous. (Including you) Is the focus on the west supposed to relieve you of the bad feelings that come with the horrible things that happen in your own country? Where humans are burned alive on the streets and unprintable things are done by those who have a little power over others. Like girls being stripped and flogged on video by men.

Why are you (and indeed many Nigerians) addicted to masturbating over whatever you perceive to be bad news coming out of 'the west'. When you have a millions of it living with you and you're existing just fine.
It's a trend but I don't know what to call. Like some hidden way to gloat over a country to make you feel better about yours. When you should be doing is working on your own country so that you have genuine reason to feel better about it.

Cc pippimp. See the west bashing thing I was telling you about. This section is like hub of it.

5minsmadness:
We warned u people but u refused to listen. You blindly follow the western agenda because u have been gum-smacked by their good living and money economy, so nothing they can do is wrong. I told cococandy then that pedophilia would soon be next, she said i was dwelling in conspiracy theories. Now a woman and her son have brazenly dared the rules and before you know it this incest case will be politicised. New research will come up to show the benefits or non-harm of incest and anyone not in support of incest will be shamed and called small-minded and accused of not being civilized. There will be marches and protests, sob-stories and victimization. And then incest will be made legal. Next will come bestiality and pedophilia .

This is just the beginning.

Yeah truth is there are good women as much bad women, so i don't really tag all Nigerian women or American women under one category, because i know each person doesn't represent the whole. Just because one person sleeps around means all Nigerian women sleep around, However I have come to notice a similar pattern amongst African men, this might sound insulting but it must be said:

We suffer from what we call "William Lync Syndrome" however this was in a speech i read but i think it was a hoax but the principle prevails, a lot of black men have been pre-conditioned to hate other black-men, you will see Nigerians overseas not wanting anything to do with another Nigerians but will happily throw themselves to welcome a white person. I've seen this times without number, hell i fell victim to it, till self-awareness kicked in, it's a known fact that the black woman is the most disrespect bunch in the world, even in America, They get all the hate from all angles even black men themselves. So when someone says Team foreign women i just shake my head and sigh, Malcom X was right, Black women have it harder than anyone, now am not saying as a black man you are mandated to date a black lady, am just saying we must learn to respect black women, I have dated foreign ladies (just 2) and really one was equally as deceitful as some ladies i would find in Nigeria. You can date any lady you want from any country but i see it stupid when you have to put down your own just to glorify another. I call it Post Slavery Syndrome.

Trust me there are crazy women out there regardless of race, you need to spend time on reddit and also manosphere you will see men from corners of the world narrate their story.

but what do i know ? am just a dude hooked up on weed undecided

If we were already married and he said such, I'll leave him.

See there are things that are inhumane and I'd be frightened to associate with people who support such things. Like jungle justice. I'd never be in the same room with any 'human' being who's ever participated in such activities.

Jungle justice is just an avenue for evil people who haven't been caught in their own misbehavior to unleash their wickedness on those who are unfortunate to have been caught. Especially when it concerns minor things like petty stealing.

It seems peeps missed this part where Op mentioned extra family members come along with MIL

Hi dynamite11, I recently had a similar experience with my younger brother. Apart from our seperate places we stay there is a place where the family stays. Unfortunately he ends up disturbing me (unintentionally though but my work requires full concentration which could hurt me financially if I miss opportunities). When last it happened I had a separate room setup. On day one of my moving in I got in to meet him in front of my PC. That was the last time he entered the room.

Given the space people would take on the free hand given and also try to stretch it. Am sure this attitude of trying not to offend others would be affecting other areas of your life and business as well especially when you can't say no (I was once like that till like a year ago). In your case let wifey know you had to relocate to avoid this situation quietly but considering the issue still persists let her just imagine what your next step to permanently put a stop to this would be. Her own imagination would do the rest and the right set of words to caution MIL would produce themselves.

Cococandy it is a nice thing standing up for your fellow sistas but in this case where the OP had to say "I'm losing my sanity", woman abuse is not playing out here. Advice him, he needs it.

Wishing you well - Teemy

For one they could both be earning and paying for the house together. Don't use your personal life to judge others. Not every wife is dependent. And even if she were the man's income is still the family income. It belongs to both of them. Since the wife most certainly is doing other things to keep the home running. And the man brings in the money. It's a division of labor hence their contributions are equal. You can't chew money. Someone has to manage it and make it into something edible, wearable or livable. The house belongs to both of them. Their relations should apply wisdom and caution when visiting. It shouldn't only apply to her relations.
Stop the one sided hypocrisy.

What's her mother's single motherhood got to do with it? Yea who knows the reason. What if it was the father's fault that they are divorced? But no you can't think of that. All avenues to judge the woman right? undecided

From your comment I guess it's perfectly acceptable for the wife to threat his relations like poo if she's the one making the money? Did you even read your comment before posting it?
luvablesam:
Aunty don't get me wrong o but the reason y most people aren't insulting the OP is simple. ITS HIS HOUSE(He earned every penny he used to build or rent his house) so he can choose to see anyone he wants.

If the situation was a turned one and the woman owns everything do you think she will even let the man talk in that house talkless her mum-inlaw? The reason y most people talk or comment negatively when a Woman complains about their mother in law visits is simple. In most events its her Sons house,(he had all the money before yu married him), she lived already with him or was a constant visitor before you met him. I hope yu catch d drift?. @OP you no dey try at all. Tell her simply that you would love it if she stops her constant visits. If she doesn't put your gateman on the spot.

Prettiepearlz:
Uncle, don't get me wrong too oooooooo, what gave you the impression that the wife didn't give financial support in the building, buying or renting of the house? You make me laugh cheesy I swear. Let's even look at it from your angle, so because her son bought, built or rented the house as the case maybe is now a GOOD reason for a MIL to come and invade her children's privacy thereby inconveniencing the wife right? Please don't get me wrong, a wife shouldn't stop her MIL from visiting her son's house but all I am saying is she shouldn't make it an everyday thing and that's what these women who come here complain about and nairaland guys eat them raw by judging them but now the table is turned and you come up with this? undecided Goodness me! You guys are selfish and manipulative! All you do is think about yourself. Just imagine! A man owns the house, so what happened to a man shall leave his father and mother and join to his wife and they shall become one? undecided . Why una nor tell am to endure? After all, they are one and the house belongs to them both now.

You made a statement about a woman becoming the boss of the house if she was the bread winner, I ask you is it all women? Haven't we seen women who are breadwinners who didn't for one day disrespect her husband (if you haven't seen any, I have). Now I am not saying we don't have some bad eggs amongst us but you lots should stop generalizing things. And lastly, once married, the house no longer belongs to the man, it belongs to both the husband and the WIFE. So stop making it seem like you're doing women favours by marrying them. You're both doing yourselves favours.

I guess weird and obnoxious things are better when done by the man's family.

Prettiepearlz:
At last all powerful master, at least this complain is coming from a man and not a woman. I am surprised at the comments coming from our men, they aren't insulting him but if it's from a woman, this thread would have been filled with insults, now you can see that what's good for the goose is also good for the gander. Nobody wants his or her privacy being invaded. I just hope you guys here will comment this way if it's from a lady, but NO! It's a selfish world! A woman has to bear the pain.

@dynamite11, you know to achieve your aim, you might end up turning into a bad guy but for someone like me, I don't care. Since your wife isn't doing anything tangible about it, you have to put your foot down, you have to face her. Let her know that her presence is bugging you, you need your privacy, you need time to bond with your family and she isn't giving you that with her everyday and unnecessary visits. But if you can't do it, then you have to live with it.
