ADAMUdaCOWBOY:You cannot directly equate stealing with corruption. Stealing is a subset of corruption. Like I said stealing, cheating, bribery, even waywardness. If you say someone is corrupt you have to further define what type of corruption that person is. Did the person steal, did he cheat, nepotism, favouritism and all are all subsets of corruption. We have used the word corruption to describe 90% of the cases of outright theft that we now feel stealing is corruption. People can only describe your country as corrupt because all the subset of corruption happens in Nigeria, that's why the collective name of corruption is used. Like the president asked, if you say someone is corrupt, you will need to further describe what he specifically did which could be nepotism and not stealing or both so how is stealing corruption when other things can be involved. |
thegoodjoehunt3:You are now slowly getting the drift. Thanks for supporting my stand. |
thegoodjoehunt3:You already have a closed mind regardless of any explanation. Did u watch the chat yesterday, the guy just explained that he quoted the former icj and that the man is still alive but all you have heard is that GEJ said stealing is not corruption. I guess, "GEJ said stealing is not corruption" is your story and you are sticking to it! Goodluck! |
Corruption can be something that has gone off the the right way of doing things. That means corruption is a broader description of an anomaly. Cheating, stealing, bribery and even waywardness can be described as being corrupt. The president was only trying to let us understand that the way we pronounce corruption belittles the attribute of crime to the individual without specifying exactly what the person did. The confusion in Nigeria is that once you say someone is corrupt 90% of the time it means stealing, so the president is simply saying let's call it exactly what it is stealing. If I say you have a corrupt mind, does that mean you have stolen something even if you used sexual inuendos to describe something that had no connection with sex. But if I say you are a thief, it is very explicit and everyone would understand you have taken something that does not belong to you without the owner/s permission. |
major466:They will say it is cambridge in mongolia not england. They will sha find another excuse. Buhari felt he had finally escaped the certificate saga as d date was coming near that he would contest only for GEJ to shift the day and now the heart palpitations in the APC continues...... This is not good for their health as between now and march 28th anything or everything can happen, like getting disqualified! |
Odunharry:More like more stability to his feet. He should try and stay on his feet before he will be able to even contemplate taking shots, not to talk of perfectly aimed shots. Happy Birthday sha! |
This write up is a joke. So all I need to do is to go through the walls of a second sch and not necessary pass the examination to qualify to run for the president of Nigeria. Then why do we need any qualifications to be the CBN gov or any other organisation. What will now be the critera to enter the NA, a recommendation letter from a principal that someone MIGHT/MAY pass his Wasc exam, why does the need to take the exams sef when he has already gone thru the four walls of the sch. This will not hold! Buhari should show us his certificate! |
coogar:You are a mad man I swear! |
Does this postponement give any advantage to GEJ? Is it that everyone that has not collected their PVC's are expected to vote for GEJ! Will people who are hell bent on voting Buhari change their minds if the elections are shifted. If the reason for postponement is for the army to concentrate on boko haram, is there an assurance that we will see the end of the group in 6wks time or less. Will the postponement make undecided voters decide? Just a few questions! |

My theory IF buhari wins! The militants will resume hostilities by crippling the oil sector, this will be done between Feb and May 29th when Jonathan will still be president and knowing its over for him he will not be too enthusiastic in fighting/stopping these groups by using the military, afterall if he fights them then he himself becomes a target unless he wants to continue staying in the north which will not be conducive for him also. The Military will be compromised and that is where all hell will break lose. By May 29th if we manage to get there, there would be no crude oil to be lifted and Buhari will attempt to rule without crude oil money. Its a dicey situation let's watch and see. |
Win or lose I forsee a falling out between Tinubu and Buhari? |
I wonder what Osinbajo, a professor of law and a pastor thinks about Buhari's certificate issue. A alleged pejury about his certificate to INEC. Does he really and truly believe Buhari has a certficate? Why has Buhari refused to write to cambridge to remove all doubt. As a law prof and a pastor, does he think he is doing the right thing partnering with someone who has blatantly refused to clear all doubts about his cert and has already started displaying disdain for the law courts by saying "they should go to court and stay there" Supporting someone right in the process of subverting the constitution of the country. Its a pity that any dicrediting of buhari gives advantage to GEJ and vice versa. Naija is a joke. Let's hear what the judge will rule on the 9feb. |
Na wa oo! |
We need to get to a level where more players would have played better than this situation where we can only pick about 3-4 players who played well and the rest just average or dismal. In a real! Barca or Bayern team you haedly pick 1-2players who were not impressive. Am still not convinced about this team. Maybe they need a season to get back to where they ought to be. Good 3points though! |
We win this match, it would be ok by me. But I will continue to say we play too many unnecessary side/back passes. There is no attempt to put these guys under pressure. We are playing at home for christ sake against the bottom team that won us the last time we met. There should be some sought of anger because of the last loss. I don't see that push. 3 - 0 own goal for morgan. |
Shirley07:You reek of stupidity to the highest order if you can't comprehend my position. Bloody phool. |
Descartes:Its almost embarrasing that someone would be blatantly lieing to 170million people and some people, even educated ones will still be supporting and looking for excuses to subvert the constitution. If Buhari wins, he would have lied to the highest office in the land. I blame Jonathan, his style of govt in many aspect has made people so annoyed that even if a dog is brought to challenge him that dog will have a good number of supporters. Am sure Nigerians will not allow this blatant impunity by Buhari slide! |
omolami:Check my ealier posts on this issue. Buhari has never claimed ownership of this result. So he can't be held responsible even when the name on the result is Mohamed Buhari and not Mohammadu Buhari. The only thing that can link Buhari to the result being peddled around is that he quoted an exam number that tallys with this result, but if it is taken to court he may just be able to escape that. Buhari has deliberately kept quiet about the result to distance himself from it but allow gullible supporters to justify the result. Cambridge and Waec have said only Buhari can request for his result, what is he waiting for. If he has a result he must have had a certificate andthats where we are going because Certificate is what we want to see. APC think they can use falsehood to get to the number one seat. |
Buhari mentioned his exam no and it tallied with the released result. Can't that be used to tie him to the released result. |
I sincerely hope this 'nues' is fake. Jonathan might just be the last Nigerian president! |
Talk about counting chickens before they are hatched.. . . . |
hansad:I have been saying this since, there is no where Buhari has claimed ownership of this result. He can deny it in court with proof that the name one the result is Mohamed Buhari and not Mohammadu Buhari. The officer even said the sch is waiting for Buhari to come and verify the result. So he has not verified it and you have released it because "they" asked for it. It is the Hatred for GEJ that is causing all this, people just want change, but don't even want to assess the change they want. |
The funny thing about all this is that Buhari and APC have not actually claimed ownership of this result/document being peddled around as Buhari's certificate. As a presidential candidate if a document is being carried around as your result the onus is on Buhari to clear the air by either confirming it or denying this doc. Buhari said he will apply to his sch for the result, suddenly premium times released a result, buhari has not acknowledged it is his result. So this case goes to court, as it is now Buhari can deny the doc asnot being his with proof that the name on d doc is Mohammed Buhari and not Mohammadu Buhari. He can clear the air by giving permission to cambridge and Waec to release his true result/cert. Unless he has non and wants people to continue arguing till the 14feb to take his chances. Mr integrity? |
The Buhari result being peddled around was actually released by premium times after Buhari said he would apply to his school for his result. Since the result came out through a print media outfit supposedly gotten from the school buhari was supposed to apply to, I have not seen anywhere where Buhari has claimed ownership of the result. As someone vying to be the president of this country, he needs to hold that result and tell the nation that it is his result, except the result is fake and Buhari does not want to associate himself with it but ride out the time till the election and take his chances. How he thinks he can wish this away is beyond me. Why it was premium times that released the result to the public and not Buhari is also very suspicious especially as Buhari has not still confirmed or deny it. Now cambridge and WAEC have said only buhari can ask for his true and certfied copy from them, where did the sch get the result they published? Agreed that as a sch they can request for the result of a certain year of graduating students but in this case there are still doubts and as it stands now Buhari has the opportunity to silence everybody. Those thinking its a strategy and would be released about 72:rs to election are only confirming that Buhari and the APC will take us the citizens for granted if they eventually get to Aso Rock. I don't think anyone would cast aspersions on my certificate and I would not do everything quickly to squash that thought. |
badaru1:you must be a retardedd dingbat if the typos is what you only see! |
buhari had a press conference where he attempted to clear the air surrounding his certificate and at the end said his result would be released by the school. i have no problem with that. suddenly we saw a result from premium times claiming the school has released the result. I believe if the school is releasing the result, it should have been released to Buhari who would have come out to say the school has released the result and present it to the public. As it is now, nobody can tie this result to Buhari, because Buhari has not come out to say this released result is his. if for whatever reason this result is a fake, nobody an hold buhari. There is somethings fundamentally wrong with that result as many people have pointed out andthey ned to be clarified. Its a shame the people bring out pix of Buhari in school to justify claims of him haven done an exam. i have a friend who attended classes with me in unilag up to final year and for some reason did not graduate with us, i have pix taken with him which can never proof that he was a graduate of unilag. Has he presented it to INEC? This is not even a certificate, but will go a long way to prove he actually sat for that exam if the result being peddled around the blogosphere is actually his. it would put doubters to rest. |

Does Buhari even know the consequences of swearing an affidavit based on assumptions. For something as important as that and the fact that the INEC forms indicated that he had to submit copies, how come he couldn't go to the supposed military board to assist in get a CTC to attach to the form. Swearing an affidavit entails facts that are easily verifiable. Perjury!! It takes more lies to cover up a single lie! Because of all that has happen, if and when the sch produces a result for Buhari, it will go under serious scrutiny because a lot of people now feel he has no result and all these gimmick is just to waste everybody's time. If the certificate suffaces today and it is verified, all opposition will be quiet. That's what is expected. I hope this does not snowball into something else in this country! |
parrotibaba:I swear, you just summarized exactly how I feel. We are not playing like a Manchester United. We played like a pub club. If Bayern, Real, Barca, Ath Madrid catch us the only thing that would save us is that we would continually be passing the ball backwards to de gea for him to boot forward to make the scoreline fair! Very unadventurous and tepid play. Its annoying. 3points but I aint impressed. Everybody played rubbish especially LVG sitting down there like a pleb when players are contented with passing the ball backwards and sideways with that his useless 352 formation. Nonsense! |
