Well, for one thing, you could make new members wait for a certain amount of time before they can actually post comments. Another useful tool would be to allow individual users to block comments from certain others - this reduces the incentive for notorious trolls to spout their usual nonsense, as they know most of their intended targets will never actually see what they write.

The only thing insisting on phone-numbers or other personally-idenfiable information would achieve would be to kill this site in one blow, by driving away anyone who cares about privacy.
Weak. The person capping nonsense is undeniably Gbawe of old and he knows what ID based registration means for bullies like himself.
When those afraid of ID run away others not afraid of it will draw nearer. What attracts neutral guest here is good content from search engines and not stupid epistle of partisans. I implore Seun to ignore this one who once called pastors Mafia. He is now a minister and cannot do anything meaningful with his position other than being celebrated as a local champion in uvwie.

Are you Okay at all?
Why are you trying to divert attention on Serious issues, and did they tell you that same 6-months awards of 4- years Certificates was happening in the Nigerian Institutions? I never read that!
Since you are now the Speaker for all the Institutions in Contonou, Benin-Republic,Togo,etc,so Nigeria should not arrest the Matters head on,abi?
Instead of you to address the Solutions to the Authority, you are just not doing that! So we should continue to Patronise them, abi?
so so clownish. A lesser evil in Benin republic is draining your energy but Nigetial LASU deserves to be ignored gecuse it is one of ours right?
When it happened in LASU it was a racket, but in Benin republic, it is a tradition that justifies calling all schools across west Africa mushroom by the news article. Mad fool everywhere.

I said it before and I was right. But I have got time to entertain myself before I educate you.

Was Ecole Superieure de Gestion et de Technologies, ESGT, Cotonou, Benin Republic (the subject of this thread) in the list, yes or no?

Don't give me any stories, just give me a yes or no answer.
mental cases are easily entertained so no surprises.

If you can rush to join voices with a report calling schools dotted across west Africa mushroom because they awarded a degree in six weeks in some schools but haven't noticed DSS bursted LASU pants down giving same type of certificate in less than 6 weeks then stark naked men in Lagos need to pray for you before you are promoted to meet normal folk offering prayers.

Now actually try and click the links in the post below. Maybe you'll learn something new.
Someone asked if LASU was featured in your wuru wuru FP list? I am watching.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) waged war against these Benenoise universities from the mid-2000s till the late 2010s, especially when Julius Okojie was executive secretary. The produced a list of banned universities and sent it to the NYSC, all professional bodies and all universities. I don't know why their efforts waned.

There was a time that the lists regularly made Nairaland's home page.

Your Certificate Is Useless If You Attended Any Of These Universities says NUC
https://www.nairaland.com/5103579/certificate-useless-attended-these-universities

NYSC Discriminates Against Benin Republic Trained Graduates
https://www.nairaland.com/5323208/nysc-discriminates-against-benin-republic

NUC Blacklists 57 Universities As ‘illegal’ (SEE LIST)
https://www.nairaland.com/2557460/nuc-blacklists-57-universities-illegal
and where is the list for Nigerian schools selling certificate on cash n carry basis?
Our corruption is carefully interwoven with a stinkingly irritating hypocrisy. LASU was bursted just few weeks ago but there is no Nigerian list on any useless front page.

If you know you are the poorest amongst yoursiblings or you aren't doing well financially, l recommend that you avoid family occasions or gatherings until you have money. If you must attend, kindly sit at a corner like a visitor.
Let the people that are serving the food and souvenir serve you like one of the guests, so you don't end up embarrassing yourself.
Do not go close to where the food and drinks are being served, sit at a corner and observe. Stop setting yourself up for insults.

What about cases where the poorest is actually a victim of witchcraft? A case where he or she is the sacrificial one on witchcraft altar. The one whose glory was used to appeal forces so the others can have seeds and continue the legacy of the so-called family name?

Actually, tribal bigots don't bring traffic. The less toxic a platform is, the more traffic it will attract. That's why I had no financial concerns whatsoever about banning the crap out of tribal bigots on Nairaland. But the supermods didn't cooperate, so I had to do a lot of it myself. Once I got tired and left it to them, that was the end. If you ask them they will insist that they are doing the job, but the data says otherwise.
Tribal bigots generate low quality traffic that's largely by few accounts and doesn't add to valuable contents to the forum.

Instead of trying to match the tenacity of bigots probably on cocaine, I suggest you introduce NIN, Telephone, and SM IDs into registration and only allow highly compliant account post freely(above 10 or 20 a day), let others have limited posts per day. That way you can match content volume being churned out.

Using ML/AI to identify bigots is another way.

AI/ML too can checkmate the free advertisers who upload more MB than paid advertisers to further sanitize your baby.

Last last, Nairaland need more sections associated to professions and vocations. Technicians, Engineering, Pastries, DIYs, How To, Repairs, Make Up, Exports, Import, 3D etc. They can be tags too.

Our currency is falling because we have a largely unproductive human capital. We should be deliberately devaluing our currency to gain competitive advantage if things were right.
We spend naira, but everytime the value falls, the price of everything goes up. You don't need an expert to tell you our economy is over dependent on importation.
We have food shortage, yes, but how's the strength of our currency suppose to help on that if you're not thinking about importing it?
A nation that can not feed herself, and you want a strong currency? Dey play.
I disagree. It is a combination of factors. Low productivity is one but printing and circulating excess money "carelessly" is another major factor.

It takes either serious incompetence or outright malice for a "journalist" to take a fact which is essentially good news - Nigeria's farmers are now competitive in the international marketplace - and spin it as a negative development. To all those claiming that this is somehow a "terrible" thing (and blaming Tinubu for it), what happened to all of your usual moaning about Nigeria needing to develop an export-led economy? Now Nigerian farmers are exporting more, and still you complain!
It all depends on what is causing the Naira devaluation. I put that down to excess money in circulation. The journalist is right to interpret it negatively even though it has some advantages. There is no guaranty govt will not print and circulate more money while leaving Nigerians workers pay stagnant. That will drive Naira value down and further strengthen foreign buyers against local buyers of food.
It is a matter of cause and effect cycle being properly separated and put into context

No. It is not held by any demonic forces...and I beg you, stop making Lucifer Asmodeus look more powerful than he really is.

The simple reason why we do not have enough power is that the government controls pricing in the power sector, to the point where they cannot make enough profit to pay for improvements (and the subsides don't cover the cost), also, 30-40% of Nigerians steal power.

No money, no improvement.
if govt doesn't control pricing, a kWh will be like N10,000 by now and not the more realistic global rates. Cement example is there. If not for NNPC being involved in petrol, maybe a litre will be N1500 now.

Competition gets circumvented in Nigeria more often than not.

The GSM sector was totally unbundled. Then government handed off patapata they only started monitoring the sector. If obasanjo didn't unbundle it and did the type of yeye one the Jonathan administration did,it would have been a case of network outage for hours or days like it happens currently with Electricity.

Government should hands off
Generation
Distribution
Transmission

Completely
And electricity will sell for N10,000/kWh. Cement example is there to learn from. Even competution in commodity value chain with hundreds of merchants get circumvented by unionizing actors. Is it a handful of discos whose market do not overlap that you expect not to secretly unionize and fix prices?

God bless Tinubu.
Embracing higher production no longer crosses the mind of Nigerians(majority). They prefer witchcraft economics of chasing money with little production/output.

The foreigners are rushing in because the naira is weaker compared to their local currencies.
