Politics › Re: Tinubu's Revenue Advisor: Tinubu's Economic Plan Is To Tax Consumption, Not Prod by CodeTemplar: 2:55pm On Jul 12, 2023
Exactly. He taxes revenue and not profit.
A jobless person surviving on handouts is taxed going by how Tinubu taxes. That's wrong. Only profits or increase should be taxed. It is like paying tithe on money that touches your hands but not on what comes to you anew. Witchcraft economics.
Politics › Re: Nigeria’s External Debt Stock Hits $42,671.70 Million by CodeTemplar: 2:46pm On Jul 12, 2023
About $600 per adult citizen.

Any palliative less than that is a scam because they took that amount in loans after mismanaging oyel money.

When I tell people that population is one of our biggest problem, people will be looking for excuses

In 1960 Nigeria population was 45million, that same year UK population was 52 million

2023 Nigeria population is above 220 million , that same UK is just above 65 million..

How are we going to live a better life when we are not even productive like the UK..
India and China disproves that. It is productivity level that determines poverty level. If 200m people are just justling for oil proceeds, as they grow in number, poverty increases. If they are productive, supply increases progressively with demand and poverty is kept in check.
Politics › Re: Nigeria’s VAT Performance Is Lowest In West Africa – FG by CodeTemplar: 11:00am On Jul 12, 2023
Because there is little or no value addition within the system. We just share oil proceeds.

Travel › Re: Rivers State Unveils Fuel Subsidy Intervention Buses by CodeTemplar: 9:21am On Jul 12, 2023
For a state like Rivers, anything less than 500 of these buses is a joke.

With their population, demographics, and pocket. 500 of these and a thousand of the smaller 18-seaters should be their minimum target.

Selling fuel at 5k won't stopped fuel struggling, strugglers have their own local refineries... The availability of buyers is what matters to them, it doesn't matter if they sell N100 naira per litter to their customers.... They'll still make their gains, they got the fuel for free and refined it locally.
illegal refiners don't have the sophistry to get petrol out of crude yet. It is diesel they get mostly. BBC
Politics › Re: A Country Slightly Bigger Than Texas Is Projected To Match The Us's Population B by CodeTemplar:
Population without productiveness is the root of widespread poverty.
No wonder the Bible says be fruitful(productive) and multiply. Productiveness sustains multiplication and multiplication drives productiveness when God's presence is retained.

Despite Banning AbokiFx, their App is still in use by the Aboki's. That's what they use. CBN only made them stop using the website. But the APPs still continues to function and almost all the ABOKIs have it on their Android phones.

Before they make any transaction, they either make a CALL or they check the App.

Government think they could easily control certain things
AbokiFX reports what's happening and does not not dictate what happens really. It is greedy exchangers that are using AbokiFX to maximize their greed.

Foolish decision to collapse rate without discouraging some demands for foreign goods with local production boost or heavier import tax. The man was after indices and not real improvements.

This is for all those who used to claim fuel subsidy is bad and only benefits the rich.
Fuel subsidy was a very impacting subsidy and the only one where you enjoy according to usage level. Those agents saying it benefitted the rich alone have all disappeared or operating new user accounts.

Politics › Re: Fuel Smuggling Persists In Borders Despite Subsidy Removal – Customs Boss by CodeTemplar:
I knew something was still on but couldn't tell it. That 28% drop doesn't correlate with the level of inflation of petrol import we heard about before subsidy removal.
As long as prices are lower here, smuggling will abound.

As it stands now, marketers will want to increase prices to be at par with Benin, Cameroun and Niger.

ArcFresky:
It's economics, stupid.

Buhari was taking loans to support the naira.
So was Goodluck.

Interms of economics, Goodluck was the worst.

Goodluck was borrowing when Crude oil, our main source of income was selling at $120\ barrel.

All the economics they practiced were unsustainable. For God's sake, we were borrowing to pay salary, borrowing to subsidize fuel?

Obi, the proposed messiah, doesn't even export. His main business is based on importing.

I know this economics pass your assimilation levels, but try to reason. This is now a market economy, what I would expect Tinubu to do, is to support the poorest.

Now, people will find cheaper alternative to imported goods, it's better to export now, than to import, it's our preference for imported goods that's killing the economy.

What would Obi even have done differently?
Borrow more?
Stop defending a calamity in human package. Collapsing exchange rates now means Brazilian hair importers and essential import compete for same dollar at level playing field. Witchcraft economics.
The man there can't man up to rent seekers like agberos and bandits but want to tax the hell out of Nigerians.
