BroOptimist: We Muslims don't say and will NEVER call Jesus( Peace be upon Him), son of God. We believe him to be one of the greatest prophets and messengers of God, but not son of God. Even in the Bible, there are so many places where Jesus himself has referred to himself as servant of God, we believe in his message hood, prophet hood. is NOT son of God, because God begets not neither is He begotten( Lam Yahlid wallam yulad). If you need biblical proofs or evidence from the Bible to buttress my points, kindly quote me with respect, then I will give them to you.
Peace. Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Please juxtapose the above scripture with what you have there in your comment and make adjustments. |

Virginnn: So if I do not write or say peace be upon him, Muhammad will not have peace where he is? Even now, there are several ways of spelling the name of the founder of Islam. some spell it Mohammed, Mohammet, Muhammad or Muhammadu. Why can't Muslims decide one on one universal spelling? Osusu religion. They have to donate peace to him same way they donate respect and reverence to him. A religion 100% sustained by men and with no proven religious angle to it. A religion that prioritize reverence for the dead more than the living but sleeping. More like a tradition mixed with other traditions. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Bishop Oyedepo: It's Wrong To Allow People In Market And Not In Church by CodeTemplar: 9:43am On May 07, 2020 |
emmasege: There are alternatives to 'church gathering' as individuals can still meet at family or house fellowship level. But there is no alternative to going to market. People must feed.
Abi Bishop will feed his flock (tens of thousands) with physical food after feeding them with spiritual food? Jesus did it, Bishop should also do it.
Bishop Oyedepo should announce free lunch for all worshippers on Sunday with an additional #5000 pocket money for indingent worshippers every Sunday.
And let no pastor sermonise worshippers to give. The giving should be voluntary and the poor should not be made to feel as if they sinned by not giving or that they are blocking their source of blessings by not paying tithe.
The gospel has gone beyond the elementary doctrines of tithing, giving and prosperity. How will mostly N50 tithe and offering grow into over N5000? You too can grab one tuber of cocoa yam or loaf of bread and multiply it because Jesus say we all will do greater works and not just apostles or pastors. |

If a state is testing more people, a large number of new cases is not so alarming. If a state tested almost nobody, a low number is not reassuring. We rig everything in Africa. |

claremont: Excellent and refreshing thread here.
In my opinion, I think most people in the diaspora have a misconception on what the definition of ''home'' is. My ''home'' isn't where I was born and raised (Nigeria), but rather, it is where I can live a good life, raise a family and have peace of mind with the knowledge that every penny of tax I pay is being used for what I pay it for. Nigeria is where I was born and raised, the UK is my adopted ''home'' and where I would be buried.
A ''home'' shouldn't necessarily be the country of your birth, it should be the place where you and your family are currently comfortable and living a good life. We live in a global village. I'm Nigerian by birth, British by passport, Kenyan by marriage.
On a side note, this thread shouldn't be moved to front page. It will get invaded by dodgy characters from politics section etc. √ √ √ √ √ [100%] |

Well, papa has his points. Market is still a place to trade things for physical nourishment and not all men have faith. To me the church is a place of spiritual nourishment and should be permitted to open partially.
It is just like police or army and farmers. We need the coordinating input of the police but cannot neglect. |
