Politics › Re: COVID-19 - What Financial Provisions Are Fg Making For Her Citizens? by CodeTemplar: 11:32am On Mar 24, 2020
The best govt can do is release cheap or free fuel for us to run generators and pumps water, suspend rents, release foods if any in grain reserve(heard they exist), buy drugs etc.

Even if govt should release money, with no national record of who is and who isn't a citizen, it will only attract hungry immigrants from as far as Somalia and Timbuktu.

That's why I laugh when folks peddle the demonic idea of Nigeria being a wealthy nation.

We live hand to mouth, locally and nationally. Reserve is a textbook concept of western education proponents to us. All the UN push for well spaced accommodation is luxury talk. Food security talk is policy exigency. Education is a status booster and nothing more. Religion is a social gathering and cult system.

We don't take anything serious here in Nigeria. We just get emotional about development and never logical or realistic about it.

grin thunder will strike you..

So your God ran away only for you to give him the credit abi?..

Any bad thing that happened you guys blamed it on devil and say it's God's will. But any good thing that happened you guy's will say it's God's power and Grace.

Lmao mumu people
I am sorry for u.
You don't provoke into action with blackmail but by faith.
You can force a man to bless you by doubting his ability to be a blessing but that reverse psychology stunt doesn't move God. Only faith does. For it is impossible for man to please God without faith.
Doubt God and blame him all you want, it changes nothing, instead go to him as you papa, repent, accept the reality of his sent son, the saviour - Jesus, and stand a real chance of visitation. God is not a Lagos big man you hail until he drops something or some teenager suffering from peer pressure you can doubt his ability in order to make him prove himself.

Flashback: 'How Can Nigeria Help Britain?'

Flashback to a time when Nigeria was so amazing, Great Britain turned to us for help. This story seems to have almost disappeared from the annals of time. If this story of old glory is retold, maybe a generation will be inspired to wake up the sleeping “Giant of Africa.”

Source: https://www.facebook.com/rdfstrategies/ 22 March 2019 .
That's second word war now. That's a whole different ball game. Our own is that of a man who ate with all ten fingers, refused to reinvest or plants his seed, corrupt, and careless. Same Britain you helped then is far far above you in terms of development. The have good hospitals, testkits, drug supply, water, spaced accommodation, good transportation system, education system. internet to work from home. What do you have today? Worthless Oyel.

The first lady is suffering from the isolation that comes with such privileged position as that of first ladies.
Any attempt at doing copy and paste of policies will backfire spectacularly here. Let's consider out uniqueness and be honest as we make policies.
How many people can successfully eke a living from the homes?
How many?

This is what UN has been shouting with their many programs. Urban planning, spacing, water security, food security, educational standards etc.

These people ruling us a curse to us. I am sorry to say.
Sad enough, the congested but more educated southern Nigeria is more exposed on this one. They depend more on day to day interaction for their meal ticket and are less adapted to the rural lifestyle.
Politics › Re: Why Coronavirus May Be Deadlier In Nigeria: A Housing Perspective by CodeTemplar: 10:10am On Mar 23, 2020
This is why I laugh when folks start saying Nigeria is more developed than some 'chingily' African countries. Development goes beyond a big national budget, or unplanned urbanisation. We just build house anyhow and assume development of building equates to national development. Just Google "COVID-19 testing" and read how truly developed nations are handling the plague.

We live hand-to-mouth here and all those copy and paste policies of work at home or isolation are just too limited in effectiveness for us.

This is a sad development. They caused havoc saying their lifestyle involves roaming and herding but the moment they say free land and amenities, they agreed to go against their culture and tradition which they have used as excuse in ending many lives.

You dont get the point. They do not need CAN or government to give them any directive to do the right thing. At the end of the day it boils down to greed.

You guys still think this thing is a joke because it has not struck home yet. When the casualties start dying, nobody go tell you to stay inside your house.

793 dead in Italy in one day.
I can see why Oyedepo may be tempted to say what he said.
In our nation and Africa generally, we live hand to mouth, and anything that stops people from going out to get their daily bread is another plague in disquise. If the govt can rally food reserve like some developed nations do them it would go a long way, but telling a cab driver or tomato seller to not feed is another plague.
Christianity Etc › Re: Coronavirus: Oyedepo Attacks Govt Over Closure Of Schools, Malls by CodeTemplar: 8:17pm On Mar 22, 2020
While I favour the idea of remaining at home over the idea of avoidable movements, I think we are ignoring a key aspect of the plague. That's the testing aspect. Test kit in good quantity and cheap rate is needed to help isolate those infected. This is what development is all about. The robustness of society to respond to shock situations with a good balance and not our mansion development we like to boast about.
UK for example is delivering testkits to people and helping to speedily isolate them.

God bless you Mr Jack!
We don't have be ungrateful to the point of hate. The man doesn't owe Africa a dime but has given back and instead of applauding a commendable gesture here you are talking about what he has gained from Africa as if he gained it at gun point.
Your politicians you worship that steal you dry, how many have donated from what they stole from you? They wouldn't, and you can't do jack about it so applaud the generosity of Jack Ma and stop being ungrateful.

eduman365:
Well I am not in support of any institution breaking the law on religious grounds, but I think the focus is on churches alone and not mosques... While this is for everyone's safety and health, the government is fond of picking on churches cos of their non-violent approach towards religion and they ignore mosques as if they do not exist.

They've been doing this even in the case of noise pollution. A mosque can wake everyone in a community up at 5 am but a church will be sealed for using loudspeakers....
So true. They block roads paid for all and no one challenges them. They infiltrate govt and build mosques with taxpayers Commonwealth and no one challenges, so what do you expect for Coronavirus or COVID-19 ?

We pray it doesn't get to that but I think we should all start planning for an extended time with restriction of movement.
If this plague persists, the rural areas are one step ahead. They depend less on interpersonal interactions for the basic survival needs.
A yam farmer with his yam barn, some firewood, a well for water, chewing sticks, black soaps, and his gallon of red oil is more assured of less contact for daily survival.
Can we say that for a city hustler whose reserve can only go few days?
He needs to go out drive Keke, watch and wash people's car, photocopy peoples doc, cook peoples food and serve it to survive. Restriction of movement in urban areas will be harsh on people o.

The best role the church will play is to keep being the church. However the OP idea isn't as radical as some people take it to be.

Govt is suppose to shoulder such kind of responsibility but we all know what govt in this part of the world is like. Buhari should wake up and stop his Aso Rock vacation he calls tenure. Baba must have missed his presidential jet due to travel restrictions.

How does land size add or take away from the quality of a school for God's sake?
Land is just an asset passed on to the schools by the federal govt. It has no impact on quality of knowledge imparted, advancement of body of knowledge or dissemination of knowledge. These are are the core three pillars of university education and I wonder what landmass can do for or against these three pillars. Roadside rankings.

The state govt sch are generally higher in fees that Fed schs because they lack fund to deeply subsidize it. Best approach is to go there and pay the fees in. Most fees are nonrefundable so your bros can't withdraw it. Highest is they eat your money.
Education › Re: Seven Things You Should Know About Nigerian University Lecturers by CodeTemplar: 12:56am On Mar 15, 2020
sinkhole:
1. Nigerian Lecturers rank among the best trained but worst paid globally. From the UK to the US, Australia to China, South Africa to Ghana, Nigeria-born lecturers dominate many fields of study. “Brain drain” has been used appropriately to describe this scenario.
A good percentage of lecturers practicing in Nigeria do get mouth-watering offers to relocate abroad, but they reject such offers and remain at home out of patriotism and service to their fatherland.

See marketing. True but rare.

I suspect all these are in reaction to IPPIS. They bow see need to promote their peculiarities in advance and as a reaction to fraud-checking IPPIS alone. Good ground laying.
