HigherEd:
Hey Donald what about .com. Is .com OK for a website with a focus for Nigerian customers?
.com is very OK. .ng is just an extension within .com .
.com.ng is there to help create new possibilities in terms of domain names. Just like company names. there can be a jumia worldwide with jumia.com domain name and there can be a jumia Nigeria which has a . Going back to your question, .com for a Nigerian site is equally as good as .com.ng but it doesn't hint a novice looking at the site name it could be associated with Nigeria.
Nairaland is a cold example. It has .com domain but focuses on Nigeria.

Why can't Muslims the BH guys are protecting condemn or commend the kidnap of Leah openly. It is either in line with or against their religion so let them take a stance.

theoldpretender:
It is a good development, but the problem is...

Personally speaking, I don't like this at all. This is how we have been running our economy since independence, and why our economy is forever vulnerable. We keep on exporting primary products...which are processed abroad for higher profits and end up benefiting foreign economies.

(Like now, we export crude...which is processed into all sorts of products, including PMS, and then we import the same PMS...at higher cost mind....and then we pay 'subsidy' on it. And we have been doing that for years. God help us.).

If we could at least be experting stuff like processed products from oil...eg plastics, etc...we could be quite proseprous.

And we are still importing refined petroleum products....and we exepct prices of PMS to remain low. We better be more realistic...we cannot be importing refined products, and selling them at lower prices than we import them for. Or else we are going to keep on having fuel scarcity whether we like it or not...unless we deregulate fully.
Thank you.

Some people now take religion as a cult.

They seek protection outside Gods plan with it.
They act like Christians and other nonbelievers are after them.
They say change of faith is punishable by death.
They want to dominate others physically.
They use violence. They use drugs.
They permit unholy sex.
They glory in worldly things.
They can kill for their god when it is suppose to be their god killing for them.

JARUSHUB:
JARUSHUB’S TAKE

No Nigerian university in the most popular universities’ and well-balanced across various fields ranking indicator globally*. South Africa and Egypt with the exception of Kenya have proved that they are the undisputed bastions of higher education on the continent. The first eight are in the top 801+ and are relatively cheaper than most of the unranked schools some Nigerians enrol to obtain “quality” education. What does this mean? It is better to enrol at a top ranked institution that is more affordable than an unranked or lowly ranked university that is expensive.

What more? South Africa made the JarusHub’s list of 6 countries that offer top class education at affordable rates and less immigration hassles

*: The ARWU favours scientific disciplines than humanities or commercial disciplines. Also, one of the methodology in the ARWU is the number of Nobel prizes & Fields' Medals her staff has won.
I will like to know some of those relatively cheaper schools that have better ranking than more expensive ones. Also of interest is some of those operated African Unis if you don't mind.

Handsomecole:
@ OP I didn't bother reading your all your epistle . I only have one question for you.

How much is your school fees as compared to how much your federal University counterparts pay??

The answer will put to rest all these you have put up, you don't have to struggle or kill yourself with researching just to proove that your school is better than OAU and other Universities.

With all you have written even your "headmaster" am sorry I mean VC knows that your lesson or university as you call it can never stand OAU Great IFE in anything I mean anything. Even as it stand we have "whites" flocking down to OAU as students and even as lecturers. So don't kill yasef. What is Great is already Great!!
Are u aware the average federal uni gets N12bn annually. That translates to N430k per student per year for schools like UI. Keep bragging with your taxpayers subsidized certificate there.

Pseudocodes are normal language summary like English that breaks bigger task into smaller and logical steps to help accomplish the big task.

I'm stuck again!
it's really hard making decisions as a beginner.
i want to make a quiz app, which technology should i learn JAVAFX,SWING OR ANDROID?
Master things like for loop, while, do...while, switch, String manipulation, Object creation and instantiation, pseudo codes, then do some exercise. Jumping into your project like that is more like a newbie who wants to learn driving by hitting the steering wheel on a highway or busy road. is like a pilot flying a plane for the first time without an instructor.

Study for at-least a week then come back and I will assist you with a small pseudo code to guide you through a console based quiz app.
Have u gotten the book Java How To Program yet? It teaches things like array, random numbers that will be useful for a quiz app.

On the contrary.. it shows the child is low grade minded. If the school she could get admitted into had the best graduating student finishing with a CGPA of less that 4; a weak Second Class Upper.. need i say more?
What a paradox!
If she had grad in a public uni with that grade, i am sure she would be hailed as being better than a first class private uni. Well, in case u don't know some schools use 4.00 cgpa system where first class is 3.5.

Gerrard59:
Lol. I actually finished from a public university.
Had the opportunity to go to Covenant (parents were ready to sponsor). Declined it due to its religious rules (I'm quite irreligious).

Today, I kinda of regret it. It's not like I'd have broken any of the rules (I've an impeccable record in conduct), but I didn't see why I should be forced to obey rules because they are religious inclined. I prefer rules to be secular.

However, I have done my research and come to understand where private universities (the pacesetters) are going and comparing it to the Nigerian society. I can only see them going higher and becoming better. It'd take time, but just like it took time for public primary and secondary schools to fall in standards and private schools taking over, so will it in the higher education sector.

Nothing will stop it because good governance and the Nigerian society are parallel lines.

On behalf of the Nairaland Association Of Advocates Of Private Universities(NAAPU) whose Chairman, Board of Directors is OBVIOUSLY CodeTemplar with HigherEd as Our Company Secretary and TheVictorious asuustrike2009 and Gerrard59 as executive directors we hereby state clearly that the report of the Minister's child graduating from AUN is a welcome development.

This is an endorsement of the private higher education system and proof that our haters couldn't be more wrong in attributing our desire for private education as product of our inability to enter Public Universities.

Henceforth, any attempt to denigrate and assassinate the character of individuals who attended private universities would be met with a proportional offensive e-response.

On a second thought I think it is safer not to approve tetfund for private unis. If govt should av a stake in private unis then the goal of schools like cu, lu to impart christian values gets jeopardized.
