Jarus: When some of us called attention to the fact that this team is at best average earlier on this thread, Safarigirl and Tbaba almost skinned us alive. I hope we have all seen it.
I keep seeing another 2002 WC outing for Nigeria
1 point in 3 matches. I pray I'm wrong.
One thing I have learnt about pre-tournament friendlies is that coaches use them to test players. In '98 holland beat eagles 5-1 in a friendly but eagles went ahead to stun the world by beating spain and bulgaria. Our collapse against Denmark was due to financial issues, lack of focus and bad prep. Friendlies can be tricky.
Gaddafithe2nd: You should have used your energy against WAEC and JAMB. The two institutions have been conducting exams in Arabic studies for years. You guys should deal with it. Arabic is among the 5 recognised language in Nigeria. Go and learn it. Your fellow Christians in Europe and America are learning Arabic. The world is going global, languages is the hotcake in the world just like ICT. LOL...
English and French is our lingua franca. Arabic is being snuck in. Even the people promoting it can't speak pure arabic.
brodalokie: I went to African Church Grammar School in Ibadan and we sang and prayed in Arabic on Friday assembly but that never affected my Christian devotion and background. I don't know but I think it may be another means for fellowship as a nation but the situation in Nigeria is too serious
NaijaCelebNews: Rapper Sinzu who just got released from Jail a month ago claims that all the celebrities showing him love now were no where to be found when he was fighting his cases in court and when he was in Prison. The rapper who was released from federal prison in America last month was giving a hero's welcome on twitter by Nigerian musicians when he got released. Everyone from Wizkid to Davido to Ycee tweeted to celebrate his return. Davido even went on to sign him to his label. However Sinzu has acknowledge that although he would have appreciated the support of all these celebrities, he realizes that they did not send him to do the crimes that he did and therefore they had no obligation to support him and because of this he bears no grudges. What do you think? Do you Think the celebrities showing Sinzu support now are fake or do you think he did not deserve the support in the first place.
HigherEd: Words of wisdom. University administrators and the politicians who built the universities and caused the rot flee the unis with speed. Same with the registrar of Delsu. He enrolled his child in CU away from the rot they allowed prevailed in state universities...
Normally, a person leaving UI to study in Babcock should be like a case of someone who works at Oxford uni but is applying to University Of Lancaster. It shouldn't make any sense but unfortunately it is already making sense.
Don't blame these guys. They are the few good eggs in those system. The average UI staff prefers UI for their wards.
ipledge01: Wait, are you kidding me? So you want them to keep your money at the same time pay you interest after the agreed period? How do you want the company to succeed?
Ire2: Watch and see bro. Those guys will abscond with people's money. Which kind unless piggy bank be that. You will soon here. Save with us and get 30% every month additional then after like one year piggy bank go crash. . Na that time una go know say e Don b.
HigherEd: Reason why I have objected to the unilateral secession of any southern state. Our almost equal population is our saving grace in Nigeria. If by chance the east or south south leaves Nigeria. That shake in population balance would spell doom for whatever non Muslims are left in the nation.
Unfortunately most Christians are so called progressives and it would be too late to even push back the Islamic agenda when they eventually wake up... Islam has no other pathway to proliferation except it cojoins herself with politics/governance. Which means govt got to build the mosques, fund the hajj, create shariah law, create Islamic police etc.
HigherEd: Nigeria was well on a path to islamization until Christians woke up. Visited LASUTH today and was asking why a Bola Ahmed Diagnostic center was doing inside a state govt property. Then became more incensed on seeing a gigantic mosque within the premises. If this were zamfara I would understand. But a multicultural states with a well diversed religious population These are some of the BS some of us would still revisit getting into govt. If Muslims want an islamized hospital then they should build one personally like the catholics did and stop making seem like they are first class citizens...
I know muslims will soon jump on this thread and start attacking the person of Oyedepo for being wealthy. Same muslims who have kept quiet about Boko Haram who are increasing the number of Christian widows. The subtle attempt to incite Christians against their spiritual leaders is seen clearly.
HigherEd: "The inclusion of Arabic Studies in the recent Nigeria Police Force NPF recruitment Test is highly unacceptable. Some forces just want to score political marks by trying to impress the president and divide us as a people. This administration and all agents that want to divide us should be seriously warned as it is too late to turn Nigeria into an Islamic State. We therefore reject the NPF recruitment Test and ask for it to be re-written without the inclusion of Arabic Studies in it."----------Bishop David Oyedepo, President of Living Faith Church Worldwide

Are u aware hisbah (sharia police) in Zamfara has been given the power to arrest and search anywhere or anybody they suspect of 'anti-sharia' activity ? These folks favour the strengthening of any institution they can dominate and use to serve their interest.
It appears a good move to discourage spendings on addictive substance that can reduce productivity but i think the extra income from these substances should be invested into reabilitating people instead of sharing it into the system and hands of people who don't believe in it.
What! You mean he went to Babcock instead of UI or he bagged a honorary Doctorate?
HigherEd: JOY AS UI BURSAR, MICHAEL ALATISE BAGS Ph.D Henceforth, the University of Ibadan Bursar, Michael Alatise should be addressed as Dr. Michael Alatise as he today bagged Doctorate Degree in Accounting from Babcock University.
How is one even sure the rising killings of Christians and public pressure on pastors to do more charity aren't part of a ploy to turn Christians against their leaders ? The ECWA is right here. More ophans now exist.
fasterwell: There is this saying that when u allies are quarelling, that is when the truth will come out.
OBJ is the number one enemy of Nigeria. Is he the only ex president in Nigeria? OBJ was a lawless president who refused to accept advise from anyone due to his selfish ambition. OBJ dealt with Atiku to the point that Atiku had to spend his own money to run vp office.
I can still recall what the then chief justice of Nigeria, Justice Uwaise said that Abacha's goverment was more law abiding than OBJ's goverment.
As for pdp, nobody is witch-hunting them rather the evil they committed while in power is what is coming after them and they must pay fully for all their crimes.
Saraki is not above the law, if he is guilty, then he must face the fuill wrath of the law. But if he is innocent, then i assure u that he will come out clean and unharmed.
Does ur epistle justify buhari's pattern of action?
fasterwell: Nobody is charging Saraki for armed robbery rather the armed robbers has confessed to be Saraki's thugs or killer machine.
If Saraki is innocent then there is no cause for the rising alarm u are blowing.
Buihari is not GEJ n PEJ who used Mbu to release their political thugs arrested with arms by soldiers in Rivers state
He is always going after anybody threating his ambition & grip on power. Why? OBJ, PDP, and now Saraki? Can't he fight corruption without prioritizing opposition forces ?
No be today! Buhari has been doing wonders for long. I hope Nigerians now see their messiah is an intolerant man. We need more than Buhari in this nation.
Hike In Tariff: Court asked To Restrain Finance Minister A federa High Court sitting in Abuja has been approached to restrain the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, from implementing the recent increase in tariffs on alcoholic beverages and tobacco, which the ministry intends to implement from Monday June 4, 2018.
In an originating summons brought by a non-governmental organisation, Business Renaissance Group, the court was asked to make an order compelling the minister and her agents while reviewing any tariffs, to take into consideration, the interest of the plaintiffs, the generality of the citizens and the clear intendments of the constitution of Nigeria with regard to growing a robust and all inclusive economy for the good of all Nigerians as a fundamental obligation of government.
The plaintiffs are also seeking a declaration that the increment of the tariff duty on alcoholic beverages and tobacco is against public policy and not in tandem with the intention behind Sections 16 and 42 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended.
They therefore requested the court to make a declaration that the phenomenal increment of duties on alcoholic beverages and tobacco is indefensibly and unjustifiably selective, discriminatory, unreasonable and unfairly oppressive of a particular segment of the Nigerian society and the plaintiffs in particular, who use the affected products and whose means of livelihood are threatened by the new oppressive tariffs.
The plaintiffs are also seeking a declaration that a selective and arbitrary increase in commodity tariffs amounts to economic and social emasculation of the citizens affected.
Renewable energy set to be cheaper than fossil fuels by 2020, according to new report ‘Turning to renewables for new power generation is not simply an environmentally conscious decision, it is now – overwhelmingly – a smart economic one’
Renewable energy will be cheaper than fossil fuels in two years, according to a new report.
Experts predict that investment in green infrastructure projects will lead to decreases in the cost of energy for consumers.
Continuous technological improvements have led to a rapid fall in the cost of renewable energy in recent years, meaning some forms can already comfortably compete with fossil fuels.
The report suggests this trend will continue, and that by 2020 “all the renewable power generation technologies that are now in commercial use are expected to fall within the fossil fuel-fired cost range”.
Of those technologies, most will either be at the lower end of the cost range or actually undercutting fossil fuels.
“This new dynamic signals a significant shift in the energy paradigm,” said Adnan Amin, director-general of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IREA), which published the report.
“Turning to renewables for new power generation is not simply an environmentally conscious decision, it is now – overwhelmingly – a smart economic one.”
The report looked specifically at the relative cost of new energy projects being commissioned.
As renewable energy becomes cheaper, consumers will benefit from investment in green infrastructure.
“If the stuff you’re building to generate electricity costs less, the end effect of that is having to pay less for the electricity that comes from it,” Jonathan Marshall, energy analyst at the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) told The Independent.
“The cheaper you install it, the better it is for everyone.”
The current cost for fossil fuel power generation ranges from around 4p to 12p per kilowatt hour across G20 countries.
By 2020, IREA predicted renewables will cost between 2p and 7p, with the best onshore wind and solar photovoltaic projects expected to deliver electricity by 2p or less next year.
Other methods of producing renewable energy, such as offshore wind farms and solar thermal energy, are not yet as competitive as fossil fuels.
However, the results of recent renewable power auctions for projects to be commissioned in the coming years suggest these forms too are due to drop in price.
Auctions provide a useful means of predicting the future cost of electricity.
“These cost declines across technologies are unprecedented and representative of the degree to which renewable energy is disrupting the global energy system,” said Mr Amin.
