More companies need a stable electricity not fuel to fuel generators. PDP so far has been the reason Lagos don't have independent power supply. Now that a Lagos man is there i know thing are going in the right direction.

To the folks here, make I epp una answer some of your questions. If the refinery does start, the price of fuel will largely remain same or even higher. So don't expect cheaper fuel. What you will expect as a benefit is more Forex to go round..forex that would have gone into importing fuel will now be saved, meaning more available Forex, meaning the exchange rate gets better IF the rogues y'all put in power don't mop it all up.

Refineries are created to make money. Money to pay the owner, to pay for maintenance, to pay for taxes, and to pay for worker's salaries.

Any attempt to restrict money making by refinery would lead to its collapse.

(Like what Tinubu is doing now. Landing price of petrol has been above N720 since October 9, and yet fuel is selling below N700 nationwide. LOL.).

Anyway, Nigerians do not want to face that truth.

Ps Even under Abacha we were importing fuel (if you remember the time bad fuel came into the country during Abacha's time). The refineries started their decline under Mr knowledgeable's time.

If your trade balance is positive then your currency appreciates - unless you decide to keep your currency artificially low (China for example keeps the renminbi artificially low to keep its exports competitive and maintain that positive trade balance).

As far as I am aware, Nigeria is not keeping the Naira artificially low. So how can such a large trade surplus of N3.5 trillion (this trade surplus is about 15% of your entire 2023 budget (supplementary budget included)) not lead to appreciation of the local currency? And the year isn't over mind you - if this positive trade balance (as reported) continues, then the year end trade surplus should be even larger. Some posters have mentioned a lag before the effects of a trade surplus can be seen. How long? A year? A decade?

I think that's a major issue here. Polaris may be trying to avoid any fraudulent transactions. Moreover, her transaction is complex (Transfer naira from Polaris to GTBank , then from GTbank to another person's naira account . This 3rd person lives in UK, so he/she paid for you in Pounds. The Uni only refunds to the account that made payment. This 3rd person's UK account is no longer functioning . Polaris (if they have all these information OP shared) may be wondering why not this 3rd person provide his or her new account details with ID to prove he or she is the same person and owner of both the old and new account. So they changed their policy because of OP plea (Polaris may think?)
Did she notify Polaris amd provide all the evidence to show the legitimacy pf the transaction?

Also as a politicians insulting judges, why result to insult when in the first place you trusted them that was why you go to their court. Why can't you accept your defeat and prepare for the next election if you don't have hope of getting justice? You took your case to them as you have lost in the pool and you lost again in the court, the next thing is insult and ridiculed of the judges and justices of the court. I think there should be a heavy fine for any institutions and politicians as well as any individual painting our judiciary in a bad light. Enough is enough.

Well, I believe that with IreV, the affected parties can argue their cases and send APC packing. The updated IreV currently shows the number of accredited voters. What these parties need now is to print out the number of accredited voters per each polling unit. Make/force INEC to get the collation results at the ward level, then compare and contrast to see if there is over-voting. If there is, the court will have no choice than to cancel any polling unit with over voting.
