samwillyco1:What is strong about bvn? At the end of the day they are all unique numbers assigned to individuals |
yinkus6750:This should be for Nigeria Police to deal with, and not armed forces. |
Shugar1:I totally agree. Some do called rich men are still building house with roman pillar all over. That style is so 1990!! |
I've been in US since July last year and a gallon then was $1.55. Now its $2.05. That's almost 30% increase in 7 months because of increase in crude. Many Americans are also out of job and suffering due to pandemic. Agreed they have some government support, but they will all tell you its not enough. Besides here they pay all manner of taxes. We gree pay tax for Nigeria? Just recently did we manage to increase vat to 7.5%, meanwhile sales tax here on everything I buy is 8.25%. Meanwhile this is a country that's has budget almost 300 times that of nigeria. We cannot afford subsidy. Its common sense. The conversation should be what else to be done to manage the brunt. For those who pay no formal tax, that should be their own tax. |
Esseite:See how Nigerians forget so soon. You've forgotten the queue under Jonathan, the subsidy frauds under Jonathan? |
Amotolongbo:This is pretty much how ALL Aboki's get to Lagos. Their being in a truck is not a crime. Neither is having bow and arrow. What we need to do though is remove this okada business from being viable so that they have no reason to come down south. Okada business is what has brought 80% of the Aboki in Lagos in the last 10years. |
nairavsdollars:The politics of Presidency!! As ridiculous as it sounds that APC would zone it to North after 8years of Buhari, it makes sense. If PDP goes North and APC does not, PDP will gain strength there in addition to its power base of SE/SS and that will likely be enough. I see PDP doing President from North and VP from SE/SS. However, if APC also goes North, then it will likely lead in North and SW, while PDP will hold is stronghold of SS/SE. The only way APC can zone to SW/SE with confidence is if Buhari campaigns aggressively for whoever the candidate is, but we all know Buhari will not do that. He's not a party man. Even if APC cuts a deal with SE/SS to feature an Igbo man as either President of VP, it will likely not hold. The only way this works is if PDP "annoys" SE/SS by not giving them even VP slot and I doubt PDP will make that mistake. I see that going to Wike. The sad part of all this though is that none of these permutations is about you and me, but access to the "cookie jar" All said and done though, depending on who they bring as P/VP combo, PDP may not be a bad idea to also show APC that bad performance will be rewarded by being booted out. APC has not been much better than PDP. |
ChelseaArmy:The FG concentrates power in Abuja, but when it comes for time to work, it suddenly knows that these should be handled at the state level. If that is the case, then more resources should be given to the states. The governors have a unique opportunity to battle the FG and reduce the power of the center, but almost all governors are too lazy to do so. Governors forum was more powerful during OBJ and Jonathan's time, but unfortunately it was for selfish reasons as usual, so they could not maintain that brick wall. And Buhari has whittled their power, because many APC governors are riding on his back to win elections. |
Kelvin30286063:Honestly, we all need to travel less these days. Thank goodness for online platforms for holding meetings. Might not be perfect due to internet issues in Nigeria, but better than unnecessary travel. |
mamaafrik:What exactly is this restructuring sef? The North itself isn't really the problem, but political corruption and incompetence everywhere is the issue? Is tinubu that is holding lagos at the jugular a northerner? |
YourMajesty:How is it different from the militancy down south? |
nedekid:Are roads even properly marked in Nigeria? Lagos has the most one way roads in Nigeria, and if you are a visitor from out of town, you won't know most of them. |
The story makes no sense. Why would anyone pay N2bln for one year tenure extension. Interest on N2bln at 10% is N200mln a year or about N18mln a month. What exactly would he be looking for that he is fighting tooth and nail for only 1 year extension after working (and stealing) and for about 35 years. |
nairavsdollars:Actually a very good and mature response from amaechi. Let those whose job it is to speak on fulani matter do so. Must we all speak on a simple matter? |
hakym619:Don't be stupid!! |
marshalcarter:This one is fat, not curves. |
Zzor:It's always the chicks that see it as haters. Don't go and find work to do. Be waiting for who will come and dash you car and pamper you for adding no value. |
AnonPoet:If they make this many vehicles, where are all their vehicles on our roads? Cos I very rarely see 306 on our roads in Lagos. Maybe they are used mainly up North? |
If you are settled with N1bln and lose N60mln....... ![]() |
ChelseaArmy:I would rather that polling centers in the big cities be fewer, but manned with more staff and security so that the voting can be faster and better secured by Police. |
iwaeda:The National Assembly shouldn't even confirm them in the first place. In particular representatives from states where herdsmen and boko haram have ravaged should put up a staunch fight to ensure that they are not confirmed. However, knowing that this is Nigeria and how useless NASS is, it will probably fly. |
oshozondii:So you appreciate the online warriors who defend you, but when online messaging is used during End Sars, online people are a threat to the nation. |
It looks like the governor is abroad. Doesn't he have work to do in his state? |
Yomboy4ever:I get where you are coming from, but daily bread is still never an excuse for lawlessness in the land! |
The satellite tv space is very wide for all to participate, so welcome to TSTV. At the end of the day, time will tell if they are able to stand the test of time. It goes beyond just making it cheap at N2 per day per channel (though I know most Nigerians are craving for cheap stuff), but for me I want quality programing, HD quality, excellent customer service, good use of technology etc. Not the one I'm watching premier league with Arabic commentary. If TSTV can offer these consistently, then all the better, but i'll give them a year to stabilize and prove their worth in the market before I even consider joining them. |
This is the sort of thing we need to see more of from our Men of God. |
ogododo:Which work are they doing from home with no laptops!? They are on holiday, not working from home. |
We need to ask ourselves why public school infrastructure falls apart so quickly. How many private houses in Lagos do we see with their roofs blown out, and so how come it is so common with public schools? Was the quality so poor initially or do the students have something to do with it? I ask cos I've seen students really wreck a school building before. Students also need to be held accountable for spoiling school infrastructure. |
Eriokanmi:What you are getting wrong is that the guy who bought the token for N50k will not use it all in one month. recall he said he bought the other one in June 2020. That means he used N50k worth of electricity in 6months and not one month that nost of you are using to benchmark against gen. |
nairavsdollars:Your tariff per kwh suggest that your electricity supply is above 16hrs per day? Is this the case? https://www.ekedp.com/residential |
Unfortunately, they will all likely be back on the streets in about 1-3 months. Just a matter of time. We have seen this type of action over the decades. Not much has changed. |
onuman:What shocks me most in this country is how you hear militants, terrorists, herdsmen and whatever operate in an hour for 3 to 5 hours!! For goodness sake, that is enough time to fly 50 commandos by chopper to anywhere in Nigeria from Abuja. Is our security response so useless? How can Boko Haram be attacking an army base for 5 hours and no help comes? It makes no sense. In that time, the I should be able to get an attack helicopter from the nearest NAF base to provide vital air support with superior weaponry to swing the battle back in Army's favour, even if they were indeed out numbered initially. Better still, but there should be drones in the air 24/7 armed with air to surface missiles to provide cover. Modern military drones can stay in the air for 24 to 36 hours, so just 2 or 4 is okay for round the clock surveillance and military readiness. But hey, what do I know. |
