funny enuf, they wont bc either they are scared, conscience wil be pricking them, or northern wil start continuous crises to maim people. I swear if I get presidency of this nation, I will replicate exactly wat Buhari did. Exactly in favor of my people and my religion[/quote Exactly. Assuming Tinubu became President in 2023 and made Chief of Defence, Army, Airforce and Navy from the South, the North will cry from now till tomorrow. Yet that is exactly what has been happening from 2015. |
AZeD1:Fantastic comment! What commercial sense is there in an international airport in Katsina of all places. Not even Kaduna! The bazzenness of the nepotistic decision making in the country is shocking. Buhari is focusing on the North and rubbing our faces in it. Same thing with this AKK gas pipeline that is going to Kano. There isn't enough gas down south for electricity and industry, and yet they want to pump so much gas to Kano, Kaduna and Abuja! |
athaboi:Exactly! He will be very busy without achieving anything. |
Is it a mall or an amusement park? Why the over abundance of colors? |
InyinyaAgbaOku:Oh oh. Very good point!! |
theenchanter:Abi o!! Not sure why Dangote bothered. It's not a crime to have sex na! Moreso, he's divorced. Or did anyone think he wasn't having sex all this while? the guy na wood? Agreed, his reputation is somewhat tarnished and his ego bruised, especially after seeing his butt on social media, but hey, it would have blown over relatively quickly had he left it alone and moved on. the babe has nothing to lose and everything to gain from cheap popularity. the fact that she's banged Dangote means a few other Nigerian big men will want to arrange her, even if just to say that they have chopped what Dangote also chopped. Not to talk of other big men the world over. |
slyxavi:We can only support politicians on the basis of what they say during their campaign. And I must confess, the campaign of Buhari said all the right things. I was also in full support of Buhari in 2015. However, it didn't take me up to 1 year to realize that Buhari is an incompetent, nepotistic buffon who will add little or no value to this country. The first straw was taking 6months to appoint Ministers for Nigeria - in the midst of a recession!!! Who the hell does that!? Who campaigns for President without being very clear minded about those who will serve with him? President Biden had almost finished filling his key positions before inauguration. Biden had just 3.5months from Oct to Jan. Buhari had 5months from Jan to May and still took another 6months after inauguration!! Take a look at economy. 2 recessions in 6 years. While the recession could be said to be outside Nigeria's control, what smacks of gross incompetence was that Nigeria was less prepared for the second one than the first one. That indicates zero thinking, strategizing and planning. Now we have taken close to $20bln in loans and we struggle to see the fruits of those loans beyond 4 airports and 2 rail lines. Where the hell has all the money gone? And more importantly, where will the money to pay back come from? Buhari is no doubt the worst president Nigeria has ever had!! So bad in fact, that I am beginning to think this Democracy is a waste of time and military rule is better for us. |
For once an estate that has greenery, and proper walkways and is well laid out. Don't know why we Nigerians have a problem with grass!? If we never interlock or concrete everywhere, we never start. |
What’s this nonsense of military and paramilitary men walking with walking stick. Are they sick or disabled?? If I were the president or governor, I would stop it. If they cannot walk of their own accord, then the have no business in the military/paramilitary. |
At least for once the concession seems to be to a very competent company. I checked out SecureID's website and them seem very solid. Say all you want about Amechi, but he seems to be the only Minister that is trying to get things done professionally. If most other ministers had been handling this portfolio, this concession would have gone to a nameless, faceless briefcase company. https://www.secureidltd.com/ |
Enugupikin:Are you minding him!! too many Nigerians think with what's between their legs, instead of what's in their head! |
Racoon:What embarrassment!? Does he not have children? Besides, the since Shagari is dead, the the government should stop all payments forthwith. If you die as a pensioner, does your widow start collecting your entitlements? No! So why should Shagari 's |
obonujoker:On what basis should State or any government be responsible for Shagari's family after his death? |
Sharia police won't have anything to say about this!! But if its common beer now, they will give someone 100 lashes! |
mansakhalifa:Kinda like how we guys are hung up on football!! |
This article makes no sense and seems contradictory. If I appoint someone to do a job for me on an interim basis, no court can tell me not to sack the person if I so desire. Pondei is not a full time staff of NDDC. |
Shebi Akeredolu is already in his 2nd term. He has no fear about 2nd term. He should go head to head with the FG on this. It's about time a governor in the SW stuck out his neck and exercised his proper authority on matters of security in his state, backed up by the laws of the state. It is indeed worrisome that the Presidency never has anything to say when farmers are murdered on their farms, yet Ondo state government has barely made the pronouncement and Garba Shehu already has a statement. |
meobizy:Calm down a bit. The electricity rate has only become more in line with US rates with the recent increase. And US has over 50 years of solid regulation and investment behind it. Our government on the other hand messed ours up for the last 50years before privatizing it. And private guys could never invest when they were not making profit. Its a simple economics issue which would have been sorted by now if we did the right thing. The unfortunatebthing is that the "right" thing means higher bills for a struggling populace, but that is the reality. To clarify, average electricity rates in US is $0.13 per kwh. Some states are as high as $0.25 per kwh while some are as low as 0.09per kwh. But remember these guys are not investing in the electricity infrastructure at the moment. Those are all in place. |
saintruky:I doubt a fridge and freezer would have been turned off. For a month with good light and the new rate, those two could use N5k to N10k. |
The best thing about this news is that it says a private company will manage it. This and many more things should be moved to private hands. National Theatre Nigerian Television Authority Tarawa Balewa Square Major Highways Nigerian Railway Corporation International Airports |
Flytime:Nothing illegal about Shell operations. Amazing that rather than hold your corrupt leaders to account, you find it easy to blame a company that pays 85% of its profit as petroleum profit tax. |
owobokiri:Oga, don’t say what you don’t know enough about. She’ll is selling IT’S INTEREST in the JV. In this particular JV, FG equity through NNPC is 55%, Shell is 30%, Total is 10% while Agip is 5%. All parties contribute cash to run the business is that same ratio every year. Produced oil is also shared in that ratio. What it means that investments that have been made over the years within that OML are partly owned by Shell to the tune of 30% and that stake can be sold. So for the uneducated, when ever you see Nigeria produces 2mln barrels, only about 55% of that goes to FG directly. The other partners carry their own oil and sell by themselves to their own pocket. The oil wells however remain where they are. There is nothing new or strange about it. Oil companies the world over sell stakes, while others buy them, so please stop with the it doesn’t happen anywhere else crap. |
Since when is it a crime for a man or woman to commit adultery? Its a private matter between man and wife. |
CodeTemplar:Not quite the same. For electricity meters, people have to come physically to your house to come and install. Telecoms isn't like that. It's all done backend on single servers, so nowhere near as logistically challenging. Not making excuses for them though, as they should have done way better. |
Fahdiga:No where in the article did it say it was perpetrated by Fulani people. |
Fa, fa, fa, foul..... Avram Grant ke?? |
This is a simple thing that should have been done from the outset. It really irritates, when FG comes out and makes it seem like an achievement and the people are being done a favour. |
JosEast:“Where we were supposed to be given $2 billion every year in the last 20 years, they were giving us $260 million. But from last year, after the amendment, it is $2 billion annually,” he said. This type of statement from Lawan actually emphasizes the issue with the mentality of Nigerian government officials. There is nothing like Nigeria 'was supposed to be given...'. Companies operate according to the law. If Nigerian government demonstrated gross complicity and incompetence in not reviewing and amending it's laws for decades, that is not the fault of any company. Immediately the law changed, IOC's complied. IOC's like all companies can make presentations to NASS to mitigate unfavorable provisions in amendments to the law. It is also the responsibility of NASS to ensure that amendments are not unduly harsh on companies to the extent that the industry is no longer viable to companies, as this will affect the government in terms of tax receipts and unemployment. |
If they can't do it well like the old one in terms of story lines, directing, scripting and comic relief, then they should leave it alone and let us keep our nostalgic memories of the old one. |
SIRTee15:Very well analyzed. Common petrol and electricity subsidy removal and Nigerians want to cry to the roof due to poverty. Yet government cannot really afford it, but because of fear, they continue it and even borrow USD to balance the budget, But for a country that will have much lower USD revenues in the future, where will dollar to pay all the loans come from? Lower dollar revenues then means exchange rate will continue to worsen, especially as population skyrockets and we will have to import to continue catering to them and continue subsidizing as well. Most of these extra 50mln kids will not go to school worth calling a school, have poor education and then become sources of insecurity and the cycle continues endlessly because government cannot break it!! If that is not worth escaping Nigeria for, i don't know what is. Besides, that cycle has started already. It's what you are seeing in kidnapping, militancy, boko haram, herdsmen killing, cattle rustling, violent armed robbery, minor armed robbery etc and it will only get worse cos government has zero capacity to break the cycle. When touts in Mushin. oshodi, yaba etc are able to over power entire police stations with ease during EndSARS, then you should know that this country is on a time bomb |
RedPanthar:Guy how can the toll gate generate billions weekly?? So let's do some math. Let's assume you are referring to both toll gates as generating N500mln in a week each, which is N71mln per day (note though that Sunday will generate nowhere near as much cash as a weekday), then divide that by an average of N350, then it means you are suggesting 204,000 (Two hundred and Four thousand unique vehicles pass that toll gate either way. Which is equivalent to 102,000 vehicles going back and forth i.e to work and back as well as those that move around during the day. I very much doubt up to 102,000 cars pass in one direction daily. That's a hell of a lot of cars. |
