That ramp is narrow and doesn't look sturdy. With the amount of times we do this in Nigeria, given that we import thousands of cars into Nigeria in this fashion, shouldn't we have a better, more secure way of offloading cars from containers??

I am looking for batteries that are flat and slim like Tesla power wall rather than these car battery type of battery.

By now Nigeria should have 2 heavily armed drones doing 24hr surveillance of Maiduguri and environs. Once these guys show up in their gun trucks, remote controllers of these drones swoop in to attack with gps and laser guided bombs and missiles.

Why are we making this conflict harder than it needs to be. If America won’t support us, we should go to Israel, China or Russia to contract that drone service to us. The drone operator can be safely inside the army HQ in Borno.

I get where you are coming from. We have all been mentally abused by the antics of our politicians and government.
But even at that, your comments are a bit shallow.
Besides, Wakki to Itakpe is not a high passenger traffic route, so passenger traffic on the train could never have been the idea. As any one in Nigeria knows, the train was designed to serve Ajaokuta steel complex. If the line is extended from Akaokuta to Abuja, it can connect from there to Kano and can serve as a means of heavy duty equipment to that axis from the port and movement of food from that axis to Warri port for export.

What matters is that the rail is made to run economically and on a commercial basis to benefit the wider economy.

Meanwhile companies across the country are already talking to NRC to see train can be used to move stuff and businesses will spring up around the corridor, but instead of seeing opportunity you focus on the northern southern politics.

This is the real value of the railway - movement of heavy freight cheaply and efficiently across the country. It’s less about moving passengers from Lagos to Kano, though that is an added bonus.

If trucks were to move what is on this train, about 20 trucks would be required, with attendant nuisance and destruction of the roads.

OSFRA is wrong no doubt, but the activities of some of these developers must be sanitised. Sometimes the way they construct, you would wonder if any sensible, and educated person works in those companies.

Yes there are gas powered electricity plants in the Niger delta. And almost all of Dangote's factories are in the south.

Take what they say by a grain of salt, I use solar and I know how expensive this system is although it's worth it sha but the federal govt should focus on fixing the most important sectors first like security, universities, roads and eventually part of the job sector (cos some of us are self employed), not white elephant projects all the time and even at that they haven't told us what this solar can power and what it cannot, they are better off making solar systems cheaper and affordable or give discounts for buying one so as to encourage the movement like they're doing in the states in the form of rebates.

As far as I'm concerned, this program is overrated. They will put one or two solar panels on people's roof in villages, enough to just power light bulbs, radio and maybe a small standing fan and they will claim they have provided that household electricity!

If the house cannot power anything really useful like TV sets or a fridge or tools, not sure what value it brings.

Many science students in Nigeria NEVER worked in a proper science lab. Something high school students in US do every other day.

What I don't understand is what Osun state is looking for in number two.
That state should have declared bankruptcy by now, with the way things are going, their debts would go higher than Lagos with no feasible plan of repaying and not much economic activity going on.

I can't remember when I even read a news piece from the state. It appears the current governor Oyetola who was thought to bring succor due to his economic background is just sitting around, borrowing money and paying salaries.

Dangote refinery and Eko Atlantic are private projects. Lagos state government has never gone on record to say that have invested in these projects as Lagos State.

The article is full of half information, Lagos IGR in three months is greater than it's annual Federal allocation, which was used to calculate the revenue and debit ratio. The answer from the article is not factual, real nor justify realty on ground. Lagos State pays salaries and pensions regularly, able to meet all it's financial obligations as and when due.
A States that generate an average IGR of N38Billion per month.

Yeah, indeed the report seems very incomplete and inaccurate.

Report seems suspect as it suggests Lagos revenue is less than N200bln. Perhaps the report is not counting federal allocation and only looking at IGR. If so, what is this is an apple pears comparison, as the states were only able to incur these debts due to total revenue profile, regardless of if its IGR or allocation.

I think it is unlikely that Gulder etc do not advertise on AIT, Channels or TVC, but maybe not as much. By the way how many Nigerians watch AIT and what is the quality of those that do and then what is their spending power.

Nigerians with spending power will likely have DSTV and it will likely not be AIT, TVC or Channels they watch there. The little I watch of Channels TV is on YouTube sef. I have not watched up to 1 hour of local TV in like 10years.

Those that primarily watch AIT, Channels and TVC are less likely to have DSTV. Unfortunately, reality is that they are also less likely to have the spending power some brands are looking for. People in Agege, Mushin, Ogba, Mafoluku, Ojuelegba etc that watch more local TV can barely afford N1000k. But people in VI, Oniru, Lekki, Gbagada, Ikoyi etc who are more likely to watch DSTV full time are also the affluent who can go hang out and with friends and down a crate of beer with fish.

So if you are Gulder or heineken, who are you targeting??

On the other hand if you are maggi or toothpaste, its clear who they are targeting and where they will be advertising.

It's the reality of economics unfortunately.

Companies go to platforms where their target audience will SEE their products. It is well known that if Man U is playing Arsenal there will be no less than 2million EYES glued to DSTV in Nigeria, so companies take their adverts there.

Let NFL improve the league (which by the way is better than say 20 years ago, but still has along way to go), get it on TV with quality camera work, promote the league in multiple ways (not sure NFL has a proper website with facts, stats of the league etc UPDATE, just googled and they actually have a decent looking site) and they will get the results after 5-10years.

But as usual with Nigeria, no one wants to put in the work, but they want the same results as developed countries.
