from experience, your taste bud will be somehow and you might feel your food is not having enough salt which can make you to add more salt to it and before you know it, the food will be salty, u just have to be cautious cos too much salt is not good in pregnancy.

Please post anonymously.. I'm grieving bitterly right now. I gave birth to my son some months ago.. My mom is late so my husband's mom came around to help me. Although she is very nice and we get along only that sometimes she can be quite stubborn with her opinions. We have been quarrelling since I had my baby.. Because she tried to impose something's I'm not comfortable with. Few weeks after birth.. We went to the hospital for vaccines.. They told us not to bath him that night. So we went home. He was cranky.. Crying and I couldn't help myself from crying long with him. My MIL started preparing bathing water.. I quickly said mummy no o. He can't bath tonight.. The nurses said so.. She laughed and said I should stop acting as if she didn't train all her 7 children. I didn't respond I took the baby inside and continued to pet him. My husband came in from work and collected him even without changing his work clothes.. He started singing funny songs to him and he was getting calmer. I stepped into the kitchen to serve his dinner only for me to hear scream from baby.. I ran out.. Hubby was sitting and taking off his shoes. I said where is baby? He said mummy took him.. She said if she gives him a bath his body would be calm and he would stop crying. I ran to the bathroom and saw her bathing him.. Ahhh Mom! But I told you his nurse advised we don't bath him only for tonight.. She didn't answer..she kept pressing his body with very hot water and massaging him. Including the injection spot and my little baby was winning in pain. I was tempted to snatch him away but I held my self together.. She finally finished bathing him then she started throwing him up.. Quite high.. I said that's enough mom.. But she continued repeatedly. unfortunately as she was about to catch him he slipped and fell hard to the tiled floor. My heart froze..i rushed to pick him but he wasn't moving.. I started crying and panicking. Hubby rushed in too. Mama started crying. We rushed to the hospital. I was begging God and crying on the way to have mercy on me and my child but they said he was no longer breathing.. Just like that?? They did all sorts to recuperate him but he didn't move.. They pronounced him dead. I cried my heart out. A child I suffered to birth just went like that!!!
This message is not meant to cast a stone at mama.. I know she didn't intend for that to happen. My message to moms especially new moms is trust your motherly instincts.. Whatever you are not okay with concerning your child, don't allow it.. Anyone that tries to make you feel like you don't know enough about being a mother.. Stay away from them.. If you can get pregnant and nurse a child for nine months.. There's nothing you can't do for that child as a mother. Avoid throwing fragile little babies up.. It's medically not ideal as their brain is to tender and can trigger shock.. (elderly women believe babies should be thrown to avoid fear but it's just a myth) don't endanger your child to satisfy any one. I'm still grieving especially as I witnessed the death with my eyes. May we no experience any evil loss.

Yes o, we did undiluted exclusive breastfeeding for correct 6 months.

My baby is just like yours. He does not want to eat anything whatsoever. He will close his mouth completely when it is food time which frustrates me. When i forcefully put food in his mouth,he will spit it out, he will even blow bubbles with d food and have fun ( omo olomo).
What has been helping so far, when it is meal time, i put him in front of tv and play babies songs for him, put spoon in his other hand and surround him with toys. He will watch babies song and get carried away, tries to put the spoon/any of the toys in his mouth and open the mouth wide, i take advantage and put food in it. He will get angry and spit them out, i persevere and keep doing it.
Now, once d food is in his mouth he just swallows and enjoy it. The only thing is that he will never open his mouth. That is the battle i have been battling since he was 6 month and now he is 7 month and it is improving with time. I spend like 1hr on each feed. It is really stressful but i know with time it will get better.

You mamas are trying o, kudos to you. my baby has never for once reject food even from birth, anything goes ni. I pray he improve with time.

This is a sign that he was ready..it would have been stressful if you forced it on him.

Personally, I just allow them jare..my son was potty trained by his school. Now he's 2+, he does not bed wet as well. How did I achieve that? last thing before he sleeps, he must use the toilet. Btwn 1-3am, I wake up and take him to wee. I've been doing it consistently and it works perfectly.

for my daughter, sometimes she say "mummy poo" and when you put her on the potty, she actually poops..but then again, I'm not home all day + no energy for that one when I return when she starts school, let them finish the work ..her brother is her poop detector, once she poos, he must inform us before we even notice

Are you serious? I started with my son when he was 6 months o, I can remember vividly that day, he was purging serioulsy and before I knew it, I have used like 6 diapers within 3hrs, na so i carry potty wash am put him bombom o. If I just noticed him of any sign, I will put him immediately and will poopoo inside. Thats how our journey to potty training started, before I know it @7months, he doesn't stain his diaper again, he will make sure the diaper is removed and that was a signal for me that he wants to poopoo. I will say oficially, potty training started when we were 7 months.

As the boy is rejecting water from the bottle, try and get a syringe as alternative to the bottle. Cos he needs the water whether he likes it or not.

I did that everyday for 3 weeks

Massage with hot water, thats what I did during my own and before i knew it, it dried up. You can take paracetamol alongside, that stuff can cause fever cos its very painful.

Please experienced mums, is nospamin safe to treat colic? I already inquired at the hospital and they said a big fat NO saying there's no cure for colic and it will eventually pass, while nospamin causes babies to accumulate gas in their belly and make it swell. but my Mum and MIL claims its safe during their time and I'm really tempted to ask my mum to get it as she has been on my neck to ignore the hospitals opinion.

This incessant cry from my baby is making me lose my mind. She is unusually inconsolable, draws up her leg like she's in pain and squeezes her face in pain when crying. And it always in the midnight when we all need good sleep. I don't know what to do!

I used nospamin for my baby and throughout the first 3 months, no form of incessant cry or inconvenience for him. Though not a daily dose for him then.

Also, I massage with hot water morning and night.

that should be for measles, they just concluded the exercise in Abuja. They even go to churches to give children within that age range.

I don't even bath him @ night. When it started initially,i learnt he sits under d fan directly in class but i instructed the teacher to change his sitting position in the classroom. It started getting better after this but since this heat started... Sometimes,he coughs until he vomit all hes eaten...

I'll talk to the Doc. But i've started using the zinnat for him since yesterday and it looks like its fair...

Same thing happened to my son since he resumed school, running nose and cough especially at night, we used all we can from septrin to different cough syrups, augmentin and the last was one piriton syrup that was sold to us for 1,800. the cough will go for 2 days and come back again, we blow nose tire. last week sunday, he started coughing again after finishing the piriton and was unable to sleep at night, he vomited like no tomorrow. I took him to the office that day, he coughed throughout. I really pity the boy, on my way home I branched a pharmacy and asked them to look for a cheaper cough syrup for me, (I planned buying the Zinnat the 3rd day) so I can use it to suppress the cough o pending when i will get the zinnat. They gave me one cough syrup for children for 250, I gave him immediately at the pharmacy, after 3hrs, i repeated it. To the Glory of God, He did wonder o, the cough stopped and the nose dried up. With prayer, I make sure he completed his dose. till now, no cough and he vomitted plenty phlegm and chest now clear.

Just sharing my testimony with u ni sis. God that perfect my son's health will surely do yours.
