I'm boldly telling you that I don't have anything to do with this loan. She even admitted it in her first visit. She apologised and left. Then this disastrous visit again |

Wodu89: You've weathered the storms. That you can remain in your two feet and in the same environment will put shame on your disloyal workers, fake friends and customers.
The damage has been done and can't be undone. It's time to stop crying about the past and get back to the drawing board as an entrepreneur.
Let's begin the rebuilding process ( Rebound )
To do this, you need a new team, put an advert for 2-3 new workers from distant location that do not know about the incidence.
Make calculations on paper the time around. The calculation should be in two forms :
Number of customers sought
Amount needed in cash sum that will make you see your business as back on its feet.
Give each of your marketers target and let them know your past and why they can't approach to traders in your current location.
Break your target customer amounts into realistic milestones. I.e you need just thrity customers. Each of your female marketer should bring in ten. Each week, they must bring two or three. Which is decent
Keep a new record that can be publicized without showing the exact amount of money but figured that can prove of your organization's financial health, table it before the remaining 10% and speak with them to constantly speak to few others that had doubts in you, for them to consider rejoining when they feel more confident. That you know their confidence level has dropped.
You also dress well,.be neat and wear new clothes and take out the address details of the 90% that left and begin to revisit them along with spreadsheets that shows the healthy status of your firm's finances. Tell them that you know that their confidence in you has dropped.to low levels but that over the next six months, you want them to reconsider continuing business with you.
Do new things. I.e wear new clothes. Go and buy brand new clothes and shoes. This changes the perspectives of the assumptions others have about you. Get printed round neck shirts with your brand name at it's back for your marketers and begin your rebuilding
THE GREATEST TRICK OF ALL IS IF YOU DINT HAVE A CAR USE OF OUT THE FUNDS LEFT AND BUY AN AFFORDABLE ONE. THIS ONE WILL CONFISE THEIR THOUGHTS ABOUT YOU COMPLETELY. THE WORKD HAS CHANGED PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO ASSOCIATE WITH ANYONE THEY ASSUME IS SUFFERING. CHANGE THEIR VIEW OF YOU...
You've cried enough, it's time to get back to the drawing board and begin the rebound process. Asyou begin your restratehizing remember to break all your plans into daily scalable actions and to set timelines for your goals
See you on the other side of your success Thanks a lot bro Your number is not on Whatsap |

Good day friends , I own a Thrift firm We Are into daily savings (Ajo) and thrift collection; a contributory savings and mutual arrangement which helps to collect and save money for low income earners, petty traders, hawkers, disabled etc, who are still unbanked and inactive in the formal banking system. A Sterling Bank staff whom I have never seen before then came to my office for loan recovery in February this year. While she was ranting and creating scene in front of my customers , She said that my brother fraudulently assisted my mum to get a loan from there bank and has not paid the loan in full I told her that the loan which I don't know anything about doesn't have my name or the name of my company in it and that she should leave and stop creating panic among my customers After she left, people started coming for there money in hundreds. It wasn't easy but I was able to manage the situation Two weeks ago, she came back again, this time with the men of the NPF. They assaulted my brother in my head office and detained him for 4 days. She didn't even say that it was a loan, she told people around that we defrauded the bank. Ever since that last visit, we lost everything we built over the years. We had bank rush, threats from customers and the resignation of workers because of fear of misinformed customers. It's just as if my world has come to an end. I'm very confused and on stand still at this point What do you think I should do at this point please |
Nairaland General › Re: What's Your Advice To Help.. Mom Is In Detention. by concho(m): 9:57pm On Aug 25, 2023 |
chocolateme: With heavy heart, I narrate to you how my mom ended up in SARS custody till today. I may not be able to give every single detail of what happened but please feel my pain and give me your opinion and advice. It may be a bit long but please bear with me.
My parents stay at Anambra but I and my sister stay in Lagos due to our job, I called my mom on Wednesday last 2 days but her number was switched off and I called dad who said mom's phone is broken and that they will call us back when he gets to the house. Ok they never called, yesterday. The same excuses, I asked him if there is any problem, he replied ''no''.
Suddenly by 5.30 this morning he called that we should open the gate for him, meaning that he came to Lagos on night bus. We were surprised, though not that surprised because he is meant to leave for China tomorrow for business.
He opened up this morning that on Wednesday around 5am, their house help woke up to go and switch on the sumo to pump water and saw about five men jumping into our compound through the fence, she ran to their room and woke them, they started hearing loud bangs on the gate from outside and on the iron door entrance to our house. They later realized it was the police but SARS.
Before now, we had business setback and loaned around 2.8m from the bank, (3 years now to be precise). I don't know how they calculated the interest but last year they refused to accept the loan amount first so we can be paying the interest in instalments. So now it accumulated, my dad said the bank said its 7m that we shall pay and even one of our shops that was used as collateral wasn't moving well due to location so it was rented out but it is still my day's property and the local government has its evidence of existence and ownership. The loan was collected by my mom via my dad's signature and paper, they run different lines of businesses and both travels too.
It was the bank that sent them that morning, knowing that it will be very difficult to make contacts to alleviate the situation if they arrest my dad, my mom decided that dad hides so she could speak with them. My dad went up to our penthouse. They ransacked every where in the house and did not see him, one of them noticed the penthouse and went up threatening to break the door ( they were 8 in number). My mom told them that she is the one that got the loan not her husband, that she will go with them to their office.
She changed into her clothes and they took her away till today, my dad has been trying all possible best to bail her through the lawyer but its hard, then they started trailing my dad. The lawyer advised him to leave the state because it will be worst if they catch him and if they catch him, he should forget about traveling or access to make contact while in detention. Secondly it is really important for him to travel as his flight has been booked, since today, so much efforts have been put in to bail her but to no avail, the top ranked police officer has put a call through from Abuja but yet nothing. I don't know how much the SARS were paid.
They went with the shop's original documents and the lawyer today to the shop and the Manager ended up rejecting it after evaluation with reasons that it will not fetch them seven million, its harder because the former bank manager just retired and this is a new manger. The lawyer wanted to file a court case but the NBA Anambra is still on strike that's why it's difficult to bail her.
Her BP is fast going out of hand and she has refused to eat since Wednesday only water. My brother with the lawyer has taken her drugs to her, the lawyer has decided that by Monday, they file the case on Federal high court and that way, they will grant her bail. Everyone is panicking, I don't understand and I don't know but we all unanimously accept that dad should not go there. Though so far, he is getting help from his contacts, but what I know is that the amount 7m is unacceptable. I feel it's unfair to jump into our private property through the fence as if they were coming to catch a criminal, the Manager has turned deaf ear to everybody's plea to grant mom bail on her health status. Well that's all I understand for now, so she will stay there till Monday again, I don't even know what to do to help. Do you have anything helpful as per advice so we see if she can be released before Monday? Monday sef is too far. My dad is so pale now and is refusing to eat too. Hi, how did this end? I'm currently faced with this experience please |

Contact your customers individually and explain things to them. Apologise for the situation you put them, yes, you will take the blame even though they are just ignorant. Warm them up to return their money and assure them their funds are safe with you. Thanks a million times sir |

Now everyone want their money . The slanderous statement has ruined my reputation 4. I’m almost out of business with hundreds of threat from misinformed customers 5. She ( the bank staff ) detained my brother for 4 days Bro please, what do I do ?? I’m very frustrated at this point |

SocialJustice: 1. You can not be jailed, this is a civil matter. You should get a lawyer to file an injunction on your behalf to restrain the company from harassing you. Do this urgently so you have a legal document confirming your willingness to pay but under a rescheduled time frame. Better you talk to a lawyer first on the best plan of action. But I assure you, there is no jail for you.
2. Yes, the police can even with your torchlight phone. More reason to talk to a lawyer fast to get legal protection before police harassment starts.
3. The worst is a police or court case where you state your intention to pay but only as your financial power allows you to. So in reality, you can strike a deal in court to pay N10-N50k monthly as you can afford.
4. Ease your mind, this case is very civil, there's nothing you have signed in any document that forces you to make payment you can't afford. But take the documents you signed to a lawyer too.
5. Next time when you're given a loan that can't start your project, learn to reject money and save yourself unnecessary stress.
6. You don't start a new business with loans, loans are only used to amplify returns in a proven business model.
7. I have consulted for several companies including banks like the one you borrowed from. They do not want legal troubles or associated expenses. So get your lawyer to write them, make it clear you've endured enough mental and emotional stress and would like to proceed with payment without further blackmail and threats.
Good luck. Can I reach you on WhatsApp please? Would want to discuss something with you |

Crime › Can I Win This Case Against Sterling Bank?? by concho(op): 1:43am On Aug 16, 2023 |
My brother took a Loan of 1,800,000 from Sterling bank to complete the money he needed to purchase rice.
His warehouse was vandalized and 85bags of the rice was stolen. He couldnt meet up with the loan repayment after paying half of the money. He was still trying everything possible to commence payment
On Saturday evening, some armed police officers accompanied by a bank marketer stormed my office where my brother came to ask me for financial assistance and started beating up my brother. They tortured him till he became weak, chained him and took him away.
Before they left my office, they told my customers waiting outside that they should go collect there money that we are fraudulent people ( N:B, I'm into thrift collection business )
They kept him in detention for 4 days ( he got out today) . When my mother went to see/bail him, they detained her too and made her to borrow 200k from her friends over the phone to offset part of the loan .
The moment they got an alert, they pushed my mum out of the station.
They forced my mum and brother to sign some documents inside station, stating that they will be remitting money to the station every month
Now in the suit, I'm petitioning the ; Sterling bank, The branch manager, NPF And the marketer.
What's your thought? My brother is currently in the hospital getting treatment |

FirstCounsel: That loan is a civil transaction. 1. Petition that Banker direct to her head office. 2. Get your brother out on bail. The police have absolutely no business being debt recovery agents. 3. Sue that lady and the police for enforcement of fundamental human rights. Claim damages. Even the police people here are persuading the lady to let my brother go so he doesn't die in there custody. There are things we can't fake It's hepatitis B, it doesn't hide |

Why would your brother collect loan without any means of paying back So we should pity your brother because he wants to cripple another man business at the expense of his sickness You didn't read the part where I stated that his warehouse was vandalized? I didn't know that people don't have problems in America where you come from. Good luck |

Good morning Friends, Sorry I’m coming up with this on a Sunday morning . My brother has been very sick since January after his warehouse got vandalized and couldn’t offset a bank Loan. He was diagnosed of hepatitis B and his condition got from better to worse I knew the debt was part of what was eating him up , So I promised him that will do what ever is within my power to offset the debt just to save his sanity and health I called the lady ( loaning officer) that aided him in the loan process and requested for restructuring since it’s a commercial bank (Sterling bank) I explained the critical nature of my brother’s sickness to her and my brother’s inability to repay the loans She said “No” to restructuring and started laying curses on my brother with threats. She later called to inform me that she has taken the case to a Deity in her village ( Over a bank loan) Fast forward to last night , She came with armed police men on tricycle and beat up my brother , chained him and took him away . I immediately put a call across to Sterling bank to know if they authorized or came for the arrest on Saturday evening and they said “No” They said that they don’t have a hand in the arrest and they don’t operate that way Please friends , how do I go about this My brother is still in detention and the woman is still threatening to jail him |

Now let me help you with analysis (possibility)
1. Your wife has tried everything possible for four years and couldn't conceive, she then noticed that you are running out of patience and decided to do everything possible to get pregnant for you. ( I didn't say she cheated )
2. Your side chick loves you and knew that the only thing that she could use to trap you to her self is to get pregnant. (The pregnancy might not be from you, but you are the only that needs the baby)
3. It might even be that you are impotent, so it's a win for all parties . You won't need to spend millions to adopt kids
