Maybe, but things evolve. And they're looking at the taste of general, global audiences who want to see the best compete.

I feel like this will actually improve the quality of game because what you'll end up with is feeder teams and leagues, and the absolute top guys, instead of a bunch of overpaid underwhelming athletes who stop trying after a while. When someone can go from a regular salary to freakish money, and they have a real shelf life, they're playing a very different game. It's part of why I enjoy small league games far more than any of the Euro matches I've watched. And we'll get the same level of game in the ESL that we basically get from FIFA, especially since so much more will rest on fewer teams, and players will get away with less. Should be interesting.

Tyler Perry does in fact have acting talent. I've never seen him in a real, heavy dramatic role, so I don't know how good he actually is, but someone cannot do all those characters without real talent. It's arguably much harder to be a good comedic actor.
