My 14-year-old daughter admitted to me that she’s three months pregnant. What should I do?
All I can do is tell you how I handled it when my 17 year old daughter told me she was pregnant. Rather, I told HER she was pregnant. She had left home several months earlier, not liking my rules, but I’d managed to cajole her home for dinner. I then bought her a pregnancy test and sent her into the bathroom. It didn’t take 5 minutes. It didn’t even take one minute. That stick turned pink so quickly she barely had time to pull up her pants.

She came out of the bathroom hyperventilating, ready to scream. I walked up to her, held both her hands, and told her, “You have 5 minutes to freak out. Scream, cry, punch something if you have to. But only 5 minutes. After you’re done freaking out, that baby will still be there and we’ll have to be adults and deal with it.”

And she did. She bawled in my arms for 5 minutes at what she saw was the end of her life. After her 5 minutes was up, I told her “Okay, that’s it. Now let’s figure this out. Us freaking out isn’t going to change you being pregnant. So, first question, what do YOU want to do?”

It was her choice. I can advise, and offer what experience I have, but I could NOT make that decision for her.

She chose to keep the baby. Okay, problem one solved. Now what?

We spent the night talking. She moved home, knowing I’d support her every step of the way. I was at every doctors appointment, every ultrasound. I helped her grow her self confidence again, so she could be an effective mother. I was in the room while my grandson was born. I helped raise him, so she could work and go to school.

That was almost 3 years ago. She JUST moved in with the father of her son, after they took a 2 year break to each get their lives together. Their son is a wonderfully smart and funny little man that gave me a ton of smiles. She moved out with full confidence that, if she ever needed anything, her mom is right behind her. She calls me her best friend.

At times it not just cowardice but being nice. Unfortunately, at times, the niceness is not always awesomely rewarded, such was the case of Carl who lost his life while trying to save a little woman.

How it went

Carl drowned when he jumped into a reservoir to save a schoolgirl has been named by police. At the time of death, Carl was 21, He has been described as "kind and loving" by devastated friends.

The unsung hero died while trying to help a nine-year-old at Chasewater Country Park, in Burntwood, Staffordshire. While the girl made it safely out of the water, on the other hand Carl was confirmed dead at the scene. Police believe the girl was 30m to 40m out in the water when Carl dived in to help.

Again, there was another story of a Dad sending his kid to a public Secondary School whilst he was saving more money so his kid could attend a Private University.

The big question is, why, why and why? I mean, it is ridiculous to send a kid to a Nursery School of ₦80,000 or more.

I can hear you say, but their parents are politicians. Nah, not all of them. So, here is the fastest fact.

When people pay exorbitant fee so their kids can attend expensive schools, it is not just the education they’re paying for.

They’re paying to secure valuable future networking for their kids, to have a seat at the rich’s table. The rich stay rich by networking among themselves.

What the wealthiest folks spend all their time doing is attending dinners, fund-raisers, weddings, birthday parties, golf games etc.

It is in such gatherings that the juiciest deals are struck, wealth is carefully redistributed and old friendships are strengthened. Middle class folks who understand this don’t even flinch paying through the skin to use their kids’ education as a leverage.

Not only do they stand a chance to meet folks from the upper class in an informal setting (PTA meetings etc?), they’re also placing your kids on a pedestal. You see, the kids of the wealthiest parents today are very much likely to be the wealthiest tomorrow.

They might not be as rich as their parents (say, Dangote), but they’d control a substantial amount of wealth.



Wealth normally creates more wealth: Wealth = CAPITAL.

So, if, say Billionaires like Isuamfon Offiong, Otedola, Dangote, Adenuga send their kids to Covenant, here’s what happens when a middle class family gets their kids to Covenant:

#1. They have a link to the Otedola/Isuamfon/Dangote/Adenuga family. Say, the kids become friends… Family friends? Boom. Juicy friendship. And do not forget juicy deals and contracts evenly distributed.

#2. They’re ensuring their kids get a ticket to wealthy club of the future, because the future families of Dangote etc. are most likely a control future wealth.

So ensuring your kids “roll with them,” means giving them a seat at tomorrow’s “rich men circle.” Sorry, but this leaves the non-rich ones jealous and hateful why their mother did not marry Dangote. That was a question of a kid that saw hardship in life.

He had no other choice than to sum up the courage to ask her mom IF she did not see a Governor to marry, or those that marry same had different heads, this was a beautiful mom by the way.

So when people pay that huge amount for “education”, there is more to it. Education in itself is quite cheap. But networking is expensive. Networking is Transcorp, Networking is golf, and Networking is covenant Uni. Or any social setting where the Rich thrive.

We know that not every expensive school offers this sort of valuable networking. But that does not make the fact that the rich kids connect a bluff.

Some schools are just expensive to give off an aura of wealth: they have little/no history, the wealthy don’t patronize them. They just exploit the avarice and ignorance of the Nigerian middle class.

But there are schools, churches, clubs, Hotels, locations that the truly wealthy patronize. Those places have an aura of class (not just luxury.) Those are the sort of places I am talking about.

It is okay to pay yourself into such circle using your kid’s education. It’s an investment.

Now, I had a course mate, during our Industrial Attachment, IT, his dad linked him up to his friend to get an experience with an ongoing construction site, that was a pure breed on-site experience as a Civil Engineering Student.

What happened? Later on I saw him bought a Wine to that man – his dad’s friend, site engineer (or something), do you think he had already connected the dots or formed a relationship? I bet he did.

At another time, his dad almost got him a good job which meant, he would have been given a Hilux van, but not that he did not complete his 1 year National Youth Service Corp (because of the discharge certificate).

If all these can be possible, then what are we talking about here?




No one says, there is a sure Bet, not again.

Furthermore, but we ain’t praying against it, right? Right.

With certainty, there is no assurance that every kid from a wealthy family will end up rich. But truth is that they’re more likely to end up with substantial amount of wealth compared to a kid from a poor family who’s working hard from scratch.

Or haven’t you heard of the story of Jesus telling a Woman that this is not children’s bread? What did she say in reply? Read about it.

So, there may not be a straight guarantee of these kids being rich but the crumbs that fall from the table will be used to feed them, anytime and if possible.

This leaves the Middle/lower class Kids to work their ass off or get dammed to struggling (unless you are graced up, favored and a child of providence).

So as you’re going to your regular school and scoring As, a rich kid is getting similar As in a more conducive environment, networking opportunities and other support systems.

Believe it or not, these kids from rich homes have mostly better IQ, self-confidence, and manner of approach than (most) someone from socially-strained family.

The Heart Breaking Story of the Wilkinson’s
In March 2016, mother-of-two Tracey Wilkinson had seen Aaron Barley, a “supposed homeless man”, shivering and trying to keep warm in a cardboard box outside of her local Tesco. Unable to just walk on by, she offered to drive Aaron to the council offices to help him get a place at a hostel.

Although he was now in a hostel, he still had very little money or food, so Tracey organized his breakfast and dinner every day.

Sometimes serving him food would mean inviting him over to her home to eat dinner with her family.

Aaron said: “I just need somebody to give me a chance. I need somebody to give me a lucky break.”

Hearing that from Aaron, Tracey’s husband, Peter Wilkinson, found him a job in his manufacturing firm and he was then able to move into a flat of his own.

For whatever reasons no one knew, he began taking drugs and went off the rails. Managers at the firm reported high levels of absence and aggressive behavior. He was let go, which then resulted in him being evicted from his flat.

Mr. Wilkinson then found him asleep on their driveway and so the family decided to try and help him again. This time they organized council housing for him, paying out of their own pocket for his accommodation during the time that it took to get all this set-up.

He was even invited to spend Christmas with the family in their home. Afterward Aaron wrote Tracey a letter addressed ‘to the mother I never had’.

In March 2017, a year after they had first met, Aaron went very quietly and slowly back to the Wilkinson family home.

CCTV footage also captured Barley trying to break into the family home the night before and when he found it locked, he waited in the garden shed for an opportunity, which came as Peter left to take the dog for its morning walk.

Of Course, by this time the back door was left unlocked (it’s a very safe area (usually) for this short period of time. This was when Aaron Barley struck hard.

Aaron stabbed Tracey (the woman she called the mother he never had’) and her 13-year-old son, Pierce, to death. Yes, to death.

Tracey, aged 50, died at the scene and Pierce, who was just 13-years-old, died later in hospital.

This is a true life story.

There was this guy that got an MSC scholarship to study overseas. Because the sky is not always rainbowing, he needed urgent help, gracefully, his girlfriend was in a better position to bail him out but there was a mix. Let’s hear him out.


I got an MSc scholarship abroad recently, and I have been trying every possible way to get the money for my flight and other stuffs.

I needed like 1 million Naira only, I have been running around for it, only for me to ask my girlfriend who's working in a bank to help me out, at least if I can get 400,000-500,000 Naira from her, my going abroad is for the betterment of both of us, do you know she blatantly refused to help me?

Saying she has no money for such, I asked her to take a loan from her bank, I mean Banks give loans easily to their staff, she refused, saying if I go out now, I will go and marry someone else.

It's either I ignore the scholarship and stay with her or we should do a court marriage before I go and get her pregnant, then she can think of anything about helping me.

These are the conditions she's giving me. The painful thing is that this is someone I've been with for four years still counting.

I really hate myself at the moment. I don't even know what to do.

Amazon Fulfillment Center Receives $7K Fine, Hazard Alert Letters After OSHA Investigates Workplace Safety Complaint. OSHA – Occupational Safety and Health Administration.


Employer name: Amazon Fulfillment Services

Site: 50 New Canton Way, Robbinsville, New Jersey

Citation and hazard alert letters issued: On Dec. 21, 2015, the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Marlton Area Office issued one other-than-serious citation.

On Dec. 30, 2015, one ergonomic-related hazard-alert letter was issued. Additionally, OSHA issued a medical-related hazard-alert letter on Jan. 7, 2016.

Investigation findings: OSHA’s investigation began July 1, 2015, in response to a complaint alleging recordkeeping violations; employees exposed to workplace hazards including fall, noise, electrical and amputation hazards; and the lack of personal protective equipment.

OSHA investigators cited Amazon Fulfillment Services with the other-than-serious citation for not recording 26 instances of work-related injuries and illnesses on the required OSHA 300 logs.

Amazon received hazard-alert letters because the company exposed employees to ergonomic risk factors including stress from repeated bending at the waist and repeated exertions, and standing during entire shifts up to 10 hours, four days a week and sometimes including mandatory overtime shifts.

Also, the on-site medical unit provided medical care beyond what is allowed by their licensing and certification, without the supervision of a board certified qualified medical professional licensed to practice independently.

The employer has 15 business days from receipt of the citation and proposed penalty to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA’s area director, or contest the findings before the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.

Proposed penalty: $7,000

Quote: “Failure to properly record occupational illnesses and injuries is hazardous to workers. The lack of accurate data can mask patterns of injuries and illnesses that could help uncover conditions with the potential of putting workers at risk,” said Paula Dixon-Roderick, director of OSHA’s Marlton Area Office.

“In addition to keeping accurate records, Amazon should address the potential dangers identified in the hazard-alert letters to ensure the safety and health of its fulfillment center employees.” – Source.



Amazon Becomes Deadly

Not only that Amazon was listed on the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health’s “dirty dozen” list of most dangerous places to work in US which was as of April 2018, their inclusion on the list came due to the company’s pattern of unsafe working conditions.

Here is a true story from one who had worked there 4 years ago.

“I was a manager at Amazon. The unsafe conditions in that place are staggering. I had just finished an internship at a forensic engineering firm, so I was hyper aware of regulations and safe practices.

I complained verbally to the people above me about a specific problem, but nothing was done. Finally, I put that shit in writing and sent it to my boss, his boss, and his boss. It was ignored. I did not get one response.

A few days later, an incident occurred where someone broke their foot because of this safety concern. I mentioned this at the daily meeting and said how I had sent an email addressing this concern but did not get any response.

2 weeks later I was terminated” – N. S.

You might want to ask why this guy didn’t sue Amazon. Well, reasons based known to him, but it is interesting to know that in almost every instance in the USA, injured workers can’t sue their employer for those injuries.

How and why?

Because of what is called “worker’s comp”. It protects the employer from lawsuits and ensures there’s a system in place for employees to be compensated.

I am writing to you in order to make someone understand that it’s good to appreciate our partners despite their flaws. I am writing so we can all see the little devil called pride.

The Question at the end of the day will be, is it advisable to involve ego and third party in our union? Let’s see.



The fight to manage humility in marriage as a girl from a rich home takes more than a mere line of I can do it.

Just like talking is cheap, building your marriage or containing with pride is cheap unless we admit that we really need to assess ourselves and not give a damn of what people think of us. Why?

Not only that pride is a relationship killer, or the many stories of my pride is ruining many marriages, fact is, when the fruit of prides sprouts, we will be the ONLY one to bear all the aftermath effects.

In spite of all these, why then is humility in marriage not worn as a garment?

I am 32 years of age.

My ex-husband and I dated for 6 years.

We were best of friends.

I waited until he completed college and started work.

My family and his family then met.

We got married and had a son. (7 years old now).

My husband was short tempered at times but our problems started when I wanted to make him feel he couldn’t control me.

Every time we argued, I would pack my bags, go to my family and explain.

My sisters would phone my husband and shout at him.

If he was controlling me I would always dare him that if he wished, he could divorce me.

I never wanted divorce.

I just had pride and I never wanted to look like a loose woman in his eyes.

One day I pushed him so hard that for the first time he beat me and locked me outside.

I went to my family, my family took him to the police, every time I looked like I was being abused!

But to be honest, I used to abuse my husband emotionally.

He was arrested and detained.

I was asked by his family to withdraw the case.

I felt that what I was doing was wrong.

My husband was never a violent man, he did what he did because I pushed him to the wall of which he openly knelt down and apologized.

I withdrew the charge, and we reconciled.

After three months, I packed my bags after a small issue and he remained alone.

After two days, I received a call that he was in the hospital.

My family told me that I shouldn’t go there because it would look like I was begging him and my sisters believed he was feigning the illness.

All this time, people felt sorry for me like I was the one being abused.

He spent a week in the hospital, after he came out, I just received a divorce summon.

I wanted to say no to divorce, but because I felt this pride, I wanted him to change his mind and beg me.

I called him and said he would get the divorce because I lived like I was in hell.

When we went to court, I wanted to make him pay, so I told the court that I needed his properties to be shared.

To my surprise he openly told the court that whatever he and I acquired together should be given to me, all he wanted was divorce.

We were divorced in 2009 July.

Now, my husband is married, whilst l am here wasted!

My family members are gossiping about me.

I depend on what my ex-husband gives to my son for survival.

I know I wasted my marriage.

I am here telling all wives that they should be careful how they get advice.

Don’t be cheated, don’t entertain family interference in your marriage my dear reader.

Even my young sisters are much more respected than me.

Those who encouraged me to get divorced are always teasing and bad mouthing me.

Please ladies, be vigilant in your marriage.

I bet It wasn’t because the Pakistani waiter Rozi Khan had never heard of the Game of Thrones talk less of seeing his other self in Tyrion Lannister.

The 25-year-old Khan resembles actor Peter Dinklage, which is one of the main characters in the HBO famous “Game of Thrones”

What really happened?

A woman who was out on a hype got injured which eventually meant she needed help. Gladly, the Phoenix fire crew was called and there you have it, they managed to get the woman in their rescue basket but she was there spinning all her life out.

I do believe that leaving her there would have been better than the imbalance she will be facing even when they arrive at the hospital

The funnies part is that the helicopter flew away with her still strapped in the rescue basket. Lol, and pathetic.

How This Could Have Been Avoided

It would happen every time. With hoisting like this you are supposed to have a guy on the ground with a rope connected to the basket by a quick release to prevent it from spinning.

You can also avoid this by getting some forward motion in the Hell before it starts spinning. Once it starts spinning you are in trouble though, forward speed would have to be pretty fast to stop it once started.

We were all elated with the news that my dad bought a vehicle. The joy or happiness didn’t last as our expectation was far behind the real deal.

Well, the vehicle was no doubt one of the Mercedes Benz E Classes. But what model, exactly? Turns out it was a 3rd or 4th hand Mercedes Benz E Class 1961-1968 model.

It will sound ridiculous but the truth is, after that week and the next, till this day, I knew nothing that happened to it. Maybe it was sold out because mom really didn’t like it. Uhhh.

But my dad tried a lot, which means he was a legend, right? Here is another reason he was a legend.

In 2001, he went in again for another Mercedes Benz E Class. This time, it was the Mercedes Benz E Class 1975-86. It quite made a lot of sense but he was a true legend of Peugeot products (Peugeot 504).

Because the Mercedes-Benz E-Class was a range of executive cars which was manufactured by German automaker Mercedes-Benz in various engine and body configurations, everyone in the 90’s wanted to be identified with it, meaning, if you had no Mercedes-Benz, all you needed to do was to hide your face. Well, I feel like am still young for marriage. My only concern is "I should stop acting like his wife" – Queen, said (not her real name).

So I have been with this guy for over 8 years now, something that seems awkward in this generation of 1 to 3 years or “I am out” relationship.

The same thing happened a second time the day after I posted that, so I went along with the suggestion of filming myself while I sleep, and did that starting just over a week ago whenever I napped during the day/evening.

Long story short, it clearly is my brother, I’ve got him doing it on film twice and that’s without even filming myself at night.

As weird or bizarre as it sounds, it turns out that a beautiful mom’s shopping trip ended with her being busted by the police wherefore she was jailed after a young child called 911 to say that he and six other kids had been left in a hot car by themselves. � NEVER.


FACTS ABOUT THE EVENT
A Police department known as Charles County deputies received the call just after 1 p.m. on Friday. When they answered the phone, it turned out it was a lad. With expectations (from the police) of what he might say, the child told a 911 dispatcher he did not know where they were.

While the kid did not intend something bad, the authorities had to go in for a search. At the end of the event, they were able to trace the call to a mall parking lot in St. Charles, Maryland, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

According to NbcNews, among the seven children, ages 2 to 4, were found in the vehicle, which had its windows rolled up. According to Authorities, the kids had been left unattended for at least 20 minutes.


After the officers helped the children out of the vehicle, they were attended to as it seemed they sustained measures of injuries.

According to WJLA, the kids were “scared” and “sweaty.” Temperatures in the area climbed up to around 80 degrees on Friday. Authorities believe the 4-year-old used a phone left in the car to call for help, according to the outlet.


THE LAW BREACHED?
“It is against the law to leave a child under the age of 8 unattended inside a motor vehicle if the caregiver is out of sight of the child unless a reliable person at least 13-years-old remains with the child,” the sheriff’s office said.

“It is also dangerous to leave anyone, including pets, inside a motor vehicle especially as outside temperatures become warmer. The temperature inside a parked car can quickly rise to extremely high and even fatal levels in a short period of time.”

The story of the 37-year-old mom was different when arrived back at the car about 10 minutes after police. The woman, who is the mother of two of the children and was babysitting the others, was arrested and charged with confinement of children inside a motor vehicle.

Authorities said they were not releasing the woman’s name to protect the children’s identities.

In case it seemed hash, the frustrating thing is that additional charges are pending against the woman, the sheriff’s office said. Perhaps, why she left the pet also.
