Never mind though...just random questions.

I wanted to truly confirm if indeed you're actually new, or you're just another oldie pulling our legs.

Luul: Oh I see.
Nice to meet you. Am from Somalia. Am assuming your Nigerian?
Well your assumptions are correct...I'm a Nigerian.

You joined NL today, and you seem to find your feet so quickly. Most people spend days, months, weeks and even years before they make their first post.

I'm hoping you'll have a great time here.

Caracta: For those of you staying with your parents, how do you feel when they wake you up at midnight to advise you or talk to you, especially the Moms?

For the married ones cheesy, how do you feel when your spouse wakes you up to discuss with you at midnight?

How often do you experience this?

Is it fair?
Well...it depends on the importance of the matter you're about to discuss.

If its something of great importance, then I believe its fair; but if its just another endless episode discussion, then it would be rude for your spouse to interrupt your sleep.

PoliticsSoldiers Detain Oke, Commissioner, Others. by CrazyMan(op): 4:14am On Oct 21, 2012
A team of soldiers arrested and detained the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olusola Oke, at Igbotako town in company with hefty men in four jeeps and two hillux vans around 6:30 am on Saturday.

Our correspondent learnt that when the soldiers accosted Oke and his men at the Igbotako Motor Park, they could not explain their mission in the area.

Oke was said to have been treated with courtesy but the soldiers were said to have been tough on his men as they were allegedly asked to sit on bare floor for over one hour.

The PDP candidate was said to have been left off the hook around 7:13 am after he had made phone calls to ‘certain quarters’.

A source among the soldiers told our correspondent that Oke was arrested because he defied the ‘restriction’ order of the INEC and police.

Oke, who confirmed the development to journalists on Saturday evening, said, “It was true that the soldiers stopped me at Igbotako motor park and delayed us for sometime before they released us.”

Meanwhile, the police in Ondo State on Saturday denied an allegation by the Action Congress of Nigeria that the Commissioner for Special Duties, Niran Sule, and some other persons had been arrested for alleged possession of guns and ballot papers and boxes.

ACN had in a statement by its spokesman, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, alleged that “the Ondo State Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Niran Sule, and the Chairman of Owo Council, Mr. Akinrogbe, have been arrested and stripped naked after they were found with six AK-47 guns in the early hours of Saturday. They have been whisked to Akure for interrogation.”

However, the spokesman for the state police command, Mr. Aremu Adeniran, explained that he had contacted the Commissioner for Police, Ondo State, Mr. Muhammad Indabawa; Owo area commander; and Owo Divisional Police Officer and they all denied the report.

Aremu said, “Your people (journalists) have been calling me on the matter; but my boss, the CP, Owo Area Commander and the DPO Owo had all denied it when I called them.

“The implication of this is that the arrest, if any, was not carried out by the police and we are not aware of such incident.”

Also, the Public Relations Officer of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Akure, Lt.-Col. Emmanuel Onoja, said the Army were not aware of the purported arrests.

I won't be surprised if INEC declears ACN winner.

I would therefore suggest that we keep our fingers crossed till the main results comes out.

You're right.

I guess pyguru dealt seriously with him (hence my first post) before justwise uncovered his dubiousness.

I just don't know what people would gain in from fraud. We say Nigeria is bad, whereas we're the ones making it bad.

@topic...
Our parents do not have any right to choose whom we marry but the truth remains that they have a responsibility to make sure we don't make the wrong choice.

They have a right to advise us on certain qualities to look out for in the choice of a life partner because they've been in that institution before us. They may have made certain mistakes which they wouldn't want their children to make.

And if you're patient enough to listen to them, there's no way you wouldn't find something good in what they'll say.

Well...when you're living under your parents roof, they treat you anyhow and disregard your decision despite your age.

I would therefore suggest that you look for your own accommodation, so as to earn some respect from them.

Good luck.

ogoamaka99: @crazyman,
Thanks for your effort. However all the above verses you cited are not talking about tithe. You need to have an understanding of the real truth about tithe before you start writing on it.
Pastor Kun: Bros in that case, can you show us any scripture addressed to christians talking about tithes? Or any scripture that says tithes should be from monetary income?

Christianity EtcRe: OOPS. What Is This Bible Verse Saying? by CrazyMan(m): 3:08pm On Oct 19, 2012
plaetton: I quoted a simple bible verse. Obviously you had no explaination for it, rather eat humble pie and admit so, you decided to show me case studies of Yahweh and moses and then you filled in what Yahweh should have known , etc.
You are the one who should feel ashamed for yourself.

You atheists piss me off at times.

You provided a bible passage that looked confusing to you, and asked for an explanation, I provided similar passages in line with what you gave, so as to make that which looks confusing to you easy.

But you said no I must explain your original passage.

Now tell me, who amongst us should eat your humble pie?

plaetton: I dont know how, in your mind, the moses assage somehow proves that Yahweh knows everything.
I dont mean to be impolite, but I scuff at that type of convoluted logic.
I showed a particular instance where yahweh's omni-whatever is called into question, and your response to that was to try to prove, by conjecture alone, that yahweh was omni-whatever in another situation with moses and adam, and therefore..............?
That's exactly what you came here to do...scuff.

If you came with an open mind to learn as you claimed, you wouldn't drag this conversation to this length.

But since you came to scuff, I'm not surprised.
