Iflyhigh: Hi everyone,
Am actually new here and seriously need some advice concerning my intended trip to the US. I travelled in 2013 for a conference with a 2years b1/b2 business/conference visa. Afterwards,i renewed it in 2015 through drop-box and they gave me another 2years but i did not travel due to the workload in my company at that time. My visa expired in this month of march 2017 and i decided to renew it to enable me attend this year's conference of which i have been issued another 2years visa. The issue now is that i am pregnant and am suppose to give birth after the conference. so i am planning for the conference and delivery after the conference. but at the same time am afraid hearing all manner of things that happens at the US point of entry. I dont want to camouflage or hide my pregnancy and because i renewed through dropbox i did not have the priviledge to indicate am pregnant and want to deliver after conference, though I have my medical arrangements made already. payments done, appointment with my genea is 4weeks before the conference. my doctor and i have been having correspondence. My question is, 1). Having issued a business/conference visa, and am traveling 4weeks before the conference to start my routine until the conference, what is the possibility of me gaining entry? 2). Pls what do i do to increase my chances? Please helppp! I do not see any problems here, you are good to go. Just have all the neccessary documents with you as you travel. |

cutieb: Hello, I have been a silent follower and also a newbie here..pls my quetion is this..those that are usually turned back at POE who pays for the flight back to Nigeria just curious to know...will share my own experience when i cross the first bridge(visa interview)I am hoping and praying it goes well for me and hubby...I didn't apply for my 2 kids...will apply later.. another question is can one use B2 visa to travel for vacation afterwards (i.e after successful delivery in US)? Hello,as per your first question, I am not sure who pays for the flight back but you are definitely not to pay for it on the spot. I guess they just use the return leg of ur ticket if its a return ticket and if its a one way ticket, then it may be the US govt paying for it. 2. You can use your visa for vacation after child birth. |

ladee1: If I have my mind made up I won't be here asking questions, we are seeking clarification where there are grey areas, it's confusing cos the WIC office in texas requested for details of the family member am staying with and how much she earns etc. I remember how change of intent letter was the only saving grace for the Nigerian I boarded flight with, matters like this should be discussed so others can learn and do what is right #notmakingconclusionorcastingblames# Thanks Most of us that gave birth in US also had to deal with this very issue of WIC. Thats because those at the hospital in US find it hard to believe that it will affect you in any way,so they keep pushing and cajoling you to get it thinking they are helping you. Sister, pls pick race cos you are the one that will suffer it in the end. On the contrary though, its possible we here are just being insecure...if you try it and it does not affect you negatively in future, pls do well to share on this thread to keep the ministry moving. Congrats! |

Bootyliciousjay: You know dear, you really didn't have to go all defensive. She was asking why a change of intent letter was now frowned upon and somewhat discouraged ( something along those lines). All you said in reply to her was that she should tell the truth when applying (that already kinda implied that she didn't tell the truth, it didn't really answer her question). No one is/was encouraging not being truthful if applying while pregnant.... I was only viewing the change of intent letter from a broader perspective. Anyway, that's about that. My post wasn't to diss you in any way. Hello, if only you would check the post i replied to well, you would see that she asked a question which i specifically put in BOLD, and then i answered that question. I didnt post a reply to the whole of her post, i only replied the part i put in bold. |

Bootyliciousjay: She MAY not have lied when applying. She may have genuinely had travel plans before something came up. I mean, don't we sometimes make concrete plans to do stuff and then something else happens? I don't think it's fair to just assume that EVERYONE lied when applying for a visa. Eg. A person plans to travel then gets news of the death of someone or something that totally ruins the travel plans and probably has serious cost implications ( we do know that travelling these days ain't cheap anymore). Then say after like 4 months the person gets a positive pregnancy test and toys with the idea of having the baby abroad. 4 months plus say 6 months gives some time to save up for the birth trip... That's just a possible scenario. Doesn't mean the person lied when applying. Or is the person supposed to forsee a pregnancy 6 months ahead, apply for B2 when there's no pregnancy, have correspondence with doctors and hospitals with an empty belly? In all, there are different circumstances in life. Let's not be so quick to call a person a liar. My humble thoughts. When i say speak the truth, i didnt say she was lieing...I only meant if u are pregnant and you are applying, declare ur pregnancy. It will save u lots of stress in the future. Do NOT infer what i did not say from what I said,PLEASE. I also got my visa for vacation but couldnt travel at the time of my travel cos i battled severe morning sickness and I went on to send the change of intent letter and travelled to have my baby. I have also just renewed my visa last week via dropbox without being called for any interview. Even though i used a visa i got for the purpose of vacation to birth, I still SPOKE the TRUTH while applying. |

desoul: it was an oversight by the immigration officer,if not, hmmmmmm. Oh...maybe. Cos he just checked the blue passport, asked me for his Nig passport and i told him its not here, so he checked the visa and saw that its still valid till March,2017 and told us we are good to go. |

nefertitiram: Please I want to ask...
A family wants to go on holiday and the mum is pregnant. They have decided to use Doctores para ti but they want to holiday in New York, then the mum will go to el paso and await the baby.. Now when filling the form, will the kids and dad fill the NY holiday plans and mum fills el paso? IMO... I think the dad and kids should fill NY and the mum should fill El-passo, at the interview, they can go on to explain that they all will go to NY first before the mum ports to El-passo to awiat baby birth. I advise she fills el-passo so as to emphasize that her major obj in the US is the childbirth. |

Hubby is currently completing his DS 160 form to schedule an interview to witness the birth of our first child (I am in the US already staying at my cousin's place)
- "do you have any relatives in the US"? Could answer be YES as there's an option for spouse and I'm here presently. Or NO as he has no relatives either immediate or extended here. - "US contact info"? Would that be my cousin's address and contact as he'll be staying at same address. - Thirdly, is there a way I can schedule an appointment (choose a date) before submitting d DS160 form ***payment made at d bank already.
Thanks for your support ***in advance[/
1. Your cousin is your relative...so i think the answer is Yes since you still want to use his/her address 2. Yes,cousin's address 3. Its better to fill the form first before schedulling an appointment cos you will need to input the DS 160 form num while booking the appointment.

MrAwePresident: 9a Grading system Because of the importance of this point I will break it down into 3 parts
OAU as at first year in the University, especially if you are a tech student will give you 5 unit courses. Most first year students won't understand the importance of the units of a course until it's too late. Most first year students will spend more time preparing for a 1 unit course than they will spend on a 5 unit course because they don't fully understand the concept of units. Once they fail or score low in a 5 unit course there GP will need extra effort to recover. Unlike Unilag that have 3 units as the highest number of units for a first year.
9b. When a student fails a course. The F will be calculated in the GP, Even if they retake the course and score an A. The effect of the A will be like the effect of a C on their CGPA.
U. I doesn't calculate F in your GP
9c Nobody has any idea how scripts are marked or even marked at all. You can read and write all the answers you believe are the right answers but low and behold they will provide one with a surprising score and you dare not complain This point proves why a First class student of UI or Unilag will be a 2:1 student in OAU. |

trishapal: I'm not surprised at all... The closer you are to any Nigerian church alter, the more of the Pastors' messes you see. Most Nigerian Pastors are in the business for one worldly thing or the other. That's why the second coming of Christ is hardly preached on any RCCG alter (I know more about RCCG because I'm a minister there). They are all getting their rewards here on earth and they will do anything to continue... Tithes and offerings matter to them more than salvation. I say authoritatively that whenever an RCCG church organises any special Anointing/Praise/Deliverance service, the sole target is the offering. Anyone who is close to any Pastor can bear witness with me on this. If the second coming of Christ is hardly preached in ur parish, change to another parish instead of generalising. You are also a minister there, so i guess your reward is also on earth. I wonder why you are still in the ministry when you know this much. |
