How much do you have in your bank statement? if you have 1m in your fixed deposit and decide to transfer to your savings account will be money lodgement and you have to show proof of the deposit. Why will you spend about 5,508£ on a 10 day trip. The will be hard to sell to the ECO.
Did you say you have 600k in your joint savings account? How much do you and your hubby earn?
The total amount of money in both our joint savings and fixed deposit is 5,508£ (1.6m naira), 1m fixed deposit which will mature before our travel date and 600k in our savings account, and we want to spend 1,577£ on this trip.
Our total monthly income is 240k.
Our child doesn't require a visa as he was born in the US

My brother will be providing accommodation for us

Flight- 400k(I,husband and infant)1,377£
Living expenses- 58k (100£ each)
Total- 1,577£
The trip is going to be funded using our joint savings account (600k)which we both pay money into monthly from our salary and also from our joint fixed deposit investment(1million)which will mature before the travel date.Total amount of money available for the trip is 5,508£

My question is,
How do i write the amounts in the application form for each of us since we both own the account? Is it like this
Me: what is the cost to you personally? Answer- 1,577
Hubby-what is the cost to you personally? Answer- 1,577
Me- How much money do you ve for this trip? Answer-5,508£
Hubby-How much money do u ve for this trip? Answer-5,508£
Me- Is anyone other than you paying for this trip? Answer- yes
Hubby- Yes
Me-How much? Answer- will I split the amount into 2 and put 800£
Hubby- 800£

Is that how to put it?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by customised87: 2:55pm On Jun 10, 2016
Hello house,my husband, son and I are planning to attend my Elder bro's wedding in UK by Aug. I and my husband have a joint account as well as as joint fixed deposit investment which will mature before the travel date and which will be the source of fund for our trip.
How am I supposed to answer these questions?
A. What is the cost to you personally of this trip?
B. the total amount of money you have for this trip
C. Is someone other than you paying for this trip?
D. How much will they be paying towards your trip?

Am I supposed to write the same figures in I and my husband's forms? Or, will I split the total money into 2 and enter the figures in the forms?

Pls help me torchlight the matter or refer me to any one/post that has been in/addressed similar situation
Thanks

Hello house! First timer here. Pls I have a visa that expires on the 11th of september and I intend traveling on the 1st of September cos my due date is in November. I want to know if I have to apply for a visa renewal before I travel (that is before the expiration date of the visa) or I should apply for renewal  when I get to the US ( that is after the expiration of the visa)‎. Will I be allowed into the states with my almost expired visa wen my due date is in November? I need answers plsssssss
You dont have to renew your visa before travelling, you would be stamped in for 6 months regardless of when the visa will expire. You can however renew before travelling if you want to, but it is not illegal to travel on your present visa.

150k my cousin has stated in the letter that she will be sponsoring me i am in my Late 20's.my job is consistent and also well paying
Then just sponsor yourself if you have enough funds to cover the trip, this will give your application more credibility than your cousin sponsoring you. Disregard whats written in the letter(the VO may not even read it), fill the application form and state that you will be your own sponsor.

How much do u earn? Why dont you just sponsor yourself if u can? How old are you?
You saying ur hospital will sponsor u wont fly, same with your brother. Your job can serve as a tie if its a consistent and well paying one.

I've seen articles where the abroad based complain seriously and I don't want my friend to join them. You can also add dried fish, palm oil, groundnut, beans, noodles

For those with one month plus extra stay after birth, u can request for your baby American passport from the post office. Think the fee is 179. Pay extra 14 dollars to get it in two weeks.
Its not only those that have one month extra stay that use the post office o, its mainly for those who dont have a passport office in dre vicinity, they are left with only one option of requesting through the post office if they dont want to travel to another state that has a passport office.

Hi,
I am a new convert, and I am still pained didn't get to hook on before I made all my decisions, my due date is July and I booked my return ticket for exactly one month after - united airline. Now united airline is cancelling their Nigeria route by end of june, after I paid all my money for direct flight £1531 (sis had to pay from UK). Intend to change my travel date since 1 month may not be enough. United airline says it will cost $2500 to change.

Good people
1. Is/has anybody used Chi St Luke hospital Sugarland Houston
2. how long will it take me to get the SSN and US passport
3. how long will it take to get Nigeria passport
4. Nigeria passport and ETD which will be faster for me since I av just one month for every thing
5. Can anyone help me with Madam Stella or Tanko numbers or contact.

I urgently need answers before LO arrives.

thank you
Check Ozycy 's posts, she had her baby in Houston and she got all her baby's documents in 2 weeks; US passport, SSN and Nigerian visa. So, one month post delivery is enough for you.

So here's my transcript (I hope it doesn't wipe off again)

Off to secondary inspection:
Me: July 2016
CBP: okay, go have your seat
Just then another officer came out to ask if people were hungry...some raised their hands. I was too tho but I kept observing. He said okay, if you want food make sure you write your name on this list which was then passed round **for my mind! I said their Fada...sorry I mean their Dad..lol. Esu oni gba ibi ounje ti mumi. Devil get thee behind me! Make dem no deport pelzon ontop sey we chop
5mins later, I was called
CBP: how did you know about the hospital
Off to Agric: just my garlic was seized. I had all sorts..cray fish, pap, knorr chicken, garri, dried fish e.t.c.

Well, there's no big deal about Houston POE as long as you don't misrepresent. Goodluck dearies
Hehehe...that cracked me up big time!
Congrats and enjoy your stay.

Hi all. I had a baby in 2014 and processing the Nigerian visa thenseemed complicated. Got stuck at the payment page where it was compulsory to use exactly the same name on card as the name of the visa applicant. Plus I called the 3 embassies again and again without making a connection back then. Was pressed for time so I resorted to using Tanko and got in 3 days.did not mind paying the$50 diff then. However, since there are people here who have done this successfully, please help with this info
a. Does it matter the name on card used for payment?
b. How long does it actually really take to get back the passport
c.Does one get prompt responses now via telephone or email to the embassies and which one -to follow up on an application?
Thanks

PS: just arrived in Dallas but POE was very uneventful so transcript will bore you in the spirit of giving back. The only thing was I was asked a question which I have always wondered what response to give " why don't you have your baby in Nigeria, why the United States?

My heart leaped initially but I just responded that I was told it is not illegal to have a baby in US so I chose that option. we moved on from there.
A. Yes it matters. You can buy a money order and send to innovate instead of using ur card .
B. it could take from 2-3weeks
C. No, they dont usually pick up.

Thats why you shouldnt do it yourself if you dont have lots of time. I did my baby's own myself cos i stayed more tha 6 weeks in the US after giving birth but I wouldnt ever try it again cos i dont intend staying up to that amount of time for subsequent missionary journeys

Thanks sir, definitely d employer is going to give her leave letter states start date and returning to work from d leave, as have said b4 that d only asset she has is landed property. Is that enough? If not what other things she can get now apart from d ones u mention as I want to put in for her in August. Thanks once again sir.
I think she stands a better chance sponsoring herself, the amount she needs should be like 300k and since she has 1m in her account, its perfect. She should collect letters from her employer and you should also write a letter to say you will be the one to cover accommodation and feeding.

Good evening dear naira landers. Please I need your honest advice pls help a sister out
I applied for a US visa in early March for an office training( supposed to happen in May) and I was given( I work for a US owned-multinational
First week of May I had to go for a more important training in Europe so I couldn't make the US training
Third week of May I discover am 7 weeks Preggy ( due in late December)
During visa application I was not pregnant...( just to clarify)
This is my third and last baby and I want to give birth in the US. Because my visa was obtained based on official purpose and not vacation even though it's B1/B2 what should be my best course of action.
Will letter of intent work in this case because it wasn't my fault that my manager decided I shouldn't go to the US again even after obtaining my visa.
Please note that I have never been to the US before..and the story above is 100 percent true
Is it better I take my chances at Houston poe in december( I have family there) or I need to use the visa for vacation at least once before I go and give birth.
Your candid advice will be appreciated...God bless you
I suggest you go ahead and make preparations to birth, contact a Dr, hospital, sort out accommodation etc. I think a letter from your office to state why you couldnt make the US training should suffice at the POE, you may like to avoid Houston POE though. Use a less difficult POE and YES, you should write a letter to inform the embassy(IMO). If you can, go for a vacation before December but it will still amount to you not using the visa for the reason it was given.

Better health care of course compared to Nigeria if the UK will not open her doors to her just yet. She can't varnish herself into the UK where she would have birthed at little or no cost as it is now! Paying for same in the US is their decision because of the aforementioned. So?
Well yh...i wish her the best!

@ladyG, yes but I had applied some years ago to the UK and they didn't give me, I currently work in HR with a small firm that pays 200k monthly and I don't have a UK visa or permit. this is my first baby hence the reason MIL is insisting we do yankee and she and my hubby can come as she plans to be there around my due date.

I wanted to go and give birth and return here and then start processing the UK right to family life visa and that takes forever so now what do you advise cos I really want to submit the application but wanna do it right this time.
MadameU:
EvaMD I'm curious as to why you want to birth in the US? If your reasons are just the healthcare you would receive then no problems, but if you have your eyes on the blue passport, I suggest you just let it go, your child by birth would be a British citizen regardless of place of birth, (cos of paternity).
And with the trend these days at the US embassy, you may be asked why not birth in the UK where you have family ties n all.
And don't be carried away by the trends I would take the red passport over the blue anyway......
Just my thoughts all the best in your quest dearie. Be safe.
You would definitely be asked why you want to birth in the US and not the UK where your husband is a citizen of, afterall like madameU said, your child is a UK citizen regardless of wherever he is born. So, the greatest issue here is how to convince the VO that u are truly just going to birth. You may give it a trial. Guess what? Mercy and Favour could just speak for you.

I would advise not to get it. My uncle also pestered me about it but i insisted its still like medicaid and would jeopardise my future application. Its called foodstamps/WIC(??), and like medicaid, its for low income earners in the US. They are given the stamps weekly(?) and they take it to the store to get milk, fruits, vegetables and sorts for their little children. I cannot ultimately say whether it is recorded and the embassy has access to its records, but i wouldn't be the scape goat to find out (could be the hard way).

Good morning house, please I have an urgent question. I got a naija visa for my daughter last year, on arrival in naija, she was stamped in for one month. I was hoping to get her a naija passport before traveling but the doctor just advised that I travel as soon as possible for health reasons and I would be unable to get her the naija passport before we leave. Hope this won't be an issue with naija immigration since we do not have naija passport for her and her us passport has only one month stamped on it. I would really appreciate response from the house. Thanks in advance.
chloe7:
those immigration guys here in naija can want to give you headache, you can do 64pages for her and tell them you want it same day but you just might have to pay more, it's better to avoid the stress before flying out since they only stamped her for one month into Nigeria. Just try the passport agencies in alausa and ikoyi they usually do same day urgent passports
Well said @chloe, ur best bet is to go for the 64pages cos thats readily available at the moment and the price difference is 5k-7k, ,you will get the passport the same day or the next day max. you will encounter issues with those immigration guys if ur LO doesn't have the Naija passport.

I just joined nairaland and i have been reading a lot, this thread as given me hope again. I am 32weeks pregnant and am already in the U.S in my sister's place in California. Got in about 2weeks ago and i have been trying to get a very reasonable hospital, but everyone around here are asking for my arm and leg. Starting from 15,000 and above for the hospital bill and the OB. Been so worried, until i spoke to a friend who told me to go on nairaland and register, which i did and i thank God. I have been reading since then and came across a post from Cutelass saying she is also in California and her hospital bill and OB is less than 5000. Awwwwwwwww please i really need ur help, I stay in Vacaville, 7hrs away from St Francis hospital, please how do i get to contact you. So u can put me tru on what to do. Thank u
Hi, she may be busy with her baby and may not read ur post on time. Seeing that you are 32 weeks gone already, why not contact the Dr and Hospital, register and book an appointment with them. You should then check for accommodation to rent around there for a few weeks till you give birth and travel back to ur sister's place after giving birth.

PS: check bisoye82 's post for accommodation details.

Exactly, if only more men would think like this... But NO, they will say the wife is using their glory to shine and is taking away dre manhood...irrational way of thinking. When u r married to a celebrity, you can never expect things to be same with ordinary couples. They have money and fame but do not have TIME. So, u either choose to be with a celebrity and have all the money and fame or choose to be ordinary and have ur TIME.
