PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Of Anambra State Is Working, At Least On Roads by CyberG: 2:13am On Apr 26, 2013
Does anyone know what state this road is in (Imo or Anambra), and if it's a state gov't awarded contract?

I'm not too pleased with the quality of construction i'm seeing; even looks like they're building guttering as an afterthought; though i'm mighty pleased with the tidy, lush-green and wooded countryside evident as the camera makes it's journey.

You see it's not everything we should blame the federal gov't for; if this road is poorly constructed as seems to be the case (because of awarding the contract based on nepotism or to reward a loyal party member), then it's us that would suffer the consequences and nobody else.

Video courtesy of C.Ezeani:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDjTjI2iyUI
SMH at the kind of road a so called state government constructed! Where is the drainage system? And th little houses have rusted brown aluminum roofs? Yet, these same people cry loud about Western cities built since the 1700s saying the roofs are brown and rusted but this so called best state in eastern Nigeria fall Naija hand big time o! And how come the place is deserted? Forged population data? Or the people have all moved the West and North that same ibos complain about everyday?
PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria Really Unsafe? by CyberG: 1:59am On Apr 26, 2013
OAM4J: Wrong! Many are more in touch than you can imagine. Its just that exposure has thought them to know better. They hardly ever go to bed thinking someone is coming to rob them, or imagine robbers waiting on the road while on a journey, or being kidnapped on a broad daylight for heavy ransom. In the event of a crime, upon dialing 911 they expect police to show up in less than 30mins, failure upon which someone will lose his/her job. Also most of the crimes are not swept under the carpet and left unsolved.

I doubt you are more passionate and patriotic about Nigeria than me. Telling the truth and desiring a better country is not unpatriotic.
Good one! But kindly change that 30 minutes to something more realistic with the crime! If someone broke into your house while you are away, and you call the cops afterwards, they might come in 30 mins, ask questions, take fingerprints, etc. However, if you dial 911 in an emergency, they will be there faster than you or anyone else can possibly help you e.g. threat to life involving weapons, an accident, etc! Make that 30 mins 5 mins or less and in fact for serious situations, you can expect several troopers showing up in few minutes and drawing their weapons if need be to put down th criminal, armed threat! Some few weeks ago, 5 troopers and a supervisor showed up at a McDonalds close to my house, you'd think someone got killed to see so many cops at once! On another day, and I witnessed this, up to 6 cops showed up because apparently a customer tried to spend a fake $100 bill to buy food and the server apparently called the cops! When will Nigerians experience security, not all the bullshit looneys like insincere9gerian, rosskijke, bullionaire and co who have access to government crumbs call security?

Continuing from previous post...here are just pieces of information gleaned from the internet with references for your further reading. I am not sure you ever wrote any non-Nigerian exam but for those who wrote SAT, how many scored 1590 / 1600? That is 99.4%! That exam was most likely maths and English, does that sound like a person who dropped out of school because he was intellectually deficient? FYI, I wrote that same exam after high school, went on to study one of the best courses in one of Nigeria's best universities and building a career that I completely love and paid well, yet I am not in even the middle of my career yet! My point, remove people like Gates, Soyinka, etc who are way too bright to be struggling to obtain a degree in order to just barely feed themselves!

===

Gates graduated from Lakeside School in 1973. He scored 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT[27] and enrolled at Harvard College in the autumn of 1973.[28] While at Harvard, he met Steve Ballmer, who later succeeded Gates as CEO of Microsoft.
The Poker Room in Currier House at Harvard University, where Gates and Allen formed Microsoft

In his sophomore year, Gates devised an algorithm for pancake sorting as a solution to one of a series of unsolved problems[29] presented in a combinatorics class by Harry Lewis, one of his professors. Gates's solution held the record as the fastest version for over thirty years;[29][30] its successor is faster by only one percent.[29] His solution was later formalized in a published paper in collaboration with Harvard computer scientist Christos Papadimitriou.[31]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Gates

Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955. He was born into a family with a rich history of business, politics, and community service. Gates’ great-grandfather was the state legislator and mayor, and Gates’ grandfather was the vice-president for the national bank. William H. Gates, Bill Gates’ father, was the prominent, Seattle defensive lawyer. Mary Maxwell Gates, Bill Gates’ mother, was the school teacher and the chairperson for the United Way Charity.

During his elementary school life, he surpassed all of his classmates, especially in Science and Math. As soon as his parents noticed his intelligence, they enrolled Gates to Lakeside School, private school. This school was known for its intense academic environment. Also this school first introduced Gates to the computers. Bill Gates said, “When I was thirteen, my school (Lakeside School) installed a teletype machine that connected in downtown Seattle. From that point on, my friends and I spent most of our free time writing programs and figuring out how to make the computer do interesting things.”

biolabee: Interestingly i agree with you on the eval of the child to help identify latent abilities which a parent would not be able to adjudge

Parents shd not look at a child with the same eyes
Some children are not meant to be book genuises like their parents are
Some kids develop late and have interest in other things that their parent dont care about

If Leonardo da Vinci's parent had stifled his creativity, we would not have his drawings today
Ditto Bill Gates who left school to pursue his dream
Wole Soyinka was adjudged third class and yet hes a Nobel Laureate
Tolu Elumelu founded a modern financial empire

Some people are latent genius but dyslexic and supposed cant read (but they do in their own way)

This is an illustrious list of people who im sure would have been found puzzling by their parents and peers in the growing days
If dyslexia is key to being in this group, maybe its not a bad thing to have cheesy
You are probably not smart enough or read about Bill Gates to even have put him in your post. I hate to say it but don't be silly: Billion Gates was far too smart that it was a waste of time to have to study Computer Science for 4 years in Harvard!! Do you have a clue scores you need to even be admitted into Harvard or study computer science where your maths skills (further maths) must be way higher than average? Don't ridicule yourself with ignorance.

If only our security operatives get the kind of support from the communities where terrorists have thrived in Nigeria, the security challenges would have been subdued.
Their prime minister is not a retardeen, clueless like your Jonathan Goatluck. The people do not need to lick the ass of any politician or retardeen to feed themselves and guarantee a good life like you do in Nigeria. There are no 40 lapdogs like insincere9jarian, goodex and looneys like you to spin every goof of the prime minister like you do in Nigeria. There is power 24X7 to charge the phones and watch cable tv to know what is going on, free newspapers, a reliable police force not like the ones in which BH has penetrated including the prime ministerial cabinet like that of your retardeen in Nigeria. The list is endless but when you foo.lish Nigerians stop defending and promoting uselessly poor leadership, you can think of comparing yourselves to Ghana not Canada. Them they try for that part of the world...

It seems ibos have been swindled by the ijaw fisherman retardeen Ebelechukwu Azikiwe? He promised the Niger bridge, ports, etc, how many has be completed so far? To make matters worse, ibos have borne the brunt of the BH menace more than any other peoples in Nigeria but if that was not enough, shouldn't there be prosecution and convictions of the terrorists to bring some sort of closure for the people who lost their family members? Till date, your devoted retardeen is yet to prosecute one terrorist and get a conviction! Now he has already bought off all the ohaneze team with 5 B (only)! Yet, watch, ibos are the most likely to members of the 40 lapdog team, see the list: insincere9gerian (Enugu), afam4eava (super bigot and mod), goddex, taharfqa, rossijke, etc, etc! They should ask their parents what happen doing the Biafra war.it is only a fool that will call igbos a coward. Even those who has never been to the east before also claimed to be an igbo, in other to make caricature of them. Nonsense
If you think so highly of ibos who you know lost the war, and your comment about children asking their parents what the Biafrain war was about, how much MORE highly would you regard the armies (and people) who brought such fear and destruction to iboland during the war? Biko, be rational here, but I doubt if you can. There may be nothing wrong in crediting your biafran heroes but even your biafran heroes will salute and genuflect to the soldiers who were superior in combat and won the battles that brought the war to an end!
PoliticsRe: MASSOB: Try Uwazuruike For Treason, Face Hell by CyberG: 12:40am On Apr 23, 2013
EUROFIGHTERR: Flying the Biafran flag shouldn't necessarily mean that we do not believe in Nigeria. Afterall haven't u seen Nigerians flying the American flag? Infact, the Igbos believe in Nigeria more than others because we try to bring development wherever we find ourselves and try to make we we are 'our home.' I was not trying to say that Southern Nigeria must one but I strongly believe that if the SE, SW & SS should be united, we could be much better than being separate countries just like South Korea. I don't see any sense in all the quarelling between Igbos & Yorubas when infact, Col Fajuyi had to give his life in an attempt to save his Igbo guest who was Aguiyi Ironsi. What friendship & bond!! Even in the SE, there are those that believe we should all go our separate ways but I beg to differ on that. Ordinarily, noone would even want Nigeria to break up but it's just that the northerners are getting too aggressive especially with the drive to force sharia on everyone.
I will respond to this topic later but I had to chip in that although you sound gracious in your statements but most of the Ibos on this forum are NOT gracious at all! The demean Col. Fajuyi's sacrifice and danger to his own life in order not to abandon his C-in-C, boss and abuse him till today. If Nigeria wants to divide, so be it but the character of the ibos on this forum makes it expedient that they should just leave the SW as soon as the country divides! I am sure the northerners do not want them either and neither do the Niger Deltans. The seed of ungratefulness, constant abuse and insult of other Nigerians has come full circle and I am very sure, ibo land will be much worse off after the break-up. They will need access to the sea which they can't get - being landlocked will be a big problem. Their land is too small, no leadership, etc.

PoliticsRe: APC Shops For Presidential Candidate In 2015. by CyberG: 1:48pm On Apr 21, 2013
LightSon: What are they looking for? If they want a strong candidate against PDP in 2015, they should go for Rochas Okorocha. He did it in Imo State and Imo people are happy for it. Rochas can do it again for Nigeria in 2015!

http://tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/component/k2/item/10013-apc-shops-for-presidential-candidate-eyes-tinubu-kwankwaso-buhari-may-dump-tambuwal
You people are desperate to be president so it is easy to see why you folks keep mentioning Rochas as presidential candidate although he has been governor for only 2+ years and never held any other leadership position before then. In one word, he in inexperienced and Nigeria does not need another learner IT student as president like the retardeen. Let him show that he can do in 8 years, do better than other governors and prove he is the best first before he thinks he can contest the presidency.

That said, his 2 years so far and achievement is widely contested and unconvincing! Many people in the ground disagree he is doing something worthy of being a candidate for national office. The recent sack of his deputy and funds traced to Lebanon for a contract paid in full without the work done suggests he knows something more. Let him turn Imo into a city like Ibadan or Eko not just hotels, 100 feeding allowance for kids, etc before you mention him as candidate. Plus, why would the brains behind APC even consider someone that his people will not vote for since the retardeen has already received their endorsement? Even ojukwu the "best" from the SE won only 3.3% when he contested for presidency.

You are telling the message to the wrong recipient. Go to Aso Rock and tell your retardeen whom you guys voted for 99.9%. PoliticsRe: Acn National Convention In Lagos (Pictures) by CyberG: 5:39am On Apr 21, 2013
naptu2: We are about to get to an interesting point in the process. The law says that the merger must be approved by conventions of each of the merging parties. I'm very interested in knowing how Rochas Okorocha will organise a convention of APGA to approve the merger.
Naptu, go and read Tinubu's original speech posted on NL, he did not mention APGA at all. I remember he mentioned ACN, CPC, ANPP and "other ....". You know these people are too smart to get caught with adding a name of a party they are not sure off. Remember, the original ideas had nothing from APGA, they may join of their volition, but not a requirement. I am certain that most governors and certainly Tinubu and Buhari get a solid update about what is happening in different states in Nigeria more than we read on NL. APGA may not be stated as a merging party and that will be a better thing really for what is point of bringing a divided party into something you have laboured for over a few years to build? The first time they attempted a merger with CPC and it didn't work out, I am sure they learned a few lessons which they must have brought into this new merger arrangement.

I wish anyone or party trying to make a difference positively well in Nigeria and APC in this case. In the final analysis, it will be up to Nigerians to choose. If APC keep most of the states in the SW and win a couple more in other regions, that will be some progress and success already. If they stay strong like they have done in the SW and can make other states better than under PDP, it will not be long before people kick out the PDP. In the end, as Nigerians lay their bed, so will they lie on it. I will only come here to read of their positive news or horrible news and complaints which has been the norm under PDP.
