haha. those things nearly caused me an accident one night.
climbed inside my trouser at night when I was cruising. I nearly had a heart attack. parked and flew out the car like Hussein bolt. come see where I dey dance skelewu for road because of cockroach.
bought sniper the next day and dealt them lethal doses for three weeks straight.
never seen them again since. saw their hatched eggs in my spare wheel well, that's how I knew that one dose won't eliminate them.

I don't know how you arrived at the conclusion on faulty TC but as others have mentioned, a number of other things can cause your car's symptoms.

Does the level of ATF on the dipstick get very high when cold?
Does revving the engine a little before putting gear selector in drive reduce the engagement time of 3 minutes?

Please answer these questions and schedule a professional transmission diagnostic scan.

Timing is likely off. Just one teeth off from normal point can cause a lot of problems. Get a competent mechanic to check and reset the timing.

Move from 'D' position downwards to next position, pause a little then repeat until you reach the last position 'L' or 'D1'.

The Mechanic did the fuel pressure test and confirmed that the fuel pump is in order and the pressure of fuel supplied to the injector is OK.
He also checked and confirmed that enough current is supplied by the spark plugs.

Okay. Engine change is a good suggestion by the mechanic then. At least for reliability sake.

This is likely an electrical fault. Check for spark and fuel supply to the engine. I'm suspecting your fuel pump. It seems the car ran for 3 seconds on the residual fuel in the fuel lines.
