What did I just read? Has it gotten to this extent? Imagine what would happen if these group of people get hold of a woman. Na wah o! |
I'm no politician, but either way this won't end well. Trump would have won this election easily, but his handling of the Coronavirus pandemic really messed up his chances, but let's wait for the final result to be announced. |
Au79:Actually, UniIlorin is back to the fold, they always benefit from ASUU's fight. I don't know about LASU though. Come to think about it, which other method can one use to bring this government to the negotiation table if not strike. Strike is the only thing that catches their attention. |
Barristter07:You can say that again. |
I only have terrible memories of the hospital. I remember in my final year in the university, I had to sleep in the hospital with my now late Dad throughout my 1st semester. I'd leave him and my mum in the hospital room and go sleep in the car. That period was when I understood the futilty of life. I'd be sleeping in the car, because we were parked close to the hospital mortuary, every night they'll carry at least 3-4 dead bodies past me in the car to the mortuary. That was actually when I started living a simple and carefree life. |
maturemindsonly:I dey tell you. |
TecM0:And you guys had to turn this into a tribal e-war. God save us. |
LastProphet:This has been massively helpful. Thanks a million bro, you're God sent. |
lefulefu:It's actually the alcohol intake I must confess. I'm talking of what I did like 14-15years ago. A friend of mine back in the day Chuka used to be my motivating factor back then, the jogging was like a competition between the two of us. |
lexy2014:A kilometer is 1000meters, I know exactly what I'm talking about. If you know Owerri, I can give you my route. I wonder what's too much in it. |
LastProphet:I kinda always eat late, guilty as charged. |
obinna58:That's my Ackles heel right there, "I hate fruits". |
authority2006:Exactly, I'm completely shadow of myself now. It really pains me. |
Onnasucs1:Of what use will it be if I lie. I know that it maybe I exaggerated with run, I brisk walk/jog for average of 50mins. |
In honestly, I used to be a gym junkie. I'd run about 12km every morning and end up in the gym pumping weights. Now my work schedule makes this impossible. I take a look at my beer belly, look at my old pictures and truly feel like crying. Oh how the mighty has fallen. Back to the topic, truly belly fat is the hardest to loose, as a former gym rat I always laugh whenever I see all these quick fix slimming teas and pills. Those are not just fake, but can be hazardous to health. |
penplus:Thank you, the headline is damn too misleading. |
saaphiere:Would you lighten up a bit for heaven's sake? Don't take everything too literally. |
Herbephe1:Thanks for the coded insults. I totally agree with you that there are bad eggs in the system, that have totally smeared and brought unimaginable disrepute to the academia. Sex for undeserved promotion is not peculiar to the tertiary institutions, we see it everyday in this twisted world we live in today. Before I went into the academia I was a high flyer as a young man in one of the major Multinational oil companies as a contract staff. I once lost a promotion to a girl that was employed less than a week in a company that I have worked in for over a year. That lady actually f.ucked her way into being a full staff of the company. Don't get me started on the banking sector my parents are retired bankers. Sex has always been a weapon of choice for weak people to get ahead of hardworking deserving people. I'm not defending people that indulge in it, but let's call a spade a spade and not a shovel. I'm a principled individual and I know so many honorable gentlemen in the academia that won't even think of indulging in such. So please stop generalizing. On my talk on mentorship. I worked in oil and gas industry for 6years, I won several awards in different offshore locations before I honorably left the industry and went into the academia to share knowledge. Despite my years of experience, a professor in my department had to take me under his wings and I learnt a lot from him. I'm currently one of the top ten scientist in my field in Africa. My students have one several awards in the USA, where we won the second best in the world and also won best price in a competitions in South Africa and in Ghana. I'm currently working a ground breaking research that will revolutionalize the way we do things in the world today, because of lack of funding by the Nigerian government I'm currently working with a secondary school classmate of mine who is a professor in a university in UK and who got a 5million Euro grant for our research. I have two students here in Nigeria working with me on this research and three international students, two of whom came to Nigeria last year because of our work. While the Nigerian government will give you peanuts as a research grant, other countries that know the importance of education are stealing our real Eggheads. Make una no worry una eye go soon clear. NB: If you think I'm lying, I challenge you to send me a pm and I'll happily give you full details of who I am and my research work, hell I'll even invite you to my lab. |
somehow:It's funny when I read stuffs like this, the educational sector is not run like that, if not the poor won't be able to afford education, but if it comes down that no problem. I just hope the parents of the students would be willing pay the hefty cost that will be saddled on them. |
IamD18:It's very true, I'm a university lecturer and 60k was removed from my salary through this same IPPIS when we were forced into it, now I'm currently servicing a bank loan and a mortgage, my take home is now less than 20k why the civil service rules says I most go home with atleast 1/3 of my salary. Now if not that I'm doing a few consultancy jobs, I would have died of hunger by now. IPPIS is a mess, our pecularities were not captured. Believe it or not, if this issue is not addressed the brain drain Nigeria will experience next year would be alarming. 5 of my colleagues are already on their way out,how can Uganda pay a professor about 1.8m naira and we are paid peanuts here? I know some will say we should not leave the system, our own don too much, but remember the greenhorns that will be employed would not have any form of mentorship from seasoned academics, and our educational institutions will be producing unreliable graduates that can't stand their own. Remember ASUU is not just talking about our renumeration but also the terrible and deplorable learning environment our students find theirselves in. |
brexit:The government is already finding it difficult to find universities most of our university libraries have books from the 1970s, our lecture halls can't cater for the number of students we have, don't get me started on the hostel accommodations, students live like chickens in a poultry pen. A Professor in Nigeria currently earns less than 350k will a Professor in Uganda earns approximately 1.8m naira if you convert their currency to naira, just don't get me started on what South African academics earn. Now imagine that the FG doesn't have an ASUU to keep them on their feet. Remember these politicians have there children and wards abroad schooling and taking their parents stolen empires. So please be careful what you wish for. |
Drhealer:Guy calm down, no ASUU member can afford sending their children abroad on his salary. So please direct your anger to our government officials. |
Nnamdi Kalu, you see your life? What pains me the most is that you would try to advice his followers, then BOOOM!!! They are already calling you a saboteur, so you honestly cannot reason with them. This Nnamdi Kalu of a guy is in the UK while you are in Nigeria here dying for someone who is clearly a drug addict. Nnamdi Kalu, biko stop disgracing hardworking Igbos everywhere, face your family and stop all these nonsense. I am honestly tired of all these, Ike ihe nílé a agwụ go mụ. |
Brandonx:You won't blame the university lecturers for that you can only work with the equipment given to you. I happen to work in a university myself, I was doing a research work with a student and an equipment that we need to get the analysis done was nowhere to be found in the whole country, we had to send the samples to Canada in other to get the job done. It's not our fault, blame it on the system. I had to write to buy the equipment for my university, that particular equipment is worth about 250m naira and my application was bounced back, now you can understand why ASUU is demanding for revitalization fund to atleast keep up other countries universities, but our politicians insist on looting our funds and sending their kids to foreign universities. But no matter how bad the system is, we still produce some of the best brains in the world. |
Brandonx:I would have agreed with you, but believe me you can never over stress the importance of education (tertiary education in this case) not everybody is cut out to be an entrepreneur the same way not everyone is cut out for university education. There has to be a midpoint acting as a fulcrum for balance. |
Dididrumz:I believe they will get over with this week. |
derrick015:Look I was addicted to porn and I used to w*nk off alot. But to the glory of God I gave up that filthy habit a few years ago. I was constantly praying over it for God to help me stop, but no way. It was as if the more I prayed the worst I got. But I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit a few years ago and I sacrificed porn and masturbation on the Alter in exchange for something personal, and that did the trick, agreed sometimes the thought sort of breezes into my head, but I pray it off and keep off all these sensual music videos and movies. Something triggers you, find out what it is and deal with it. |
helinues:I once had a sit-down with these guys when I was part of an IOC team that went to discuss with them some years ago. Jokes apart no government would even dream of an all out confrontation with these guys. The own the creeks, they know every where and it would be a logistical nightmare for the amphibious unit of the NA to dream of even going there. Believe me I know, So this one no bi GEJ or Buhari, any sensible government would prefer to discuss with them than to fight |
Kriss216:I dey tell you Coconuts should protests this insult. ![]() Una no go kee me with laff for this nairaland.![]() ![]() ![]() |
lildonn222:It's all good. |
lildonn222:Thanks for the insults, or do you have another one remaining for me? |
bunmconig:Guy you have to be the most gifted dude ever. This one off me sha. ![]() |
