Policies Nigerian can adopt to withstand current economic TurbulenceFiscal policies1. Remove subsidy from petroleum products 2. Higher Euro-bond issuance 3. Tax Cut 4. Adjust the budget to reduce wastage Personnel cost for Budget 2020 for MDS's alone is 2.83trn and aggregate expenditure is 2.78trn Monetary policiesa. Naira Devaluation will make export more competitive and appear cheaper to foreigners which will mean impotrs such as petrol, food and raw material will become more expensive. This will reduce the demand for for imports b. Hike MPR to 20% reduce LDR to 60%, increase liquidity ratio to 35%-40% c. Increase allocation to health by at least N200B d. Use NTB to support FAAC allocations e. Capital control d. CBN should limit government financing 9jatriot: Brent went from around $76 to around $35, what do you expect? This has nothing to do with Emefiele, it is the beginning of a global recession as a result of the corona. I said it before, people do not know what is waiting in front. In the mean time those that experience the last recession should tell us measures they took to help ameliorate this global recession |

jayjay1512: Good day fellow investors ,I am an ardent follower of treasury bills thread here though I hardly but I must confess this thread has been of great contribution to my financial life. But it is a pity that the investment option is no longer viable and obvious the government wants us to go into physical business to create jobs.Though not minding I have decided to go into a business that am very convinced of its viability which details I don't want to go into here. The business requires about 4 million naira to start and I will be able to raise 2 million naira on my own.I need someone that can provide me with a loan of 2 million naira for 2 years with a maximum interest of 20%.Please this is a genuine call with my integrity fully committed.I am ready to provide such person with whatever collateral that might be required.my digit zero eight one six six zero five nine five two zero Why not ask from your church, family members and friends they should be able to help in loaning you, why come to a faceless forum? Besides the bank are giving loans at ridiculous rates. |

cococandy: My advice is for the rest of the family to start planning on how to treat your mom. That’s the ONLY realistic solution you guys have at this point.
The husband may or may not pay back. He might pay back in installments or when your mom’s health is deteriorated beyond repair. He might pay back but not when the money is needed for test, treatments etc.
Honestly the whole situation will most likely end up with them not speaking to you guys anymore. You don’t want it to get there before you realize that you should have been taking care of your mom’s health all along.
Since the husband has a habit of borrowing, I’d be careful not to put the hopes of your mom’s treatment on his ability to pay back. For one, he initially stated he was going to pay back in week. If he was going to have access to that type of money in a week, why didn’t he wait? After all it’s a business not an emergency. That’s how you know when someone has no plan. Spot on |

Dr. Tayo Oyedeji @tayooye
Experience > book knowledge.
That's why I struggle to understand the basis for:
1. Unmarried marriage counselors. 2. Broke financial mentors. 3. Full-time pastors teaching business management principles.
Experience matters.
BTW, I think church leadership (i.e leading volunteers) is the highest form of leadership so all business leaders can learn a lot of leadership principles from pastors and imams.
Leadership - YES Business management - NO
On marriage especially:
Listen to the man/woman who has stayed married for 30+ years NOT the divorcee/single person telling you how marriage works.
The old married folks know something about the institution..
Small caveat: "stayed HAPPILY married" |

Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by DaBogu: 3:46pm On Feb 13, 2020 |
Dr. Tayo Oyedeji @tayooye Compound interest is a double-edged sword that LIFTS investors and KILLS borrowers.
INVESTMENT: 100k @ 10% per annum = 2millon at retirement (30 years)
LOAN: 100k @ 2% per month = 124m (same period).
Fools borrow to sustain their lifestyle; wise people invest into their lives. 3 lessons.
1. Invest. Compound interest makes investment a necessity for anyone who hopes to retire in the future.
2. Run from debt. High interest rates + compound interest makes most loans unsustainable in Africa.
3. Relative value. Very often. Investment return < loan rate. |

You're more likely to be poor if your parents were poor and you're more likely to be rich or middle class if your parents were rich. It takes a lot of work to move up socially. But keep working hard, my friend, it is possible. Upward social mobility is hard, but you can do it. If your parents are struggling financially and professionally, don't look to them for wisdom in both areas. Find mentors in books and outside your home. It's easier to move up socially when you've seen someone living the life you want. Learn from books and mentors. One of my professional mentor was an uncle who rose to become a director at Exxon Mobil. He taught me that I could become anything I wanted if I was willing to work harder than anyone else. I am eternally grateful to Prince Oyeniya (RIP). https://twitter.com/tayooye/status/1225671445428068352 |

Illuminated993: I've been observing you and you seem like a woman with a very strong opinion. That's good and not so good. The gender war is something I will never engage in because no one gender is absolutely right. Women offend good men, men offend good women. No gender is without sin. Maybe you've encountered bad men, but all men aren't same. ehn |
