lastpage: The way and manner you moved from "rough-handle", to "physical threat", to "lynch" ....just to justify this dastardly act, is SIMPLY BREATHTAKING!Lastpage, is the police officer not licensed to kill if he perceives or ascertains a threat to himself or another citizen and using his weapon is the last resort? If you were the one whose life was under threat or being "rough-handled" by a group of thugs and this officer steps in with his gun to rescue you, would you be here shaking your head in disgust? And yes, being rough-handled is a physical threat, or is it now verbal. This is not a case of a policeman threatening to shoot someone for not parting with N20, but a policeman trying to protect a citizen from probable physical assault. Maybe you would have preferred if he walked away from the scene like it was reported of some policemen who were allegedly at the scene of the ALUU killings before those boys were killed. |
I don't know what some of you are on about, but I watched this video several times and the police officer was asking a rhetorical question, which he followed with an answer himself. He asked those gathered/someone in their midst: "I should let you rough-handle him? I will gun you down" He is apparently a security detail to the dude in the business suit. Now tell me, if you are a bodyguard to someone, and that person is under threat of physical attack, what would you do? He wasn't threatening anyone, he was only relaying standard procedure of what would have resulted if they had tried to lynch or attack the person he was detailed to protect. I have no love for the police. I totally detest them and their ineptitude, but I won't give a dog a bad name just to hang it. |
jennykadry: Awww another Nigerian hating without even reading the thread properly. Now why would I hate on you? I don't even know you. And yes I read the thread properly, thank you. Now whether i apply for a visa or walk onto a plane with just a ticket in hand, what difference does it make? As long as I get to do the business I'm travelling for all is well and dandy. The colour of my passport means diddly squat to me. It's just a document. |
jennykadry: LMAO I said it, it's only those without a choice flaunt their yeye greenReally? It's just a document you know, not a status symbol. Or does a foreign passport automatically put money in your bank account? I know Americans and Britons who have never left their countries and will probably never use a passport. If having a foreign passport makes you feel superhuman, then you must really have a low-self esteem. |
Abeg, wetin be all dis one? When will man grow wings and start to fly? Or when will we grow fins so we can swim like fish? Charles Darwin, wetin dey happen now? Evolution don stop? |
Sorry, but I don't hide mine o. As long as there is a valid visa on it, which is the case, why should I hide it. If anyone choses to judge me based on that, it's their cup of tea. Although, I've not experienced any untoward behaviour from anyone. It may also be a factor of your confidence level. If you go about looking around in fear that you may be singled out for being a Nigerian, it just might happen. |
Krasid: 22nd in the world thrashed number 1.FIFA ranking is absolute rubbish.Duh, that's like saying because you came first in one test means the best overall student is a phony. Haven't you heard of cumulative scores? I'm guessing Tyson Gay is now the world's fastest man. |
I hope all of you giving Keshi a hard time can cut him some slack now. Even the all-conquering World and back-to-back European champions just got flogged 3-nil. Or is Del Bosque tactically inept too? |
free2ryhme: shakira will not be smiling ooooMaybe she will. Isn't she Brazilian or something? |
ChukChinCol: Na group stage be dis or final. Where is their tiki taka?Italy took it home with them. |
Should that be a red card? Looked harsh. Which FIFA rule be dat?
Haha, blatant professional foul. That's a straight red. Pique knew what he was doing. |
iyobs7: Help me ask Bosque why e keep Fabregas for bench ooo... Fabregas too get pass and better and well fed mentality... Bosque my God is watching you ooo and by the way this ref nor dey give Brazil card, na only warn e dey warn themTypical Nigerian, you don they question coach. You better go and sleep before hypertension kill you. |
sobaemma: ONLY A FOOL WILL NOT KNOW THAT THIS MATCH WAS PURPOSELY GIVEN UP BY SPAIN,BLATTER AND THE PRESIDENT OF BRAZIL HAVE BEGGED THIS GUYZ,CUS ANYTHING SHORT OF VICTORY WILL SPARKLE THE RIOT THAT IS STILL ON NOW AND MAKE THE PRESIDENT REGRET FOR HOSTING,BUT VICTORY WILL CALM IT DOWN,AM SURE BEHIND THE FIELD BLATTER WILL GIVE SPAIN THE SAME MONEY AS THE CHAMPIONS.Guy, go back and continue reading your James Hardley Chase. |
Ramos o! |
Ah, I don enter o! I can't shout! Sleep don clear for my eyes. Spain is getting whipped! |
This is sad news. Oliha was a tireless ball-winning midfielder back in the days. R.I.P, you were a national hero. |
Win or lose, this could be good publicity for the NDLEA, if they know how to milk it. And then it could cost them a huge amount in damages for character defamation like the Baba Suwe case. It would still be publicity all the same. |
chronique: The confederations cup is a miniature world cup and you have no business being at the world cup if you can't beat or draw at least, one of the world's top teams. We had the chance to beat uruguay but we didn't. As poor as taihiti were,we conceeded against them. It shows overall that as a team,we were behind spain and uruguay. Spain beat uruguay 2-1 and beat us 3-0. Spain beat taihiti 10-0 and uruguay beat taihiti 8-0. Spain and uruguay didn't conceed against taihiti. We beat taihiti 6-1. All these figures, shows that the only team in the group we were better than,is taihiti. If we are to face teams at the level of spain and uruguay at the world cup, then it means we should expect an early exit. Forget about this team not being our strongest. The confed. Cup is a grade A tournament organised by fifa for continental champions and nigeria has not done africa proud in that regard. If we had beaten a top team and still lost out,it would have been a different thing. Honestly,I don't know how taihiti got there. Playing a team with only one professional footballer is nowhere,a test for an african champion. I don't care what anybody says but amongst the players we have in europe playing football, osaze is still one of the best strikers we have now. I can't imagine him throwing away all the chances that fell to the likes of gambo, ideye and musa. Ideye as a matter of fact needs to quit football and take up a job as a mechanic/carpenter/bricklayer or plumber. He's an embarrassment to the position of a striker. However,I must commend the midfielders, defenders and goal keeper(although, defence needs to sit up). Overall, the team didn't play badly and were never outplayed but as we all know, results is what matter;not just how well you played. We need to play like champions and keshi needs to stop this unneccessary trial and error. You don't try players in a competitive tournament. You try them during friendlies. He still needs to learn some things about coaching and management.Like seriously, at the bolded? Then you obviously didn't watch the Nigeria vs Guinea game that ensured we failed to qualify for AFCON 2012. Osaze had 3..., I repeat 3 clear chances where he should have simply buried the ball in the net, but instead he played a tame back pass to the Guinea goalkeeper. In my opinion, Osaze, not Siasia lost that AFCON ticket for us. Osaze's best as been as an advanced playmaker behind the top striker. He is not a no.9 |
cyco05: I remember the commentator saying "I've not seen such a play from any african team"...its obvious what our mistakes are and we can work on it, the likes of yobo and osaze weren't ever in a team as good as this....they fumbled and even failed to qualify for the nations cup...I think keshis team is the best any Nigerian has watched since the 94 squadSadly, some here are probably too young to remember 94, and those who are old enough have problems remembering. We don't know the good Keshi has done us yet. Our play has improved from the sloppy, lifeless stuff we used tosee some years back. Players are more committed to the team and not just full of themselves and their overbloated egos. Most of those players who thought their spot in the Eagles was automatic will now have a rethink. The likes of Osaze who will say, "coach I may not come to AFCON because my wife is about to put to bed" are now singing a new song now. |
Jarus: OVERALL SCORECARD IN THIS TOURNAMENT: The Uruguay match was our best in my opinion, followed by Spain, then Tahiti. Our attack was poor. I still hold that we don’t need Osaze (off-field discipline is as important as on-field quality), but I think an IK Uche and Martins would have made difference. But kudos still to Keshi for giving Ujah, Akpala, Babatunde and Gambo a chance. It wasn’t a totally bad tournament, except our attacking flaws. With 3 points and +1 goal difference, Nigeria came 5th in this tournament, although that’s rather flattering, giving the fact we got the goals because we had whipping boys, Tahiti, in our group. Eagles should come back to Africa and continue to be continental champions. This team is going places. The only difference between this team and Eagles' golden era of 1990-1998 is lack of sharp finishers like Yekini, Amokachi and Siasia. In terms of entertaining, free-flowing, possessive football, I think this is the best we have got since the exit of the 90-98 set.You are so correct. It's really amazing when I hear some Nigerians throw names like Osaze, Martins, Yobo around and they suggest we would have been better if those guys were in the team. Have we so quickly forgotten how we failed to qualify for Germany 2006, or the disaster that was South Africa 2010. Were this not the same guys who couldn't beat South Korea, even when 3 points would have ensured qualification to the next round? Were these not the same guys who failed to qualify for AFCON 2012? So, what makes them all of a sudden the magicians that will ensure us success? Keshi has done a good job so far. To think we could have won the Confeds Cup is nothing buy wishful thinking. We were never considered among the favourites, but I have not seen the Eagles play with such fluidity and confidence in a very long time. |
sambos994: There is a difference between club and country. Balotelli causes no trouble for Italy.Dem born am well make e try that nonsense for Azzuris? Na mafioso go arrange am. Italians that already have issues with racism? But seriously, it's a two-way street. Osaze too should call Keshi and apologize. He was no saint in the matter. |
Chei! Fear catch Gambo. The thought of scoring against Valdes paralyse the guy. |
Aha, linesman u for look the other way now. At least make we score one na. Haba! Na beg we dey beg o! |
I bet Ideye is more disliked than GEJ right now. Jonah, I'm happy for you. |
biolabee: This team needs extra JossBuhahaha..., guy no let food wey I dey chop comot for my nose o! |
Ideye! I yaff give up. We are playing without a striker. |
Must Ideye dribble before he scores? |
I don show o! Wahala dey o! One goal down and now our most consistent defender is out injured. The boys dey try sha. |
