edi287: Stupid match.....keshi is an idiot for taking only akpala, ideye and ujah as strikers. Ike uche, osaze, heck even enemaro would have done better. Lukman haruna would've been useful. That gay babatude should never be invited to the team again. Idiot isn't even in the first team of his useless club in Ukraine
Bro, it's very easy to throw names around but these were the same guys who failed woefully at the last world cup and failed to qualify for afcon 2012. IK Uche is a shadow of himself.

Good game by the Eagles. We controlled most of the game and all the stats were in our favor except of course the one that matters most. If I was a neutral, I'd say the better team lost. Mikel real impressed. He has won back my heart. Good one lads.

Er, chairman, the last time I checked most goals are usually scored because of defensive mistakes. When a team mounts an offensive against the opponents defence, it is usually in the hope that the defender will make a mistake i.e mistime a tackle, misjudge the flight of the ball floated into the goal area, follow the leg instead of the ball when trying to stop an attacker's step-over, wrong defensive positioning etc.

Are you sure you watch football?
Politics › Re: Fashola Hated School Failed Waec & Almost Became A Mechanic by dabossman(m): 2:44pm On Jun 19, 2013
*cools down*

That was an interesting article. Fashola's vivid memories of Lagos back in the days goes to show why he is trying his best to reform the state and return some sanity. It clearly explains his moves to sanitize places like Oshodi, Obalende, Surulere and so on. Lagos used to be so beautiful until successive military governments let it go to rot.

If only some of our leaders can remember their roots and what this country used to be like back in the days, maybe they would make an effort to correct some of this decay.

ademiller: So he hated school and failed waec? Dats very good. Olodo oshi. No wonder he is messing up wit Lasu as per non challant attitude towards our education. Dee dee rin.
And how did he mess up LASU. The school fees is too high right?

I know your type. You want free education even at University level abi? You refuse to pay a decent amount for school fees but will readily spend 80K on a Blackberry and even have an I-pad to boot abi? School fees is too expensive, but brazilian hair and monthly BIS is not right?

Your mates in the western world are working two jobs and getting student loans which they continue to pay long after graduation just to get a university education, yet you want it on a platter of gold abi?

I can bet you didn't even read the article beyond the headline. Next you'll be begging the government to find you a job. Mtshewww.

For a team that is just slowly winning back the support of Nigerians, this is a bad move. If they get disgraced at the Confed Cup or fail to qualify for the World Cup, these players will not hear the last of it o! Concentrate on the soccer first. Dangote, Adenuga, Corporate bodies and the Presidency will splash cash on them if they perform.

collynzo2: what shît are you saying? Science has actually proven that the risk of genetic disorder in offspring of incèstuous couples is very low, about 4%, but then again what if they decide not to procreate and adopt kids like gay couples, what becomes your reason for preventing them from getting married? What if the relationship is between two gay siblings, what then is your reason? As for the animal stuff, do you seek their consent before killing them to eat, which is worse? Where exactly do we draw the line in all these?
GBAM!

I think there is a lot of double standards in the way the West approaches this issue of gay rights. They talk about 'freedom' and 'rights' yet try to force a lifestyle on the population of an independent nation with threats of withdrawing foreign aid. Doesn't a sovereign nation have the right to decide what laws it wants to abide by through a legal parliamentary vote? Did they as a nation reach the abolition of slavery overnight? Even as we speak, gay marriages are still illegal in some states in the US. Has the US government threatened to stop giving them any support from Washington because of their stance.

Is the power of the majority vote no longer an integral part of democracy? I don't support violence against anyone, but if our society says we are not ready to accept homosexuality as a way of life, shouldn't we be entitled to our choice?

Foreign Affairs › Re: Russian Parliament Passes Anti-gay Bill In a 436-0 Votes by dabossman(m): 10:08am On Jun 12, 2013
Er..., just asking o! Since anti-gay laws are considered an act of "intolerance", and homosexuality should not be criminalized, when will polygamy (labeled 'bigamy') and marriage between blood relatives (labeled 'in.cest') become legal in the west?

If it's okay for two consenting adults of the same sex to get married and adopt kids, then why is it illegal for three or more consenting adults to be legally married and be one family, or why can't a brother marry his sister. We are all free to do as we chose when it comes to sexual and marital rights, aren't we?

When will the West repeal their laws on bigamy and in.cest? Or don't people that prefer polygamy have rights too? Or is it only the Western powers that can decide what rights consenting adults are entitled to?

Again..., just asking.

Politics › Re: What Is Going On With The Lagos Light Rail Project by dabossman(m): 9:06am On Jun 11, 2013
lastpage: Wait let me get this right!
*Light rail project, right? Its a "light Train" sort-of but uses overhead high voltage electricity and can be driven in both directions by just ONE DRIVER at a time!
I use it on a daily basis and l know exactly how and what it is.

*Now, what will the "OKADA DRIVERS" being trained, be doing w.r.t the Light rail?
*[b]Let us assume they will be "driving
" it!

*Question is: Does this Commissioner (maybe he thinks we are all illiterates or Akara-seller) not know that the construction, which will normally suffer "unforeseen delays" (case in-point is the "swamp factor" just mentioned), does not need to be halted, just because he wants to TRAIN THOSE WHO WILL DRIVE THE COMPLETED AND COMMISSIONED Light Rail?

*Has this Commissioner and the bunch of nitwits he associates with, never heard of the word "parallelism" in project management? Why cant both issues (Training of Okada drivers and the construction of the Rail line) be progressing in tandem?

Lastpage!
Did you even read the article? Who said anything about okada riders driving trains? They are training them as artisans to work on the construction site. Are you sure you're not actually an "akara seller?"

That man must be hung by his elbow. Assaulting an officer with an edible weapon in a bid to cause grievous emotional harm is a very grave offense. That officer must have been traumatized by the apparent waste of such an essential commodity.

You know it's amazing how some people take panadol for another man's head ache. I live in Alimosho and ply the Iyana Ipaja-Ikotun-Governor's Road routes on my way to work and back in under 15mins. This was once a hellish journey that once took over an hour every morning. I DON'T PAY TOLLS ON THAT ROAD O! The Isheri-Igando-Iyana Iba road is another of such pleasurable roads to ply with NO TOLL! Go to Surulere, many roads have been reconstructed or are under reconstruction; Adeniran Ogunsanya, Bode Thomas, Adelabu, Itire road from Yaba to the Oba's Palace and beyond all the way to the Okota Link-Bridge. ALL TOLL FREE! That is where the so called "poor" folks live.

A bridge linking Lekki to Ikoyi? Seriously? I thought that was an exclusive neighbourhood for the rich? Besides, I do believe plying that route is optional as there are alternatives, so what's the fuss?

solomon111: I don't have any problem with building refineries in the north,as long as refineries are sufficient in the oil-producing states.
We can always satisfy the north with petroleum products without building refineries there at the expense of the niger-delta.
Bros, maybe it's time the money bags in the Niger Delta also invest in their own. Even if it is from their stash of government loot, let them put it back into the system instead of stashing it in foreign accounts. Worse case scenario they can use others as fronts until the long-arm of the law hopefully catches up with their looting a**e*
