Mavor: Am wondering the same thing myself. The closer the refinery is to Nigeria's main oil fields, the better the refinery's daily operation and its daily output will be. Anyway God bless him. His heart and mind are in the right place.
Are you guys serious? You want Asari and Tompolo to come and start giving the guy a hard time in the Niger Delta creeks. Abeg bros Dangote, go settle Ilaje boys well make them help you protect your investments. Besides, Ondo has oil too o!
Politics › Re: Why Do Nigerians Leave Their Light Bulbs On In Day Time. by dabossman(m): 3:59pm On May 16, 2013
@OP: This is a no-brainer. It's simply rebellion of some sorts. I'm billed 9k in a month for electricity supply that is "one day on-one day off", meaning I only get 15 days in a month and you think I'm going to care about conserving power? Besides, I put the security lights on at night and they take power while I'm asleep. How will I remember to switch off the lights when it wasn't on when I left home.

Let NEPA/PHCN give me my pre-paid meter and see if I will still leave those lights on.
Politics › Re: ACN Condemns Declaration Of State of Emergency! by dabossman(m): 12:29pm On May 16, 2013
While not saying the SOE will bring about an end to the menace of Boko Haram, my beef with Lai Mohammed is that like Doyin Okupe, he just opens his mouth and criticizes anything in the name of the opposition, even when it is not neccessary or will paint the ACN in a bad light. The guy needs to apply some tact and know when to attack and when to pull back. It's really becoming unbecoming of this fellow.

FG to grant Boko Haram amnesty - Lai Mohammed will criticize.
FG declares war against Boko Haram - Lai Mohammed will criticize.
FG increases power generation by 25% - Lai Mohammed will criticize.
Power generation drops by 25% - Lai Mohammed will criticize.
GEJ takes a sh*t - Lai Mohammed will criticize.
GEJ decides to hold in his sh*t for the sake of national security - Lai Mohammed will criticize.

Like seriously? Is that all being the opposition party is about? Senseless and tactless bickering? Gosh!
Politics › Re: ACN Condemns Declaration Of State of Emergency! by dabossman(m): 6:13pm On May 15, 2013
Does Lai Mohammed ever shut up? Must they turn every issue into a political dog fight? While I detest the PDP, I really don't think the ACN is portraying itself as a better option with these kind of dumb comments.

Yay! Another Tonto Dike thread hits front page. Okay, nuisance or role model? Ehm, ehm, she a role model nuisance! No she is a nuisance role model! You know what, let me go and have lunch first. Brb.

I wonder what many of you here castigating Kaffy would have said if the headlines had read "KAFFY'S STEPMUM ADVICED HER TO GO INTO PROSTITUTION". You would have probably cursed the wicked step mother out right? But now that it's her mom, it's okay and can be explained away, abi?

Let's see if you'll be so magnanimous when your wife sends your daughter down that path.

alpha conde: I hv been the most qouted on this thread, the thread was about saka porting not about alpha condes mind set. Personally loyalty is my virtue and I check it out in every associate. Moneys not naturally everything @ least that what I think. Etisalat made us to know how good saka was. If it were myself I would be eteernally grateful. There were some kids that took their time to insult me. Well am disappointed cus hitherto I was full of respect for dem, especially ITSMODELLA, just as my feeling for saka has change such is how I now see u as a BI.CTH
You are quite entitled to your opinion, but be honest with yourself, how many brands are you truly loyal to, and can you claim never to have switched from one brand to another?

What brand of toothpaste are you loyal to? What brand of noodles, cola drink, alcoholic beverage, car, clothes designer, TV set/electronics, mobile phone, shoes, bathing soap, body cream, perfume, wristwatch etc would you say, honestly, that you have been loyal to? Can you truly say you have never cross-carpeted and switched brands?

It's not enough to think loyalty stops at supporting one football club win or lose and yet switch from KFC to Sweet Sensation and then Tantalizers every other time you want to have lunch. So, stop being so sanctimonous, I bet you've switched brands several times too. Want to prove me wrong?

Events › Re: Paul Adefarasin’s House On The Rock Cathedral by dabossman(m): 8:42pm On Apr 21, 2013
I don't know what some peeps are complaining about o! This church took 9 years to build with about 5 billion, yet your Vice President wants to build a house that he may vacate in 2 years time for 16 billion.

Besides, who says these churches don't help the poor? Many of them have outreaches that cater to the needy. Every project has it's own budget (including church building, welfare packages, humanitarian work, mission work etc), and they do a better job at utilizing their budget than the Federal Government does.

I think some of us need to school ourselves on what budgeting means, building a sports stadium doesn't have to affect building power station or schools as long as they are all in the budget, just as building a church cathedral doesn't affect the funds used to help the needy.

I wonder when us Nigerians would be doing Animations? Or are we going to be eternally stuck in these cheap, substandard Tonto and Ini Edo movies?

When are we truly going to embrace the beautiful art that is animation? Or is it just out of reach for our creative intelligence?

Way back in 2003, I watched another beautiful traditionally animated African-themed movie called "Kirikou", and absolutely loved it. Fast-forward to 2013, and not a single international-standard animated film has been made in Nigeria.

We dey too busy dey talk about how "big" Nollywood is, when this size is only accounted by the quantity of watery waste we shoot out, not necessarily the quality.

How many special-effects houses do we have yet? After all these years?
Or are we going to have to re-invent the wheel?[/quote]Bro, how easy is it to produce an animated movie in a country that has no stable power? Do you know how many hours it will take to render out even a 10min photoreal animation, not to talk of feature length? You'll probably need to buy 20 tanker loads of diesel to power the 5 Mikano generators that will do the job none stop. Who go put down that kind money? And even if one did, what is the assurance of making back your money with Alaba boys around the corner.

I know a number of good animators, but without the required resources, what can they do?

Politics › Re: Buhari Is Boko Haram’s Major Sponsor – Presidency by dabossman(m): 3:57pm On Apr 16, 2013
Shedysworld: The president is just been considerate. From your write up it simply shows you are staying in the south and you've not seen the kind of hell the "strangers" pass through, if Jonathan decides to arrest Buhari now Jonathan has nothing to loose and infact he'll probably be applauded, again where Jonathan is he can't be touched (security wise) so he has no fear of arresting Buhari, but the "strangers" staying in the north will feel the heat. So you as a president will rather take accolades than having your entire citizens safety at heart (bro expand your horizon of thinking pls and think like a leader)
Seriously dude? So because we are afraid a few people may protest Buhari's arrest by attacking Southerners/Christians (which is still speculative) we should allow a systematic and organized killing of the same Southerners/Christians week in, week out by Boko Haram?

Is it not better to arrest the alleged major sponsor and quell any speculative riots that may occur using the military, police and other security forces, hopefully puting an end to Boko Haram insurgency once and for all, than to fold your arms and say "oh, we can't arrest him because we don't want riots to occur". People are freaking dying already!

The FG should just let Buhari be if they don't have any evidence instead of running their mouth like a child with dysentry.

1forall: President: Members of BH are in my government

Azazi: PDP is BH, BH is PDP (and he got himself killed)

Okupe: Buhari is behind BH

Some NLers: Yes, BH is Buhari's fault

President: Amnesty for BH!

Tunde Bakare: Nigeria is a nation of iidiots ruled by fools

Lagbaja: It's a nation of 200 million mumus

Amaechi: Nigerians are too timid for a revolution

...and the circus continues
You forgot to add:
Boko Haram: We are the ones to grant Nigeria amnesty.

manmustwac: Well plese answer the point the poster made which is if Buhari is not sponsoring Boko Haram why did he say he would make the country ungovernable if he lost & how did he plan to do this? Also why dosen't he visit the victims of Boko Haram bombings or make public statenents against it?
Why should Buhari visit BH victims please? Is he the only former Head of State? How many victims has Abdulsalam visited. Or Babangida, Shonekan, Buhari, Gowon, Obasanjo? When did the President finally grow the balls to visit Borno?

Ni**ar please!
Politics › Re: Buhari Is Boko Haram’s Major Sponsor – Presidency by dabossman(m): 10:22am On Apr 16, 2013
Okupe really needs to STFU. angry Since you goons know Buhari is the main sponsor of BH, what is stopping you from prosecuting him? Oh yeah, evidence. Unfortunately, you have nothing more than an unguarded statement that Atiku also made. And since we are building therios on hearsay, Azazi also said disgruntled PDP members are responsible for BH. Oh, and the C-in-C huhsaid they are in his government, so go figure.
