Sports › Re: NFF Leaves Kenya Team Without Security As Harambee Stars Train In Oshodi Pry Sch by dabossman(m): 2:29pm On Mar 21, 2013
Personally, I think this is just a ruse by the Kenyan Federation to make excuses for their team if they lose and also make Nigeria look bad. Never in our history (at least as far back as I remember) have we ever done this to any visiting team. Worst case scenario, we will take them to the training pitch at the National Stadium in Surulere.

I bet the Kenyans opted to training on a pitch close to their hotel after missing their flight to Calabar, and then turned around to blame it on the NFF.

However, if I'm wrong, then shame on the NFF. We need not descend to the levels of other African nations who treat our teams unfairly.

Politics › Re: Did You Vote Jonathan In 2011 And Will You In 2015? by dabossman(m): 2:04pm On Mar 19, 2013
I refused to cast my vote for anything PDP in 2011 and thus did not vote for Jona in 2011. For me it was a protest vote against the PDP. It didn't matter if they won all the same. My vote is my right and I cast it the way I wanted. Come 2015, I will still do the same. I'd rather my one vote goes to a party with only 10 votes nationwide than join it to PDP's 10 million votes.

Join the PROTEST VOTES if you don't want PDP and Jonathan in 2015. #teamanypartybutpdp#

Are you guys aware that the Vatican City is landlocked by Italy? So, do we not have an Ambassador to Italy who can represent us with his staff? Would that not save cost on unnecessary expenses for David Mark and the so called powerful delegation? Or you think Mark and Akpabio will travel alone? Get really guys and start reasoning extensively.
Politics › Re: Mark To Lead Delegation To Pope Francis Inauguration. by dabossman(m): 7:37pm On Mar 18, 2013
I wonder what would have happened if Cardinal Arinze had been elected Pope. We would probably offer to bankroll the inauguration with Jona and Pepe as special guests, and all state governors and local government chairmen in attendance.

Politics › Re: Illegal Structures Demolished In Ladipo Market by dabossman(m): 8:14pm On Mar 05, 2013
PointB: Imagine a big market like Ladipo without a central dump site, yet some clowns are praising the government for the inanity of closing the market. Why didn't the government provide this facility and see if it will be put to use or not before closing the market? It's little wonder why Lagos State itself is one big junkyard. A state where the government pockets tax-payer money, plant flowers, and then do fvckall with the rest of the loot.

Now taxpayers still have to plead with government to their job, in providing the simplest of facility. If this simple plea is not granted, I surmise that Ladipo, and every other markets in Lagos State and beyond will remain a sh1t-yard for aeon. This is very fundamental.

Shameful.
Dude, listen to yourself. A trader was quoted as saying they are losing about 500 million naira daily! They are generating that much and they can't take care of their own surrounds? They must wait for government to come and do their clean-up for them? How much would it cost them to employ the services of a PSP operator to service the market daily? Without the governments help they can turn that place to a model market and that's a fact.

Uhm, sorry o, but what makes you think these peeps are doing better than us? Because they are on TV? Because every time they buy a new car or rent a new apartment they post it on twitter?

You seem to forget that some people pay their bills. e.g producers, advertisers, sponsors and so on. I know Directors and D.O>P's who make more in a year than our celebrity actors. Do you see those people on TV or know when they buy a new car?

Should we add the many bankers, lawyers, engineers, accountant, IT gurus and what not that are on Nairaland to that list? Haters indeed. We're asking people to improve their craft instead of focusing a false sense of stardom and you're here saying something else.

Please are they handing out awards for "I'm a die-hard Goldie Fan" people? Or what is all this talk about people bashing her not having the rights to mourn her demise. I like Goldie's music, but I may not be cool with all she does as a person. I have a right to feel that way. Heck I love Fela and think he was a legend, but I didn't like his weed smoking and 27-wives stunt. So, I shouldn't have said RIP and I'll miss you when he died?

Give me a break. Celebrities are in the public view and will be criticized sometimes. Doesn't mean people hate them or wish them dead! Some of you proclaiming to be her die-hard fans here can't even boast of having spent 1kobo to buy her album. No be so so free download una dey do? Park well jor.

TV/Movies › Re: Guiness Advert: “My Friend Udeme” Vs “My Brother Femi” by dabossman(m): 5:11pm On Feb 15, 2013
StarBoard: ...my Brother Femi is a silly, uninspiring and mashed-together advert.
So it takes a loafing little brother to wait for his ugly big brother to come from the nameless "City" to give him a bus ticket and a miserable bottle of small stout after performing aproko stunts in the "City", with that silly-a$$ line?
Jeez.
The creative director for that advert needs to be fired or sent back to nursery school to work on his imagination.
Have you stopped to think that the people that ad is targeting are not the typical "I don make am for city, buy big Jeep come show for villa", but the regular joe that is hustling in the city and comes home to bring his brother into the city with him. If you use Nigeria as an example, you will agree that there are more people like that in this country. You only need to visit the motor parks to know that everyday brothers and sisters are bringing their younger ones to city to come and hustle as well.

I mean let's face it, what percentage of people return to the villa at Christmas or Sallah as millionaires? The regular joes drink Guinness too you know.

I would say:

1. Child's play (Chucky)
2. The Omen
3. The exorcist

In fact, I am not a horror flick fan. I wasn't back then and I ain't one now. Besides, I was told that you can invite evil spirits into your home when you keep watching horror flicks.
Oh yes the Exorcist! Yee! That was some really scary stuff.
